Finally...
Samsung has released the opensource for the Epic D700 on its Open Source Release Center site.
EB13.tar.gz file is there too.
Go check it out
http://opensource.samsung.com
Go to mobile-> mobile phone
and search for D700
Well... yay.
cool!!!!!!
So is this the real deal? Do the devs now have the source? If so, double yay!

Should this be reposted to the development section?

can somebody explain to idiots such as myself what to do with this? is this a fully functional update? can we flash it in odin? will it keep my bevarage hot? is it useful to the non-devs, or is it just a source from which devs can find recipes?
thanks in advance. ducking.
Nice! I've been checking that site every day for about a week since the 'announcement' hooplah started.
Has anyone verified the source is current though? The 'blank' marked source has been there since pre-DI18 release.
*opens champagne*
Someone get the devs attention.

Is this really Froyo and Source? Can any devs verify?
This should be odin flashable vesion of official froyo. With the source we can finally make good roms like cyanogen or MUIU (however you spell it)

I downloaded the file and extracted it with 7zip. There is a Platform.tar and Kernel.tar
I'm not a dev, and could be wrong, but I don't think its flashable.
Regardless, the devs need to see this.
it useless without the binary kernel's initramfs but you can use older dk28 kernel initramfs!
That's it fellas. Lets get some root to.this.

downloading it also, if it isn't flashable then what do you do with it?
if it is infact goiung to release ota on monday, then do i have to go back to di18 stock to get it?

Guys, this is source, hence the release on Samsung's opensource website. For devs only. Its a very good thing, but you probably won't have anything to flash today.

Is nobody else interested in this? Seems like we would be able to build a non TW Eclair rom out of it.
Is this Froyo or eclair?

Yes. This is the old JF6/JH7 source code which was used to build the old voodoo kernel and the old UV/OC kernel.

Oh, well I saw post #5, but someone mentioned sombionix had 1.3.4 in his signature and the sourceforge site is only 1.3.2 test. I thought there was somewhere else where he had newer versions posted =/ Thanks though =)
why has he stop the public release ?
These are nice to know that there is some dev that is continuing, but why has he not post them here at XDA, and why has he stop the public release ?
What about a change Log?
May be he's posting them at the TW site?

Yes, there is no default browser included because the way the default browser was build in JVQ does not allow it to be deodexed.
There are several differences between code contained in .odex and normal .dex files - have a look here for example
The .odex files are build with specific dependencies and baksmali, in this case, is not capable to detect which is the correct dependency or if there are more of them.
So called de-compilation of .dex or .odex files is actually reverse engineering so it was just a matter of time until a change would appear.
We are right now waiting for an update from brut.all and JesusFreke. Hopefully we'll get some update soon.
I have decided to keep everything on my forum as is much easier to manage bugs and other things.
All downloads are hotlinked. Multiupload will be used only as a backup solution

Uh-oh, was debating on whether or not to flash the latest Cog ROM, but it looks like Continuum is going to be on my phone in the near future
But here's a quick question -- already on the i9000 GB Bootloaders -- any advantage (or reason) to switch to the KF1 bootloaders before flashing the ROM (since Cezar was the one who released the 1-click for the KF1, I thought I would ask...)
What is the difference between this and beta 2?

Personally, i rather have i897 bootloaders on a i897 device. Flash an i9000 kernel and see how many things wont work. That makes me think that it might be a similar situation with bootloaders.
Is a stock theme available, like in 5.6?

Now that most of us have an unlocked bootloader, is an overclocked kernel module possible?

I think we need kernel source for that if not already given.

Isn't the source already released by Motorola? I downloaded the kernel from Motorola's website and looked thru some battery drivers, but didn't look for any frequency CPU stuff.
Ok thank you for the clarification. Now we just have to cross our fingers for CM7... And I thought kholk was making a kernel module... did he ever get it working?

ok. people put 10char in their message because XDA requires there to be 10 characters in any post. then you add how ever many slashes to equal 10 characters.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/atrix.motorola/files/
The kernels are available there.
Yes, this is official Motorola.
http://opensource.motorola.com/ tells you to go to http://sourceforge.net/motorola/ and from there I clicked "All Motorola Android Projects" then "ATRIX" then "Downloads"
Wasn't very hard to find at all.
To download it click "Looking for the latest version? Download kernel.tar.gz (XX.X MB)" (currently 86.1 MB)
I was gonna compile an overclock kernel, but would rather not mess with 2.2 if 2.3 is around the corner. Maybe ill get around to it this weekend for 2.2 for ****s and giggles(obviously we have no 2.3 source yet)

Why not try 2.2.2 to see what you can do, and get familiar with the kernel, then do 2.3.4 for real.

oh that makes since....
This is built from the SDK port for the HTC Sensation, combined with the boot.img and other data from the Cyanogenmod 7.1 Alpha 2.1 release for the TouchPad. I've replaced a bunch of the files in an effort to get it to boot, but no dice so far.
Also, I can't seem to get my TouchPad to restore from a Clockwork backup - it works, but it blackscreens and hard-reboots just like this does.
Would love for some help getting it up and running.
