sunnysoft backupmanager 3.7 wm5

Hi
has anyone noticed there is a new wm5 compatible backup manager version
works great
Yes, I have been using it for about a week and did not find any use for it until I started trying out softwares. All I can say is it worked BUT VERY MUCH DISAPPOINTED WITH IT. Why? After performing a hard reset and restoring from backup, I noticed that it created a few double icons for some of my programs, not a big deal probably for some, but not for me. A backup should restore only what it made a backup of, and not create anything extra. So if you are a nut like myself, save your money and stay away from it. It is a waste of money.
Okay, but do you have an alternative backup WM5 soft ? I prefer double icon than no icon at all...........
You can remove the icons by using file explorer
My Device --> Windows --> Start Menu --> Programs
Yes there is an alternative since a few weeks.
Sprite turned available a Beta for its own backup product "Sprite Backup for Windows Mobile '05"

Hi Conchas
i had a problem with Sprite. I downloaded the Beta version and did some back ups but then the software expired and there was no way to restore from the backup (you don't seem to be able to reload the software and after a hard reset it gave me an "older" version message!). Until they release the full version i wouldn't rely on the backups from the beta version

Spb backup

im not sure if any of you are familiar with spb backup but i have a question, if i flash a new rom on my phone will spb backup be able to instal all my programs and settings unto it?
You can try...it should work in ver2.
from SPB website: ROM Upgrade Mode — now it's possible to restore data after the ROM upgrade
Not sure what version I've got got BUT if you put a new os on your phone its not advisable(has warnings on SPB Backup) NOt to install backup as there are differences in the registry and programs list. In essence you lock up your phone and have to HR.. Can do mail and contacts though.
Cheers...

Backing up before flashing (which software programs)

Decent WM backup software. I have tried SPB Backup, but what I am really looking for is a program that will mirror my entire phone so that on a reload, all I have to do is load the backup program and then restore a recent backup file and the phone is exactly the way it was - say before a hard reset.. does anyone know of such a program and more to the point, have they tried it and does it work.. TIA.

Okay, thanks for that.. I have a trial copy but if it does what I need then I will purchase full copy.. cheers..
I have to agree. I use Spb backup all the time to restore. I keep a clean backup (after hard reset - all my config and programs included). That way I have no issues installing new apps or making changes. It they don't work - just restore to best config. I love it!
I use SPB but I don't think that it backs up registry changes, so if you've made registry changes you'd have to back up those as well. I use PHM registry backup becasue it's free
SPB does save registry if you tick the little option.
Can you use SPB backup to restore ALL data not just PIM info after a ROM upgrade? Has anybody tried it?

Well last night I backed using SPB and also Resco Backup.. Both do just what I want but I have to say that the Resco Backup actually looks better as it offers to show you the differences between stored backup and what is currently on your phone, it also seems to offer so much more of the little stuff but all in all they are both very good.
I flashed my phone last night and the restore was very straight forward and as I have my phone heavily customised to suit my wishes, I am pleased to say it has all come back to the same as before, so that is good news.
When you use SPB backup and make a Backup! Do you guys rekomend to backup the Regestery aswell ?
Dose All the Installed apps comeback with same settings ?
Even after a Room Uppdate is it Safe to do such a backup ? or only if its the same room and making a Hard Reset ?
Back-up programm on computer
I'm looking for a back-up programm which I can install on my computer instead on my HTC HD2.
I cannot synchronize my phone with outlook because it's to old and therefore no connection can be made. At least so it says.
MyPhone doesn't work for me either, cause it only downloads contacts and so on if their is a connection between my mobile and outlook.
Before the HTC HD2 I had another mobile (not a windows mobile), for this mobile I had a programm (PC Suite) with which I could make a back-up of my entire mobile. And I could enter my backed-up data on my computer.
I hope someone can tell me which back-up programm I can use.

Need Help To Restore Contacts

Hi Team,
I was using Asus P750 With Windows MObile 6.1 and i had created a backup on the case i have the backup files with EXTENTION as (.bac) how ever i am not able to find any option to restore the same in windows mobile 6.5 as there was one in 6.1 as backup and restore utility
Please Help
Your best bet will be to use Microsoft MyPhone to backup your PIM data and Media and restore it that way. This will not backup any settings or customizations or apps and programs but it will save you some time at least. I have not been able to find any other solutions to restoring over a different platform because there are differences in the OS that would cause stability issues.

How to backup all my SMS on Tmo HD2??!

guys how i can back up my SMS on my HTC to be readable on pc and i can put them back on my mobile
Thank you
you can use pim backup.
i backed up all te things in a file now on my card but i want to be able to read my SMS's on my pc through that how i can do it?
Pim Backup creates an XML file as far as i know. You should be able to open the file on your PC with a normal text editor like notepad and be able to read your messages.
This is the only option i know since Microsoft shut down the myphone Service.
iMobile sms backup is good for this as you also get a pc viewing editing tool. The most accurate for purely backup is SPB backup & doing custom messaging backup, PimBackup & iMobile do not backup all folders correctly, MMS are not backed up & sent folder will be empty. SPB mail,MMS,SMS & contacts can be viewed via SPB unpack viewer, you can also load SPB Messaging & contacts backup into the PC WM emulation software giving you viewabilty/edibility to cover a huge amount of future import export scenarios ...
Is it possible u give me the full version of SPB backup??!
thank you
Edit...... my bad
