Help - Debranding

Sorta new to this forum .. Anyways I tried debranding my Sony X10 using the method over at xperiax10(dot)net .. Followed everything in order to get .16 update , didn't show up .. So i tried their rebranding method , so the X10i downloaded the Japanese files .. and put my phone from an X10i to an SO-01B .. it says you can just rebrand your software using the backupfiles from the debranding method .. So I go to SEUS AND Pc Companion and try the repair option .. on SEUS there is NO repair option .. and with PCC , I only get as far as update .. because it keeps telling me " Cannot download your files , please check your connection and try again " I tried and tried again for like almost half an hour , no luck .. I'm trying my best to figure this out .. But can't seem to I don't want to be stuck with japanese stuff on my phone .. it doesn't have landscape text either Any help would be appreciated !

i think i might be getting somewhere , but still the same problem .. im trying through pc companion and i look at my task manager ( win 7 ) .. when it says "updating do not disconnect" the SEMSC OMSI MODULE.EXE quits by itself .. so what i tried was to run it through program files .. it got me somewhere for like 5 mins , then failed .. so idk if i have the right idea ..
Ideas anyone ? I'm thinking of getting rid of this phone because of the japanese software that has been loaded ..

long story short, you messed up, probably da vinci is your best bet now.

warranty is fine if you get it back to x10i I doubt they will replace a SO-01B for a x10i

That's the exact tutorial i followed .. if you read it , it says " it'll download the japanese files from the server , once repaired just debrand using the method " .. I tried it , but don't work .. I think i'm going to try da vinci .. Really hope it works .. Thanks for the help guys .

Docomo SO-01B
Went to Docomo with my rooted xperia SO-01B - the y could not figure out how to upgrade... I had forgotten to unroot .... they were so flustered and could not figure out the problem...so they just gave me a new one. Have rooted the new one (2.1) and about to debrand .. Any howto`s for debranding upgraded DOCOMO experia SO-01B?

1st of all what model is it (X10i, X10a, SO-1B)?
If it's not a SO-1B device and you flashed it with SO-1B firmware, then obviously SEUS and PCC won't recognize your device.
In general only flash accordingly matching firmware on your device.
If you know what you're doing then you can experiment with what ever firmware you wan't. But sounds like you don't really know what you were doing when flashing your device.

SE X10i Android 2.1 ROM?

One guy at another forum uploaded package for EMMA and he says that it's Android 2.1 for X10

well its an esa file, i opened it with winrar and was able extract another file from it but this file has no extention.. so im not sure what to do with it now

well I see it is on Russian language,I think you need EMMA for flashing,wait for few more days till real update will be released,if we could wait 6 months few more days is not a problem,well at least not for me

Just finished installing Froyo for my unbranded US-bought Legend running with Vodafone EG.
Took a while to install and finally after several reboots...

hi everybody I have tried to root my xperia x8 because i wanted to update the android version to 2.1 , i downloaded the superoneclick 1.5.1 and i did all the steps i've read here but at the end it says "FAILED the device was not rooted" and in my phone it appears the superuser aplication but i can't access to the root explorer because this message appears:"Root explorer has not yet managed to obtain root access.Because of issues with Superuser, this often happens the first time the app is run but is usually fine from then on."
I have no idea of what is happening , i did all the steps:i put my phone in debug mode , then connect the phone and click "root" and it is still not rooted :S
If someone can help i would be very happy , i'm about to become crazy :S

If you have android v1.5 Donut and you want to upgrade too android 2.1 just install PC Companion (Sony Ericson software that you get with the phone in the box) and let the aplication search for any update of firmware for X8.

actually i have 1.6 version i've tried to update it with pc companion but it says that it has the latest version....

PC companion>Support zone>start> ... And it says that u have latest software?

You don't need to root your android to do the upgrade.. xD just upgrade with sony ericsson update service, and after that you can root your phone normally using 2.1 firmware..
Although, you need to substituite a file in superoneclick: "thecage.." to "neuter" but rename to the original.. (sorry if i can't explain well, but i'm portuguese and i'm 16.. xD) search on the forum or wait so i can post the zip file already working, because i don't have it on my phone..

My best guess for you would be to use the flash from this thread:

It's set as russian CDA number, but you can change that - look on x8 forums for way to change CDA (don't have time to help with that just now )

Yeah, we are in lucky situation in Europe, but south-american telcos didn't deal 2.1 version. Even nor some providers in USA

Firmware is "X8 Shakira E15i_2.1.1.A.0.6_generic.ftf" I think what i need is a E15a firmware .Does someone where can i find one?also give me instructions of how to use the flashtool please

You can flash with E15i firmware and then flash X8a baseband that you can find in thread in my signature bellow

...maybe there is a way to update with pc companion like he is in Europe...
And I read about updating from other country on development section.

Easy way it's changing the SI number so it solves it like a workaround, still i'm not sure if it provides his language (i think it does) after that he can even install froyo or ginger eh
There are lot's of tutorials with infos to do it right in dev section, check them out.

well... actually i have the flash tool and i found this firmware "X8 Shakira E15i_2.1.1.A.0.6_generic.ftf" but my xperia has the e15a version if flash it with this firmware what would happen?

you should get android 2.1.... and to your root issues you should set usb on debugging mode and you mustn´t mount sd card just set charge phone instead.

so no matter if mi xperia is e15a and the firmware i would use in the flash tool is e15i

recently i update the rom version of my htc my touch 3g . from RUU . i downloaded from htc brazil site . when i updated. it updated all the radio etc and rom also but the firmware is same andriod 1.5 . but on the site it is froyo . i dont know what is this . i updated many times from other sites also . but result is same all the time i get same andriod 1.5 :'( . tell me plz whats the problem and how to update andriod 2.2 froyo official on htc my touch 3g thnx :crying: sorry for wrong english . i am from pakistan

Could you please install mumilover's Fastboot Commander, run it with your phone connected via USB, and show us the output?
Also, the RUU should have created a log of the installation process. It would list any errors that it encountered. See if there's a file on your PC at C:\ruu_log\ or something similar.
