---Calling out to the developers--- - Android Software Development

I was just wondering if there are any developers working on a custom rom or themes for the ZT-180. It would be nice to see considering there are so many of of out there with this tablet, and if you would put a donate link I'm sure that me and alot of other people would be more than willing to make it worth you while.

There are so many of that have this tablet on android forums alone there has been more than 195,000 views on this pad and over 1,000 replies on slatedroid there is a whole section about this pad with over 30 pages of threads and replies

Big Thanks to the Mod(s) for keeping this place clean :)

There is so much traffic in the HD2 forums these days, so many threads in the wrong forums, so much randomness etc...
Just wanted to thank the Mod or Mods behind the scenes who almost immediately move, close, delete and edit posts and threads and make our XDA experience that much better.
thanks to the MODS
Yes thanks for your help and works
I dislike making posts/wasting other people's bandwidths on posts which are not discussions, questions, trouble-shooting, or developments, but I do here want to chime in with a giant +1 THANKYOU MODS - your work does not go un-appreciated

Want to start making games? Developer of 'Walkabout' sharing tutorials and code :)

Note to MOD: Please move it to the relevant area if this one is wrong, I tried to find the best section, but I could be wrong!
Hey guys,
I'm the developer of the game Walkabout for iOS and Android. You can see more about it at my thread here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=961325
I'm going to start posting tutorials on development, including pro tips, and explanations on how various part of the game were coded. This is for BEGINNERS totally new to making apps AND EXPERTS.
If you're a coder or interested in making games follow me on twitter at:
http://www.twitter.com/base2solutions
I will be tweeting links to tumbler with tutorials and sample code I have posted. I want loyal followers so in no way will you be spammed with 'buy this buy that' except a tweet every week on an update with any games I may be working on.
I have approx 1200 followers from various forums who are on the list, as well as about 20 Corona developers who's tutorials I will retweet.
Again, this is about development, and helping those new to making games, as well as hardened developers with tricks and shortcuts.
Please DONT message me asking to tweet about your games or apps. We want to tweet quality posts and keep followers not annoy the hell out of them! I dont know about you but i'm sick and tired of a tweet ever 3 seconds about some new game! I dont want to fill your twitter page with rubbish!
First tutorial will go out later today Come join in!
Instead of repeating all the beginners tutorials out there, I've pointed to a few and switched direction to a series of tips and tricks for corona. These are things not documented anywhere else!

I need to vent about needing a minimum of 10 posts

I have been here since March and have read well over 100 hours of material here on XDA and just because I have not posted crap on the non development threads I can't post quality help and rom feedback in the rom development threads? That doesn't make any sense. There needs to be another way. For example, if a user has actively read/searched for a set amount of time that should count for something as well. I am not sure what that amount should be but I strongly feel it would be a good Idea. I think it might also reduce the amount of nonsense posts that people put up just so they can get their 10 posts, one reason I am posting this one.
Rant over (for now)

hey
I totally agree I am very knowlegable of flashing roms and been having trouble lately with these newer builds but I dent have the posts eaither haha BS for sure
i have a feeling its to force people/newbs ( no offense) to actually spend the time reading and hopefully find the answers on their own instead of flooding the forums with questions that have been asked and answered hundreds of times before.
said newbs might ( as i have in the past) find additional answers to questions they dont even yet have.
I have no problem with looking for answers. I am venting because there are many times I know the answers to others' questions and because I don't have 10 post I can't help them out and possibly others at the same time. I end up answering there question threw instant messages instead of in the thread where it might be useful to others. I am also venting because I can't report bugs on a new release of a rom that I just flashed. A bug that as of yet has not been mentioned and I want to see if I am the only one with the bug, Also I have read the entire thread and up to this point this bug has not been in any of the previous releases for me or for others.

I cant report bugs on a new release of a rom that I just flashed cause im a newb.
i have been flashing different roms for a year now...........
I also find this thing not useful. I have less then 10 posts, but i use every new edition of SD build cm7 ACA, and i have a lot of suggestions. I find every new edition better then the other before!
This thread should be in Off Topic, which is a good place to make your first 10 posts quickly and easily.
10 posts isn't really that much.
well guys my best advice is ... hop on over the a non dev forum and get to answering questions for the TRUE newb, help someone truly lost and in need. you know as well as i do its something we do almost every time out and take for granted ... (remember your VERY first time you flashed anything!?!?!) how nervous you were that you were going to turn this marvelous beauty into a ugly paper weight, how many times you read yet still missed that ONE little step!
its been so long since i joined id but forgotten about the non dev posting limitations ... ahhhhh well reach out, help someone, and happy posting :-D
Well firstly 10 posts isn't much and secondly you are in the wrong forum. There are loads of threads about this in the OT forum.

It's not like that, but like this:
You (and maybe 10 other people) do have knowledge and aren't newbies, but are not able to report bugs, help others or contribute because of the limit.
But on the other hand, There are over 100 members that are purely newbies and won't mind (maybe also enjoy?) posting (already answered) questions in the development sub-forums, that had to be restricted from cluttering the dev forum.
The idea of limiting dev sub-forums to over 10 posts may has its cons, but it also has it pros.
And as mentioned earlier, getting 10 posts (e.g. from answering in Q&A sub-forums) shouldn't be that hard.
I have no problem with the 10 ost limit. Just post something on a random thread like this and you will quickly get 10. Just like me, I hated my old user name and now I made a new account, I'm not a developer but I have read many many hours and can suggest something worth while also. But in reading those many hours I have seen countless post just reasking a question thats been answered already. 10 posts isn't that bad you will have it in no time!
I know that if I wanted to just go and wright pointless stuff I would have the posts I need in no time but I don't feel right about doing that just for the sake of doing it. However to get my point across I have no problem doing it.
Agreed, I'm still working on my 10post requirement so I can post feedback on ROMs and bugs.
You finally got your 10 post requirement.... nice!

It should be time to read/search in forum! You learn more reading one day than posting ten messages. When new member is learn how to use search they are ready to start posting

ROM posting rules and reviews (question)

Hey all.
I find myself wondering two things, and thought it best to post it here. Been lurking for some time, love it here.
My first question deals with all the ROMs that are posted here, it's possible questions like this already exists in another thread so please direct me there as my searches didn't turn up anything. For those of us who aren't tech savvy to the point of knowing every abbreviation, technical detail and such, and even for the sake of practicality, is it a good idea to require that developers post a few lines about what their ROM actually does and what sets it apart?
Some ROMs do this, others don't. ParanoidAndroid is the first that comes to mind here at the Note section, where the developers explain in detail what it actually does. Other ROMs, I find, take it for granted that people will understand what this rom does or is about, and so we have to look around or maybe visit their home page or even try it out before discovering if it suits our purposes. Any rules or regulations on this sort of thing already? There are plenty of ROMs here, and instead of flashing every single one it seems appropriate to be offered a short explanation instead-
Secondly, I just bought a Valentinus (by Spigen) case, and want to do a review - where do I post that?
Have a great weekend.
I agree with you !
I think that ROM Chefs should write a brief description on what makes their ROM differ from the rest, There are a lot of similar ROMs out there at the moment, Not that it bothers me as i like how the development is so big.
I usually read the threads and get peoples opinions before flashing, That gives me an insight on what to expect from that particular ROM, But as i just said, A little description wouldnt go a miss
Oh and as for your case review, That should be in the Accessories Section, Theres a thread all about cases in there, you may want to add it into that!
Greets.
I agree. A few lines should be plenty, a brief description so we don't have to go through the 50+ pages and scour thru user problems, queries and other trivial matters. When we have so many roms, it is essential to get an overview. One master thread, sort of like the huge review list they have over at head-fi, detailing contents and function.
Thanks for the tip on the reviews.
Cheers.
+1
A short description will do no harm to any
If the dev is busy, the dev should ask any of the community users sure there are a lot there to help,

We had a similar discussion in one of the threads. If you go to the note wiki page you can find the list of kernels and roms available and their features. Thou this is in its early stage, after updating that list it will be a lot helpful

testers needed!

Okay this is the 2489623 time ive posted in xda and so far i have gotten ZERO replies..to everything...am i posting things in the wrong forum? do i need to develop some kind of relationship with existing users? Am i not using the right lingo? SERIOUSLY WHAT AM I DOING WRONG? are my questions to hard for ppl to answer? When creating an android theme i had so many issues and I loved that a website like this existed...little did i know its was completely false hope because i ended up doing random things to eventually find the solution since NOT A SINGLE PERSON could offer any advise here...i like doing things by myself but if someone can point me in the right direction, it helps ALOT..and i thought this website could do that..obviously I WAS WRONG...now for the last 5 days i have been trying to find someone to test what ive spent more than 50 hours and and no one will even reply with an "i can't" or "i dont have a jelly bean device"...
i dont care anymore i give up on this website and finding a tester here and this is just a rant...
funny thing is people will probably reply to this complaining about everything i just said....smh
Where did you posted your theme? Is ir for a specific device? Or is it for Theme Chooser?
If you're having issues and want help from other developers then raise the issues in the Q&A forum. The Development forums are for development releases only, so you won't get any help in here.
