Gingerbread to support Arabic? GoogleTV owners please confirm.

Someone posted a pic of an Arabic website on what appears to be GoogleTV. http://ardroid.com/2010/10/22/google-tv-arabic-language/
Would any GoogleTV owner care to confirm by comparing browser display of http://www.kooora.com on their Foryo phone vs, GoogleTV. On none Arabized Froyo it will be disjointed letters, still hard to tell by none Arabic readers, but a snapshot will help.
I have to say, on my 2.2.1 phone that link looks fine... but as I don't understand even one "letter" of it, I could be very wrong.

The characters appear but they are not attached, making it really hard to read. Got the same stupid unattached characters on CM6 nightly 216.
Confirmed. Arabic works fine with Google TV. Font is there and the letters are all connected.
I totally forgot that my Google TV was gingerbread, and my friend was just asking me about arabic support in gingerbread not 5 minutes ago. So this is very good news.

Cool! Does it have a virtual keyboard and is there a setting for Arabic keyboard layout? Is it only supported in the browser, or does it work on all apps, Gmail, Buzz, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
When was it confirmed that Google TV has gingerbread? I don't remember seeing anything like that. But, I could be wrong, feel free to correct me.
And, I don't think the Google TV version of android is anything like what we would see on our N1s...And, again, feel free to correct me if I have my thinking wrong

Your right.
Google tv is a modified android version, but not from the gingerbread line.
just a note. On google tv, google chrome supports arabic however the system itself does not.
(I can go to arabic.euronews.net and see everything fine. but when i alt tab the page name is displayed in blocks. and if I bookmark it all I see are blocks.)
Gingerbread will support Arabic
Using the 2.3 emulator, the site (www.kooora.com) renders no differently to 2.2

[Q] Swype uk language on original firmware?

I updated my firmware and now have no uk option on swype. Can anyone with a regular uk tab let me know if it was there before the update, as I never looked?
If so I may have to go back!
I'm at work now so can't check (I cycle to work so don't take the Tab until there's a fitting to mount it!) but I've noticed it keeps putting "z" in words that we spell with an "s" and it also keeps putting "76ers" instead of "cheers" (I'm from ooop north and use cheers a lot) and I cannot stop it from doing that, I don't even know what 76ers means or why it would be in my dictionary!
I've complained to swype about it but never had a reply (it also puts "god" a word I'd never, ever, need to use instead of "good")
Yes, you should have English UK as an option under language settings for swype.
(I was planning on including a screen shot but the xda app tells me it isn't a valid image format.)

Thanks for the speedy replies. I guess I either need to go back & lose the brower mobi/full site switch or just learn to live with it!

untick "Use system language"
Tick "english (UK) keyboard
Untick the rest.
Now for the "system language"
go to market and install MoreLocate 2 ( does not need root)
http://t.co/hvXhoZ3
open the app
click options (grid icon)
"add Locate"
Label - UK
Language - en
Country - GB
then click add

Hope this helps everyone.
Things its solved I can now use the app movies ( review app not google one) from the market before it just forced closed.

I checked out the android bug tracker thing, and there's a few people asking for different layouts, incl. dvorak to be able to be switched to and one android dev said they were working on it.
i left a comment anyway, as moto said it would be in their version of 3.1 - so who knows what will happen...
i was really hoping this would be in for 3.2 though

uk bluetooth keyboard support has now been added.

I flashed CM7 and lost the dictionary for quick typing suggestions.

After flashing CM7, the words that show up for quick typing suggestions are only composed of words imported from my contacts. I seem to have lost the internal dictionary, or have seriously depleted it. Is there a way to get this back or a new dictionary i can dowmload/flash? Any suggestions would be helpful, or even a point in the right direction. Thanks!
For some reason its set to something like "MD (English)" as the language. Go into your languages and set it to "English (United States)" and it will be fixed.

Anyone figure out how to change County/Region?

Just got my M3 from China because I wanted to get an LTE version, which is not available in the US.
I have set language to English, and set time zone to Pacific, but the tablet still thinks it is in China. Websites that are multi-lingual show Chinese characters, when I try to create a Huawei Id it says "County/Region: China" at the top.
Any idea how to change this? Seems like a nice tablet so far, and the LTE is nice (Google Fi), but I am not sure I am going to take the time to learn Chinese just to use it.
Thanks!
Dave

I deleted or deactivated all Chinese applications. I manually installed Google Play. Installed its applications, including Google Chrome, keyboard, etc., and I only stayed at Hivoices Chinese characters. I have adjusted the default application to mine.
Thanks! I wound up doing the same thing. Was just hoping there was a way to tell the tablet where it really lives. Reminds me of the old DVD region days...
One related note, on HiVoice... I was playing around and got to the place where you can use your voice to wake up the tablet. It wants me to say something 3 times as my "wake up" word, but no matter what I try I cannot seem to get it to accept anything I say. It is telling me, in Chinese, what I should say -- and clearly I am not following directions well. Were you able to get the voice wake up to work, and if so - what was the trick?
Ditto re PlayStore, Google Launcher, Calender etc
If you change language to English US first, then option for USA should be available. Australia as country was available after changing language to English(UK) on my M3.
