Yeah in my Opinion
HTC Desire or HD
or
Samsung galaxy s1/2
But i think Htc in future go like Apple for a society Phone. Because the last update for example Desire to Desire HD is like the "Taking-Money-Product-Update" from Apple.
Its my opinion of Viewing the things for now. It can be wrong but it acts for me so

I bought a Galaxy S WiFi 5.0 last week.
My opinion, The TFT screen looks not well.
A few questions about the Samsung Galaxy S Wifi x: Playing content via PC speakers
Hi
It sounds as if you've got one of the "new" Samsung Galaxy S Wifi x media players - correct?
Can you tell me how you rate the device?
I'm not really interested in the screen as such since I plan to focus mainly on music and podcast play.
Also do you know any way that you can route the content on the player back out through PC speakers?
Lastly what if any, replacement music/podcasting apps did you select?
Thanks in advance.
I got one off of woot last month (YP-G70 5 inch, it's the Korean version). I like it quite a bit. At first, it felt too large, but I've warmed up to it.
For podcasts, I'm currently using doubleTwist. It's OK, but I'm wishing it was a little bit smarter. I'm replacing a Zune with this and I miss being able to open a podcast "folder" and click "Play all new." I wish it would track and indicate which episodes I've already player. I don't know if I like how it syncs with he doubleTwist desktop app. It seems a bit bare-bones.
There's also BeyondPod, which downloads podcasts directly to the device, but I didn't like it enough to pay $7 for it.
I'm also playing with Akimbo and MortPlayer for audiobooks. Not sure which I like more yet.

Could I press you a little further?
Do the Korean version have more onboard RAM? I also have a zune & I liked a lot of things about the software. Do you know if the Korean versions are available outside of Korea?

Hi folks.
My gf had been offered a wildfire as an option for a work phone and she asked me if it's worth getting. This will be her first step outside the Nokia candy bar phone world.
Using a desire myself I cannot seem to offer any help as I have no idea how the lighter specs on the wildfire effect the whole android/sense experience. Web reviews tend to state that it's good for the price, whatever that means, or that it's slower and lower res than phones costing twice as much - not a fair comparison.
So, if you're just after a phone to text, call, email, calendar, gps navigate, occasionally jump on the web and tether to a laptop does the wildfire stack up?
Any guidance from users (esp those who've made a similar jump) would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it will be perfectly fine for the purposes you have described, although getting used to the touch keyboard will be a little bit steep after being only on Nokia candybars. Check my sig.

I think it will stack up pretty good, I am certainly happy with mine. As long as you don't want mobile gaming the Wildfire is a very nice phone.
Excuse me if I am off-topic, but I think it's no good opening a new thread.
My daily usage is similar to the OP. One question about playing video on wildfire.
If I convert some with reasonable resolution e.g. 240x320, will it play without any lag?
Also, with the wildfire specs, will it be the problem with future releases of android?
I didn't mean in the official way, but ability to messing with roms e.g. CM7 will be good.
(just need opinions)
Thanks in advance.
I did the same jump!
I am very pleased with the opportunities the Wildfire gives me.
I came from using traditional phones as nokia 6230 (Yeah old phone). I used it on stock rom for 4 months, which was good enough for the things you mention, but then i finished my exams and wanted to play with the phone. Now i am on cyanogenmod, since i wanted the extra performance so i could play games and nerd around with it.
I would say she should go for it.
Hope my post can help her to make the decision.

240x320 videos should play nice on the Wildfire, but, do check the format first.
Secondly, so far, the future roadmap of Android is not known. Gingerbread is out (Which will come on the Wildfire, courtesy CM7). The next known Android version is Honeycomb (3.0), which is optimized for tablets, and, will definitely not work on the wildfire due to its high system requirements (High Res Screen, 1GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM).
After Honeycomb, the next version for the smartphone devices is still not known, as stated above (Its probably named Ice Cream), and hence, speculating it at this point of time whether it will work on the wildfire or not is no good.

Yes, video plays fine. You want a H.264 video stream (Baseline Profile, Level 1.3) in a MP4 container.
The video will be pixelated compared to a iphone due to the low screen res

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like a no brainer that this device will run the simple smartphone tasks relatively well. Thumbs up have been passed onto her.
I can see that this is the start of a slippery slope, and she'll be coveting my desire (or the next shiny new android hotness) in no time. May provide me with an excuse to get and upgrade and hand her the desire.

Bye guys.
I came to android world by having a tytn 2 which I enjoyed alot, haret-ed my ass oof, tried alot of roms back then.
I became so obsessed with android, I received a wildfire for my birthday. At first it seemed an upgrade, but then I've seen what means to have a cpu without a gpu struggling even to animate simple 2d stuff.
So, here we are, three months later and I cooked this idea I want a new phone with android. So I've gone with HD2 to be able to switch back to wm if I ever needed it at any time.
So here's my advice:
If it's your kids/girlfriends phone, leave it as is. If it's your phone and you are sick of it and it doesn't meet your expectations, sell it while it's sparkling new, to be able to get as much money off it, add some quids and get a real phone.
I will be less active on this wildfire subform, so I wish you happy buzzing days to come.

Not as easy as you might think! While it's a great device for lots of things, they are very poor at actual calls - you know, their primary reason for existence!
I had to get rid of mine, could not take calls at my desk (Could hear incoming, but outgoing voice was distorted/broken up). Got a Motorola, and can sit in the same place and have a normal conversation.

When you start a thread like you are bored with your Galaxy S2 you cant really expect people to take you seriously mate especially on the SGSII forums, in the time since ive had my phone ive never been bored quite the opposite actually.
There are many HD games for the SGSII, lots of games in the market, as many apps as the Apple app store and much more for free too just search.
Enjoy your phone.

People say the Android market is not up to scratch but I find it adequate, with the recent 10 billion apps promotion and the free apps on Samsung Apps it's getting decent.
Loads of free apps compared to iOS.
It's actually getting better day by day compared to say this time last year!
As for the phone, best phone still available nothing beats it at the moment and wont until next year.
Enjoy it, grab some apps and start experimenting
Thanks jonny and nikz for the mature replies.
Anyway, what day and time does the android market get updated?
Is there anyway I can buy Android apps without credit card?
Giftcards are the only way I can get them

- Get many good and free games via Samsung App
- Play any audio and video format

After having a galaxy s (still going) and seeing Samsung's lack of software support, on that alone I'd choose the HTC ONE. I'd be happy with the hardware upgrade of the S4, but the ONE seems like its of better build quality.
Not only that, but the whole PR debacle where Samsung was revealed to have been spreading bad user reviews of the HTC One also casts a shadow of doubt on anybody ridiculously badmouthing the One. Good job Samsung!
Hopefully the fact that almost all of the reviews mention the HTC One in comparison will give it the media exposure it is lacking due to minimal advertising.
Wow is that confirmed to be true? But yeah its some media exposure for HTC is always good.

Is nexus 4 good on hardware given that it's made by lg?
Should I buy htc one x+ or galaxy s3 instead?
What are your recommendations?
I can afford upto 30k or 550_600$.
HTC One costs around 43k,if you can afford that much then I would really recommend it.Nexus 4 would be a good choice too.

Yes
Then Slymobi must have something to say about it.Nexus 4 to me looks good, has a much better build quality than any of the Samsung devices.
I'd go for the N4. Purely because your getting a pure google handset, with new updates guaranteed (unlike HTC. Who sometimes cancel or don't even bother to update devices), you'll also get something that's easy to BL unlock, root and experiment with. And being a nexus device, I'm sure there would be a lot try out!

The build quality is just great! Just the speakers and the camera are not as good as the HTC one's. I had both phones One and Nexus and this glass look looks just so much better than the "plastic" from the HTC One X. And it's also easier to root than the HTC phone. It was a pain in the ass to root the One X and to flash ROMs on it. The Nexus is definitly the better choice also in relation to the money,
I'd get the nexus 4. I already have a nexus 4 and it is brilliant. It feels more premium than the galaxy s3 and the htc one x+. Plus it is easier to root and will have excellent developer support. You also get the newest updates from Google themselves.
I have the one x, great device, doesnt feel "cheap" at all, n4, while having more "premium" feeling also can break more easy so keep that in mind.
Also, hox is easy to root, dont know why is everyone saying its hard lol.

Ive seen it. Frankly Id prefer android!
The hardware of the N4 is amazing for the price. Fastest phone I've ever used for sure. For value/speed, nothing comes close.
The glass back is fragile so just make sure you purchase the right protection.
Jellybean 4.2 is so good you could use it without the need for rooting

Never happened to me...strange. I think the 4.2.2 update solved this issiue for the most people. I think that happens to maybe 1 of 1000 N4 devices. And if yours is affected you can send it back and order a new N4.
You can still choose the HOX its also a nice device and it has almost no bugs but its got that crappy Tegra processor which seems to be not very familiar with the android system itself and some Gameloft games.
