Hey guys, This is what I'm trying to do with tasker.
I set up a profile for a date. I select the day as Friday, so the profile will be active every Friday.
Next I set an Action in that profile that says Turn on Silent. I select the IF checkbox, and I do
IF %TIME = 01:30
This is in 24h mode. I've also tried
IF %TIME ~ 01:30
IF %TIME = 1:30
IF %TIME ~ 1:30
IF %TIME = 1:30am
IF %TIME ~ 1:30am
But whenever 1:30 rolls around, it doesn't work. So how would I go about doing this?
Basically what I'm trying to do is have tasker turn my phone on silent when I enter class (without using GPS, and based on the time only), and then I'll have it turn off silent when I leave the class (again, based on time only).
Bump...
I've also set a profile to happen on Saturday, then I do new task, and I add a wait until %TIME = 01.30
Then another task below it that says silent mode on.
Still doesn't work. This app isn't even worth the money if it can't be as intuitive as that.

Hi,
I wondered if there is a program I could use to switch off my device, or alternatively could switch off a program after a specified amount of time.
My vision: to use my Wizard (or Universal) to get me off to sleep, as I would a clock radio. When using my clock radio, I set the sleep timer to an hour or whatever and it switches itself off when my hour's dozing is done.
So far I have got some decent radio station URLs for both WMP and Real player, which mean I have the radio part through WiFi to my device by my bed all sorted, but I don't seem to be able to find anything that will switch off the device after a pre-specified length of time.
If any coder has a spare half hour I assume (???) this is a simple task to write, and I will buy you a pint or three in return.
Basic spec would be:
input sleep timer time
countdown to zero
switch off device
Mort Saver is sooo close to it, but can only take 2 digits in the time field and they are seconds not minutes, so 3600 seconds for my hour's listening isn't saved, and it counts down from 36
I also heard how PHM Pocket Plus grinds down WM5 to an unuseable point, so I spose that one's out of the picture as well.
I reckon a lot of people would either benefit from this type of program, or alternatively already have found something which I haven't.
Tell you what, if anyone can do it, I will donate to the forum 10Euro.
Cheers,
Joe
It's been a while since I used it, but I think PocketMusic will do what you want. It will play streamed music and has a sleep timer. That's if you trust the wizard to switch itself off once PM has gone to sleep.
It also has an alarm (if you trust the wizard to wake up when it's supposed to) too ;-)
Hope that helps...

Well it's been an eventful month
Lost old faithful (700wx), bought an 800w just returned it due to keyboard issues, got a treo pro this morning.
Got my pro activated this morning, which seems to be very nice.
But of course things were going too well... lol
I have an IM app that I keep running along with some email apps.
They maintain a connection and notify me about messages.
As soon as the screen turns off, the data cuts out and doesn't kick in again until I turn the phone back on.
I tried Wifi the same thing happens.
Does anyone know how to get around this?
________________________________
Another related topic. The programs in question normally run in the background. When I hit the "X" they should keep running in the background like they did on my other two treo's. On this guy when I hit that X on either app it completely exits.
Is this some kind of OS configuration I need to change?
Thanks,
Kenny
Well I figured out the "X"
Still can't get the data connection to stay on though
Well I found diamond tweak that always keeps the connection on so that'll work.
Can you share the reg change plz? I'd like to do the same while slinging wifi
There is a program called "advance configuration tool" that has a setting to keep wifi on while the screen turns off. Download it and give it a try, the setting is kind of hidden, once you install go to the bottom right softkey and seach for it there. I do not remember exactly where it is but you could google it and you will surely find it.
That works with Wifi connection, should works with dataconnection

^^ Awesome thanks for posting the individual reg changes!
I don't use Advance Config Tool because it messes with some of my reg changes I made so everytime I open/close ACT it changes some stuff and I have to go back and reset them in the reg...
I have the problem that the device does not check my email account. Do I understand it correctly, that no data sessions are active in sleep mode? No GPRS (or above)?!
What's that for a config? You buy a phone where you can set up your mail account to check every 10 minutes your email account but in 99% of the time the phone is in sleep mode and therefore does not check mails...?!
Please say that's not the reason for my problem...
Would these work to keep the GPS alive when I lock the keyboard. I want to turn on GPSTuner and toss the Treo Pro in my pocket. So far my choices are a) leave it unlocked and risk making an unintended call from the trail or b) locking the device using "keylock" and then the GPS shuts down so the GPS does not record my hike.
Is there a way to keep the GPS alive while Keylock is engaged?
The three registry changes did not keep the GPS active when Keyguard was engaged. Shucks. So again...
Is there any way to keep the GPS alive while Keylock is engaged? Thanks.

Is this a problem with all treo pro devices?! Also flexmail does not check mails regularly... The programm is also configured not to close while pushing X...
This is really a really big bug... This phone is almost not usable...
I noticed this article regardin setting up an email account:
http://kb.palm.com/wps/portal/kb/common/article/32429_en.html
Last sentence is:
IMPORTANT: The device power-off timer is reset each time you synchronize. If your sync interval is shorter than the power-off interval, your smartphone doesn't turn off.
If I do understand it correctly that means: power of = no email checking...
this works at any damn phone... such a "feature" is really inappropriate.

No. Let me give you an example. Let's say your phone is set to blank out in 5 minutes. You set your email sync time to 4 minutes. After 4 minutes, your phone polls for new mail. At the same time, the phone resets the power down timer for another 5 minutes. So, by the phone continually resetting the power off for one minute longer than the mail sync time, it never powers down. And, because of that, drains the battery quicker. They're not telling you this is a "feature". They're warning you that this setup is a battery drainer -- better to lose some automatic mail syncing than lose phone power before the end of the day.
Hello kraski,
I think you mistaken me a little.
Problem is in one sentence summarized: scheduled Mail receiving does not work with Palm Treo unless you make above written steps to prevent the phone from going to standby, (most) other WM phones receive mails while in standby...
-> Where is the point to make such a "feature"? In standby the phone also receives phone calls! And SMS... And such an internet phone has to check mails also in standby, w/o discussion or not?!
Any one know of a program that can automatically turn off my internet, location settings from set times??
The reason I ask is because in the night I don't need weather updates, emails or the phone to be stay connected (t-mobile UK) and so I manually turn it off. Thus it will save a lot of battery and will not interrupt my sleep
If there was a program that could turn off at say 1am and then on again at 9am that would be perfect.
Is this possible or am I clutching at straws??
There's a simple solution of switching on Airplane mode in the Comm Manager before you go to bed and back on in the morning. That's all I do. Not sure if there's a program to do it automatically, but this way only takes a couple of seconds each day.
Hope I've helped!
Theres an app called GAlarm (it cost 4.99 euros i think but you can download trial) which when you set your alarm at night you can turn airplane mode on and when you turn the alarm off in the morning it will automatically turn the airplane mode off.
Thanks for the suggestion guys.
The problem with that is that I didn't want to put it into airplane mode just in case someone calls my late at night, some sort of emergency???
But sometimes I get emails late at night (because of people in different time zones) and so I wouldn't like to be woken by that. A phone call I wouldnt mind.
You have to install GProfile. I think it's free. Ask Google (xor bing ).
SBSH do PhoneWeaver and SPB software do Phone Suite both of which can do all you ask (and more)
I went to settings, device, and switched on blocking mode, then tapped blocking mode.
In Features I unchecked turn off alarm and timer.
In Set time I set from 9:30 pm to 7:00 am
Then I made my custom list of contacts allowed through.
At 4:25 am I got a text from an allowed contact, but the blocking never turned off.
I've tried turning it off & on by hand and I've restarted the phone, but the blocking is still active.
Any advice?

Hi guys
Anyone using auto restart feature? (Settings > Device Care > three dots > auto restart)
so today i wanted to test this feature.
- my battery was 70%
- screen was off
- sim card lock disabled
it was around 21:25 so i set a restart schedule for today at 21:30. I thought my phone will auto restart around 21:30.. but it didn't. no idea why. I tested this 2 times..
I don't understand the meaning of this statement "Your phone will restart automatically within 1 hour of the time you set" what does that even mean? if i schedule a fixed time it should restart the phone at that precise moment right?
anyone using this feature and had any luck?
I am using it, 2 time per week with set time 02:00 morning. I can not say if it restart in that time or latter but in morning phone is restarted and I need to insert pin (face or fingerprint is not working)..
Possible that phone restart after target time depending of activity in background?

It says "within 1 hr" so that means itll restart when there's no on going activity anytime between 1 hr before to 1hr after the set time.

Exactly. Worked great to me but I disabled it as my phone did not stop asking for my PIN after restart even though I disabled strong security in security options.
Disable strong security if you want calls or messages to come in after a restart. Its say they will but that's not true many of us learned the hard way.
Ok thankss guys but what about alarm? If I have pin security do I need to unlock or ?
I disable security and alarms are working good after restart. After alarm I need to enter pin to use phone further

ok thanks. its bit weird i mean i closed all my bg apps and then scheduled the time. so im not sure within that 1 hour time frame what exactly the system gonna do.. because i already cleared all bg apps oh well. ill give it a try
The only problem is that you also need to disable sim pin as well... It's the only reason why I don't use that feature.
I tried it one time, but my my alarm didn't work (until logging into your phone after the reboot), so I no longer do the auto-restart.... I just manually restart it every day or two.
Also, always manually restart periodically. Sometimes I turn it off to rest at night! ???
Alarm works normally after auto restart .

Will alarm clocks still work if auto restart whilst sleeping?

I always used that on my s9+ but haven't scheduled it yet on my s10+. It never interfered with alarms or anything.
