I managed to take my Hermes apart and replace my Touchscreen. When i detached the touchscreen I had to take these orange connectors off, they were held in place with see through tape. One for the touchscreen about 1 cm wide and another one (my guess is the backlight ?!). I did so and i think maybe a bit to rough/unhandy. I replaced the Touchscreen and tried to connect those orange connectors again with some tape. Put my whole phone together again. Now I do not have backlight anymore and my touchscreen is not working... I think some pieces of the connection of the orange connectors stayed on the phone and some on the connector itself so it cannot make contact anymore...
What is the way to reconnect those orange "connectors"? Maybe it needs soldering?
On the picture you can see one of them.
I'm guessing you may have just screwed it... Unless anyone else knows different?

I am searching for manual that explane LCD touch screen (digitizer) replacing for Qtek s100 for like 5 hour in Google.com and your forum.
I try diferent key-words in search options but i couldnt fined it.
The only thing that i understand from posts, that i find, is that there is a menual describing this process, but no one know where it is.

Or you can discribe me what do do.
I can easy take apart my phone, but i cant separate Touch Screen from LCD screen. They seems to be glue to each other or somthing.

These steps I already knew, what I need is how to mount the digitalizer because I think that is solder to the LCD, and this manual does not explain how, someone knows how to do?
The digitizer is 'glued' to the LCD screen. Don't wast time trying to separate the two. I've tried it. Just replace the entire screen assembly. They are cheap on ebay.
So why sell the digitalizer if there is no way to replace it with a new?
I didn't say it's impossible, but it doesn't make sense to go through that hassle. Buy a new screen assembly and be done with it.
Need to be solder, but with tool can I use to solder? Anybody could give me the steps how to off the old LCD and then solder the new?
It can be done with a regular soldering iron with a very fine 'tip'. Since you are using a fine-tip, you'd have to ensure that there is no circulation of air in the room (which will quickly cool the tip of your soldering iron). Obviously, you aren't going to do this in a 'cool' room either.
Personally, it makes better sense to simply replace the entire screen.
I'm now under the impression that Antix already bought the digitizer, hence he is being so persistent in separating the two components.

Hey, i just separated the digitizer from lcd and change it for new one. I used adhesive cleaner to soften the double sticky tape holding digitizer on the lcd. Moddeling thin knife to cut it arround (ull probably will crack the digitizer, i did ). Clean the contacts on the other side where the ribon cable goes, put a litle solder onto each one of the four of them. Do not forgot to use the soldering paste and good clean soldering tip. Put some double sticky tape around the lcd, cut it as required, attach new digitizer. Clean the end bit of the new ribon cable with lighter, so that only cooper lines are wissible. use fine sand paper to clean off the cooper . Put some solder on to the ribon cable, again use the paste. then solder it on to the lcd ribon. on the end put some (electric) tape over the joint to keep it strong and assemble your htc again. Works wonders, and does not cost £40 for whole new screen but only £6-7 for the digitizer.

I bought a newone digitizer for my HTC G1, after replace it and assamble it, the digitizer did workd at all. I retryed a lot of times and nothing. I test digitizer on another device and it worked fine. flex and cables were tested and all goods.
Any idea? any help?

I have made that mistate before but if you know how to this this already just ignore what I say,
Check to make sure you connected the ribbons to the connectors correctly. There is a tiny little lever that is the lengh of the connector located behind the slot at which the ribbon inserts to.it should lift up and down, use your nails or a little toothpick. You must lift this lever to release the pressure on the ribbon cable in order to detach it. When re-attaching it, ensure that the lever is in the up position, then lock the little lever down after you insert the cable. Hope that helps. And remember be careful with the ribbons because if it rips just a little bit it wil cut the circuit.

I just found this fail in motherboard.
It was due to a rised pin at the cable connector. After a deep clean and apply my hotgun, Done!!!
After I replaced the crashed screen glass and digitizer on my sisters HD2 it doesn't work properly. The phone starts only if it's connected to a power source and when it starts the screen backlight is turned on but no picture appears.
I've replaced the screen glass once before on my HTC TytnII and then everything went fine but now something got wrong. Does someone know what it might be?
I've tried to disassemble it and assemble it again but it's no difference.
Get the LCD and digitizer together and then assemble with the HD2.
Looks like the 2 are not correctly stuck together and this is a cumbersome process requiring the use of an oven.
So the two must stick together to display any picture? It sounds strange to me but I've used some glue that I bought on the same place I bought the digitizer so it should be ok.
Check the LCD clip on the main board, as well as the flex cable. If both are fine, your LCD is dead and needs to be replaced. The digitizer does not need to be taped or glued onto the LCD for it to work. When reattaching the LCD, be EXTRA careful of the clip, thats the first part any of my techs damage when they first work on this phone.

i got the typical problem that my screen wasnt responding after use of endbutton. Sometimes it was working.
I now disassembled the device and saw that the flatcable had a small scratch and i guess the first one or two cables are brocken already and only get contact sometimes by luck.
So does anybody know if there is a way to repair this ?
A new touchscreen isnt to expensive 20-30€ but why throw away a working one if a cable is repairable easily?
Next time i will glue the cable to the display so that there is no flexing when pressing the endbutton. The problem is that there is a little space between that is pushed away each use of the endbutton and someday the problem occours.

Well i tried a few times to fix the issue.
But its hard to solder the flex cable without totally burning it.
If i solder it its very likely to break fast again.
Im going to buy a new digitizer too..
To your question:
Yeah i saw that there space between the flex cable and display. The cable is bent a bit towards the buttons. When you push the button the cable is bent back in the free space.
I will glue the flex cable directly to the display and put a layer of protective tape over it. so it wont bent (What causes our error) and wont scratch(if this could happen too).
The problem is the poor quality of the flex cable. Its very hard and therefore breaks easily what causes the wires to break to sooner or later.
If i can ill try to take a few photos but its hard as my digicam cant focus so closely..
