[Q] how to get swype back on mytouch 4g

ok so i rooted the phone and was messing around in app planet. it said there was an update for the swype keyboard. so like some apps, i must uninstall first to install the updated version. well this didnt work for swype and now im not able to get it back. i've downloaded multiple version of the swype apk but they dont seem to install. help someone!!!!!

i get error
FAILURE [INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE]

i've installed using astro file explorer and its working fine now. Thanks alot for your help!!!!

i guess that will work too... i updated my post with an update.zip which can be installed from CWM recovery...

I tried to get my changes to keep but they did not so this is how to get less lag on picture taking.
In main of Camera tap Scenes
Change to portrait
flash on
In >>> Camera > Settings > iso
Change to 100
In >>> Camera > Settings > Video resolution
Change to HD
The first pic might actually make an FC, dont worry just try again it always sticks the second time.

Thank you all for the hard work. I tried to restore and got this error so I flashed Khal's back right away. Love the new boot logo! lol. So I still have the boot logo can I just remove the MD5 folders and just restore the normal 4 files now? Thanks for any advice

I thought some things do not work with the korean SBF in our non korean XT720?
or will they work again once you have restored the nandroid?

3- flash CF-Root-S5830-v3.7-b80_boot.zip via cwm.

afaik, cfroot never included deodex, incuding the latest b80 for S5830XWKPN.

I manage to flash, i mount system, but stuck at white boot animation. If flashed not mounting system it will boot but nothing happens not rooted,no user.

yeah. my phone is rooted. i have the superuser app.
what i did was flash XWKPN through odin. flash cf-root b78 through odin. flash cf-root b80 through cwm. then flash update.zip through cwm.

hmm. seems like u guys got alot of problem using this one. i just create another one, this one comfirmed to work on a virgin install of XWKPN. and also i've fixed white flashed bootscreen problem. uploading as we speak.. maybe will finish upload in a hour or so because my connection speed not as godspeed as u guys

[A]Greek in stockwells ideos x5 MIUI ROM

My greek friend i have a twick for you to have greek in your rom the idea came when i was rerading the full post of stockwell and understood the first line of his post "Based on the Desire-Z MIUI.us release available.So i understood that desire z miui rom are compatible with ours. i went to MIUI's official forum and downloaded the greek pack for desire z. I copied all files except build.prop to the same folders .and after i edited my old build.prop in line that says"ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=US" into ro.product.locale.language=el
ro.product.locale.region=GR" after that i reboot into recovery and flashed my dalvick-cash and everythink was done greek exsept miui search bar
i hope i was understood and someone make this into upgradable zip
ps.1compass and fm radio apk's doesnt work so you dont have to copie them but you can give them a try if you are developers.

does it have greek on setting/system/language?if not try to install morelocales2 from market but that was not needed to me

yes there is greek in language settings...and is checked but no greek language in any menus.. also i get weird Force close after these copies.. i dont know maybe someting was not copied correctly

I would suggest copying the apps/framework from the Greek release into the original u8800 miui.us update.zip instead of trying to copy it on the fly as it causes issues (normally you'll lose your accounts and contacts).
You'll need to modify framework-res.apk for wifi and usb tethering to work though.

you do exactly the same steps i folowed for greek but in build.prop you change US to IT and en to it
all the steps made on the fly(this as stockwell metioned will erace your contacts,but i asume you you have them gmailed back up)
for the update language pack you have to follow stockwells way and change the same things in his rom. but i cannot give you now more info because it is my first device and i didnt give it a try yet after the new release maybe i try it.

i did manage to translate it, im gonna upload the full rom in the dev section!

i am happy that my idea inspired someone to do something better.I havent tested your way yet but have you managed to make miui bar english or greek?

there was once a multilanguage pack for ideos X5, but i think that it was discontinued...

dear jasonakos because i see you didn't upload yet the 1.11.4 and 1.11.11 is about to release i will give a hint.You can also use simples desire transalated app and framework-res its the same screan resolution and i will also like to see that it is my method

Instalation instructions

2.reboot in recovery (CWM)

4.reboot to OS

Notes:
Tested with "Aurora the ICS 4.03 for u8800pro - Versions 2.0.0/2.0.2"
In theory it should work with any ICS rom...

i have downloaded it and installed as suggested . no luck. then i unzipped through my phone and installed the apk located inside. (you have to change settings-->security-->unknown sources to install a non market apk) and it installed just fine, but it also resulted in a duplicate "android keyboard" menu. no worries though! all is good. the only thing thats irritating is that it has no dictionary, at least not for greek anyway. i will post again if i find a solution..!

On Aurora ICS 4.0.4 - Version 5.0 update 18 Greek keyboard becomes default and cannot switch to English keyboard.
The default language of the phone is Greek too. How can I have both English and Greek keyboard languages?
