Issues with Pandora, EB13 - Epic 4G General

Anyone has had problems with pandora app staying stuck on "Loading....." after starting up?
I've uninstalled / installed the app and rebooted my phone in between, and no matter what I do, it still does the same thing...
Suggestions?

WiFi tether not working

Hi guys. I'm on a vacation roadtrip and decided to fire up the WiFi router and browse xda. The app starts fine, but when I hit start router, it flips over to SU request and sits at a black screen for a few minutes before saying it is not responding and prompting me to end task or wait. I tried going into the apps list and hitting super user permissions and got the same result, sat at a black screen then crashed.
Can someome tell me what to do? My setup specs are in my Sig.
Thanks

Uninstall wireless tether and then install again, then it should work just fine. Fixed it multiple times for me when problems came up with it.
I can't. It's built into omj's rom that I'm running. I think I have some issue with my super user permissions. All my apps that use SU are crashing and asking me to force close or wait. this is not cool. Any suggestions?

Tapatalk just crashed. Something is definitely wrong. App crashes are no longer limited to SU apps.

I just installed the latest beta version of WiFi tether. Same result. Is there any way to swap the superuser "controller" app with the one that unrevoked installs? My brothers have no problem using the WiFi app

Update: well, I completely reformatted my phone and loaded fresh 0.3 on there and its working great except wifi tendering. Now when I hit the wifi symbol, it says unable to start wifi tether. Please try again later. What do I do??u.

Make sure you lay your phone down on a table that is level then start the calibration. When its complete; reboot.
If this doesn't work then idk what to tell ya :\

I tried this method -- Seemed to work at first. But now my phone is stuck in the 270o position. Turned off auto-rotate in settings just so it would stay vertical. Any suggestions?
I've tried doing the command line with the phone horizontal with the edge of the phone on the table. Also tried it with the back of the phone on the table.
I have this problem also. Flashed to one of the froyo roms. Did a calibration, noticed it seemed "stuck" or slow to auto rotate. Flashed back to stock and and went back to EE middle problem was still there. During the course of the night it stopped auto rotating. Odin back to full stock and no fix.
Do the manual terminal command line mentioned earlier in this thread to fix the issues even after rolling back to Eclair. I believe it has something to do with the built-in Froyo calibration in settings. I did not have the auto-rotate lag until messing with that. Very annoying.
One thing I noticed is that because of the bump at the bottom of the Epic when you lay it on a flat surface to calibrate, it's off by about 15 degrees. Which makes it take longer to switch to the vertical orientation. I did it with a small bubble level laying across the top and it responds to vertical much faster.

No. And unfortunately, even though this fixes the problem; It cannot be baked into roms. Every person's sensors are completely different. No one cfg seems to match more than one person. I'll prolly toss a script to do it in quantum 1.6.

Help with DK28 issue

Hi. I have been on DK28 for about a month now and I'm fairly happy with it. However, There are a few issues (nothing too major) that i would like to ask help for. just to kindda be quick, I used odin to go to dk28. I had removed some bloatware while on 2.1 and flashing would not work for me so i had to use odin. I was rooted on DI18 and im rooted also on DK28. I do know that this is not the official release and IT IS buggy but i thought some of these issues might have been resolved.
These are the problems:
-screen rotation lags. Whenever i go from landscape to portrait or wise versa the screen takes like 3 or 4 seconds to change orientations. I remember it was almost instant on DI18.
--I drop internet connection a lot. I always get the connection failed error message regardless of whether im on 3g 0r 4g. i'd be on youtube for like 15 min and this happens. Same when im browsing the market. The icons on the notification bar show signal bars but the phone is not connecting. I have to toggle them on and off to get back online. I did try to flash older modems but wasnt able to (system error 7 or sm like that).
---battrey is not calibrated. I used the "wipe battery stat" trick a few times and it does not seem to help. when the phone is fully charged it shows 100% and as soon as i take it off the charger it goes to 96%!
----SOmetimes when i make calls the counter on the screen starts but i dont hear anything. If i make a second attempt i get through right away!
-----I dont use Bluetooth a lot but it seems like most of the times i have to unpair and re-pair back my jawbone for it to connect. I never had this issue with DI18.
Everything else seems to be working ok.
Thanks in advance for reading this and helping me if you can.
and ohh. btw here is some info about my phone in case you need them:
Frmw versoin 2.2.1
baseband: s700.0.55.KD28
Kernel: 2.6.32.9
Build: froyo.DK28
1. for screen rotation fix do this: get android terminal from market. type"su" (without "") then type /system/bin/sensorcalibutil_yahama and hit enter. follow the onscreen instructions.
2. for better data connection do this Get your MSL#
Easy way to get your MSL # use connectbot from market
Go to phone > Dialer > ##3282# > Multimedia > Enter "MSL" > You will see RTST Proxy, HTTPPD Proxy > modify every list > set Address with "0.0.0.0", port with '0'.
this will help with speed but data connection errors are pretty common on dk28.ive seen a great speed increase after doing this.
3. battery thing is common for the phone so the battery doesnt overcharge.
4.when you cant hear anything toggle speakerphone on/off and then you can hear them without calling them back.
5. dont use bluetooth. cant help you sorry.
hope i helped you
Thank you very much for you help. I did the Calibration thing and now the phone only does horizontal orientation. lol. Im flashing back to DI18 and starting all over again. Its kindda fun anyways!

Are there any drawbacks to #2, the MSL/HTTPD proxy thing? And/or can someone explain what this actually does? I also have DK28 speed issues, but am reluctant to try something like that without a bit more understanding of what's going on.
Thanks!

[FIX]GPS Dropout Fix

If you're having problems with your GPS continually dropping out, particularly on the new Gingerbread release, try downloading GPS Status from the App Market and reset your AGPS data.
In GPS Status,
hit [Menu],
then [Tools],
[Manage A-GPS state],
[Reset],
Optionally you can [Download] for new A-GPS data
I tried it on CM7 nightly 36 and apparently I'm getting quicker locks.
[Update 01]
Apparently, that first method works for some, but not all. There is a second method, but it requires you to be on a Sense Rom (Stock HTC based). I'll add it here. More people say that this works better, but I was reluctant since I was already on an AOSP Rom (CM7), so I would have to flash back to a Sense Rom.
You will need your MSL code for your phone
Using a Sense Rom,
go into the Phone Dialer,
and Dial ##GPSCLRX# (##4772579#)
(Reboot)
Here is the original post by SantinoInc: GPS Fix (GPS Reset)
Were you driving? That has been stated numerous times to only work while not moving. Or to only work for a short period. I did the ##GPSCLRX# fix and have not had to worry since. Getting down to 6m accurate whole driving.

Please forgive my ignorance, but how do you type letters on the dialer? I tried using the number key with those letters (works out to ##4772579#) which didn't work. So I feel appropriately humbled. How does one run that code, please?
GPS Status works fine, but I only use it for this; so, if I can not have another app on my phone that would be great.
Thank you for your time.

I was also having GPS problems with the CM7 ROMs. I restored a Sense ROM and ran the fix using the dialer, then restored my CM7 ROM and my GPS worked perfectly. However, I just flashed to the lated MIUI ROM and now my GPS is taking a long time to lock. Had maps open for 10min on my drive into work before it locked on. It did eventaully lock but it doesn't seem to work as well as it use to. Wondering if this is a MIUI thing??
Im in Japan on a seasonal stanby for three months
so i dont have service, just paying 9$ a month
Im trying the ##GPSCLRX# on a sense rom so i can switch over to a 2.3.3 rom
I put in my MSL and did the reboot
i opened maps and have been waiting for around 30 mins for a lock
and NOOO success
It just will not lock!
Is it because im on Seasonal standby?? and not using phone service
My GPS is on and im using wireless networks turned on
its still moving around not locking
ahhhh!!!
My gps would not lock and the icon would just disappear after a few minutes. I was able to get it to lock using the steps for 'GPS Status' app, but I had to do it again the next day. But after closing out of all the apps, the gps icon was still there and would not go away.
There was no need to start another thread on the GPS fix; it's been posted for quite awhile now.

No, even from Japan with no service you should be able to get a lock. In fact you should be able to get a lock from anywhere with NO data at all, but you do need a data connection to download the map data and see a map overlay of where you are (obviously), and also you need data in order to download the GPS "cheat sheet" A-GPS data. But it sounds like you have other problems, perhaps your ##GPSCLRX# code didn't take. Did you reboot all the way through? try it three times in a row and make sure that you do NOT use any app that can access the GPS device after the last reset before flashing an AOSP rom. That includes the market, the web browser, maps, latitude, navigation, etc. After the second time you reset it, try shutting it off entirely in the control panels.
GPS fixed on CM7
Hello,
I tried everything said in forums about gps fix but I had no gps on CM7 nightly and had no problems in sense roms. I do not remember where I found someone recommending a kernel for gps fix and another people said ##GPSCLRX# solution should be apply 3 times in a row to be effective, so I tried both, I have gps working perfect on CM7 but I cannot say which method was the solution.
This is what I did:
- Made a backup, of course.
- In Ginger-AleV2 (sense rom) I dialed ##GPSCLRX#, then enter my MSL, reboot automatically. Returning from boot I repeated this step other 2 times.
- Go to recovery (I have Amon-RA 2.3) and restored my CM7 nightly #86, then I flashed #87 (in same session, just wipe cache & dalvik before), then flashed GoDm0de-v8 kernel (in same session too).
- Reboot and checked GPS, working perfect since more than 8 hours.

after you do the gpsclrx command and it reboots you NEED to open the google maps or similar software, let it lock and track for a few minutes, then reboot and nandroid back to cm7
Just for giggles, leave your GPS on when you flash CM7. That was what finally worked for me.

4g issue

I just recently started using launcher pro instead of the sense launcher and since then my 4g comes in automatically when I restart my phone. Does anyone else have this issue? If so is there a way to stop that from happening? I don use 4g because coverage sucks in my area and I have WiFi to hook to almost everywhere I go.

Did you make sure the 4G box is unchecked in your settings (wireless & networks?) That should do the trick.
If it's happening while using a non-stock Launcher, download a 4G toggle widget and remember to toggle off upon reboot.
Yeah the box is unchecked. And I haven't had this issue until I started using launcher pro. Don't know if that's what's causing the issue. Just noticed it started at that point. No matter how I reboot the phone it always comes on at boot now. And I am sure that it is turned off on shut down.

I have the same issue! While it's not a big deal, it is annoying. I don't have a custom launcher and I'm still on the stock ROM. I noticed it once I downloaded Power Control Plus and put a widget on that controlled the 4G. Do you have Power Control Plus installed as well?
No. On stock Rom. Oc'd to 1.8ghz. Running launcher pro for a launcher and themed with dreamlyfe and widgetsoid.
Edit: have a switched setup through widgetsoid. Gonna remove that and see if it helps. Has a 4g switch on it so maybe that's whats doing it.

Just removed the switcher widget and rebooted. No change. Still turns on my 4g antenna on reboot. Really annoying.

same thing happens to me and im on the stock rom just rooted.
There's gotta be a solution to this. We need some code junkies, devs. What's up?

i have used launcher pro for over 5 months now and have never had the issue with my evo or the epic. did you go through all the settings from preferences when you hit the menu key?
Went through the menu with no settings for connections. I've used launcher pro before and have never had issues like this. I don't think the launcher is the issue.
Sent from my Evo Shift.
I am on the stock Rom and this started happening to me when I installed beautiful widgets which comes with a 4G toggle. Even if I don't use the toggle or put it on any of my home screens beautiful widgets still causes my 4G to turn on after a reboot.
Me too. And I just flashed a fresh Rom and didn't have the same issue. I will try removing beautiful widgets and see what happens.
Sent from my Evo Shift.
Whenever you turn off 4g, do it by going into menu-settings-wireless settings. If you turn it off using beautiful widgets that's when you will encounter this problem. This happens in the evo.

I turned it off at the widget and in the settings menu. They had the same effect. But as I said above not having that issue at the moment. Will do a couple of reboots and see what happens.

Did multiple reboots since last night and I haven't had any issues with 4g coming on at boot when it was off on shutdown. Don't know if what I did fixed the issue. Or how it did it. For everyone having the same issue try making a nandroid backup, wiping everything, then restore. I actually flashed a Rom, decided I didn't like it and restored back. Try that and post results.

I do have beautiful widgets installed. Has been the whole time. If that was the cause, wouldn't that carry over when restored? The only thing I changed before the last backup was removing the switcher widget. Made a backup after that right before flashing the new Rom. Didn't like it. Restored back. Problem gone. Maybe a write error or something regarding the widget?
