I am having issues with downloading some apps 57mb internal storage .
Some apps successfully install others don't they say downloaded but installation failed .
Where do these downloads go to on my phone ?
EG : if i could find them would i be able to install through astro with .apks.
unrooted FRG33
I run into this with apps I have moved to SD and a couple other apps in the market like Google Sky Map. Also had this problem with WiFi File Explorer Pro but the dev made a change to his code and it updated fine after that, he said there is some issue with rooted phones. For apps that are already installed and won't update you need to move them back to phone storage and then update again. Not sure if this applies to you as you are unrooted but maybe you did the adb setinstalllocation?
Also, this should be in the Q&A section.
Is there an option in Android market to install downloaded apps on the SD-card?
If there is, where can I find it?
Greetz
The Market doesn't offer that at all. You need Move2SD Enabler, which will allow you to set the default install location to either internal or SD. You also need root privileges to use it, but I assume you've already got that.
You can find the app all over this forum - just search for Move2SD.
there should be an option in the manage app setting in your phone that says move to sd card
Hello, first of all im really sory if i post this on the wrong section. Im new to this rooting things, just got my Xperia X8 yesterday as i broke my N86 last week

man rooting your phone is really goood i dont think that there are problems when u root your phone if u have backup. See the simpliest way to root your phone is with the superoneclick programm
1. go to settings-> applications -> development and turn the usb debugging on i suggest u to change your phone language to english so it will be easiest.
2. go to settings-> sd card, usb mass storage & phone storage
click on UNMOUNT SD CARD
3.Download the attachment.
4. open superoneclick and press root but make sure that the sd card is unmount and the usb debbuging on
5. reboot and you are ready
I am stacked at the next step which is to install the x recovery
if u think i helped u thank me

First of all there are many things u can do with root u can install costum roms and get the 2.3 update but i dont use it because it isnt stable.X recovery is a very good thing that lets you to update your system if u have the rom downloaded. In order to buckup u have to download app from market but i insist u to root first witht the superoneclick and then download titanium backup which is an app that requiers superuser permission ( when u root u will find an icon called superuser ) it will automatically ask u to allow the app or not u press allow. Also an other good app u have to use is the root explorer which is paid but if u google rootexplorer.apk u can find it free and install it when u will try to install it i will say that it doesnt accept apps whch isnt from market and a pop up window will come up. There u press settings and u click the first box so it will allow ou to install the app. Free noramlly it costs 4.59$ . Also an other good app is Adfree which removes the advs from the apps. U can also use market unlocked if u want to check an app which isnt free. Download it from market after u root of course. When u download it run it and click the first box nammed SYT and then go ot the market and buy your pay app. I wil be here to help you again if u want something after all these. Something more when u root your phone go to market and search root apps and it will show u the apps that requiers root permission. U cant download Xrecovery this is a nxt step first do all these and then let me know if u want the Xrecovery. Also download the busybox from the app and istall the 1.17. These for now when u do them make a reply with what else u want.
Thank if me i helped u

ok happy digging but be careful always make a backup
i accidently remove gmail with titanium backup and my market now stuck with starting download when i try to download free app
Man if u hadnt made a backup i dont think u can fix this but i think that u can fix it if u make update manually to 2.2 but u have to have the xrecovery install first. If u find out how to fix it without update ok then post here in order to help you to install the xrecovery and update to 2.2

i got this problem when i use SOC 1.5,
than its work with SOC 1.3
before i use SOC, i select USB debugging
when i connect the phone, i just cancel it (don't mount)
then push Root.. walah... never fail for 10 times.
one more thing, u should install pc companion to get x8 driver in your comp.
anyone have xRecovery that working with x8?..
I got xrecovery from this thread

is not because u delete your gmail,,, my market sometimes just give me " starting downloading... " but never star to download..
first.. delete market update.. and try again... if still just same... factory reset the second option... if still cant downloading.. use another rom..
market bugs "starting downloading " i found on real firmware and some rom out there... i just do xrecovery restore when this happen..

Thanks my friend I managed to solve the problem, but this annoying little thing, yet I thank your attention.
I was using apps2sd and yesterday I was messing with my SD card. Long story short, I had to repartition my sd, so all my apps are lost. I don't even have the market app anymore!
So now I can't even download all my previous apps. Anyone have the market apk so I can push it back onto my phone? How would I do that with adb?
adb install [file]?
Thanks....
Just reflash the rom or gapps or both.
Or learn how to use dropbox as a private app store.
the easist thing to do is root your existing firmware (if you havent already) then go to to your app settingings and let it install from unknown sorces. google the market.apk file. and then put it on your phones SD card. and install it from there. if that dosnt work try opening up your widgets and adding the market widget which somtimes restores the app.

Nandroid backup is done inside of clockwork recovery which you can use rom manager to boot into.
Custom roms will usually come with busybox, but if you want to update your version you can download busybox installer from market
Not sure what you are doing with google maps, but if you uninstall maps it shouldnt give you a problem reinstalling another google maps apk manually or from market.
If it says read only on system folder then you have not changed to write access. What file browser are you using?
You can absolutely unstall any of the tmobile bloatware including tmobile tv. If you want a precooked rom that has all of this stuff removed and is stock in every other way then check the link in my sig for my mysense rom. It may be exactly what you are looking for.
