Hd2 ram & rom?

Hi all,
I am still using my P3600 and I am planning to buy HD2 in Hong Kong.
I have two questions regarding the hardware memory~
1) Does all HD2 comes with 448MB RAM which can become 576MB with
special radio ROM as mention in Wiki?
2) Are there two versions of ROM size? 512MB and 1024MB?
Would there be cooked ROM so big that it is over 512MB?
Thank you all for your time and answer~
Godspeed,
Volospin
yes, first the HD2 has 448mb RAM, after upgrading to latest radio u get 576mb )
but u cant change the ROM size..
only US T-Mobile HD2 got 576mb RAM and 1gb ROM from the start, others can get 576mb RAM but not the 1gb ROM
and i dont think that there will be ever a winmo rom wich is bigger than 512mb...
Hi D4rkSoRRoW,
Thanks for your reply.
I think I need to crawl some thread or post regarding dual booting WM and Andriod.
Hope 512MB is enough for both~
Godspeed,
Volospin
there won't be fully working android on the hd2 for a while yet. don't think about android as part of your decision.
Thanks, Samsamuel...
What about WM7 as option of HD2?
Various sources saying that it will be free upgrade and also there will not be upgrade at all.
Maybe I really need to wait for Obsession.
Microsoft said no, it will not have an upgrade to wm7... so it seems we will really dont get an official upgrade :/
but yea, hope is not gone yet, someone already ported wm7 to hd2.. we'll see..
just look at the hd2 as it is right now.. you like windows mobile 6.5? buy it. maybe you'll get WM7 and android afterall

For the moment stay on previous version (1.48 ore 1.66 Singapore rom) Don't use fore the moment the EU 3.14 Rom.
From the moment HTC released a Singapore 3.14 rom and there will be a HSPL version who is compatible with SPL 3.03 you can used the new one.
But fore the moment take the older one!

[Q] how to install android on T-mobile

I have installed Nand Android to HTC HD2, and I want to install Android to the HTC HD2 T-mobile too- Is the installation the same?

choode according to the hd 2 version 512 or 1024

If you plan on flashing a new radio rom, just make sure to use a xx.50.xx radio or you will brick your HD2.

Change HD2 with TMOUS HD2?

I will change my HD2 with TMOUS HD2 one. What do you think about that? I am from Eastern Europe, is this a problem?
Is there enough Android and WM6.5 ROMs for T-Mobile version.
Is it worth the whole, this change?
512MB ROM more
Yes it is worth the change as just about all, if not all, Android ROMs will run on the TMOUS. And most custom ROMs now are based on the 3.14 stock TMOUS ROM. I absolutely love my TMOUS. Just remember you can not flash a 2.04.50.xx, 2.05.50.xx, or any x.xx.51.xx radio to the TMOUS or you will brick the phone. So never ever flash a non T-Mobile stock ROM to it. Also do not flash the 2.01 ROM in the T-Mobile HTC HD2 test and stock ROM thread here on XDA to it as it has a 2.05.50.11 radio and will brick a TMOUS.
Are the Android builds for T-Mobile HD2 better than regular HD2?

You must know more about it then mecause I am notaware of any Android ROM that is spacificaly for the TMOUS. If it is please pointmy tothem and I will try them out. I currently am using Hyperdroid on my TMOUS and it is great. I went withHyperdroidas I did stood bit of reasearching on the Android ROMs and thought Hyperdriid sounded best to me, now that was just my opinion not a definitive statement. I have a link to it in my sig if youwantto check it out. Nowasfor your question most of the Android ROMs run great on the TMOUS fromwhat Ihave read. I am also member of the T-Mobile forums and every one therethathas went NAND Android loves any Android ROM they try.

[Q] Which version to get?

I'm thinking about getting an HD2 in the near future due to its hackability. I saw that there is the global HD2 (HTC branded), TMO branded, and the US Cellular one. Is there a difference? I saw a huge price difference on eBay. If so which one is best?
It depends if you want 3G with your carrier.. Each HD2 has a different 3G band so make sure that if and when you do get one that its compatible with your carriers 3G or else be stuck with EDGE
And the Tmobile US HD2 has a 1G nand while the others have 512MB.. So the Tmo HD2 has more memory, but for now its only taken advantage of with Windows Mobile 6.5... MAGLDR had to stay compatible with all the HD2 models so it only uses 512MB and then thats available to Android/WP7.. Software wise the Tmobile HD2 can not use radio firmwares that have .51 since those are for the other international Versions and using any of those radios will brick your phone and just be an expensive pile of plastic an metal
Difference between all of them
Memory (nand)
3G Frequency Bands
And in some cases Build Quality

Let iterate some here.
The International version has 512MB of flash memory (NAND memory) and 448MB of RAM.
The T-Mobile US version has 1024 MB of flash memory (NAND memory) and 576MB of RAM.
The T-Mobile (TMOUS) HD2 can not be flashed with a 2.04.50.xx, 2.5.50.xx, or any x.xx.51.xx radio version or youcwill brick it.
As for 3G you are correct in that part, but only the T-Mobile US HD2 and the Telstra T9193 HD2 (Australian HD2) are victims to not being whale to use 3G with every carrier.
MAGLDR was made compatible with the T-Mobile HD2 this making it sort of the same as a 3.14 Win Mo ROM that once combined with a 2.05.50.02 radio or a 2.15.50.14 radio it unlocks the extra 128MB of RAM in a international HD2.
Thanks for the replies. I really don't care about 3G bands here in the US (will mostly be using my HTC Incredible) and will probably use it for wifi only, but I do go to China a few times a year so I have a local sim card. I think that would make it best if I got the international version, right?
So MAGLDR is a bootloader that allows you to use Android and WP7 right? I'm not sure if I'm clear on what happens: Even though the TMOUS version has bigger NAND and more RAM the NAND can't be used in other OSs, just WM6, and the 128 MB ram in the International version can be unlocked?
Thanks for helping a noob

Yes you are right about MAGLDR it is a bootloader that allows you to boot Android or WP7 from NAND. The way MAGLDR works is it runs after the original bootloader of the HD2 so you don't lose it. MAGLDR is flashed just like a ROM and is stored in the ROM partition of the NAND memory. But MAGLDR is more than just a bootloader though. If you have not already checked it out, click on my guide linked in my sig. I give a total break down of MAGLDR and all of it's options.
If you install a NAND Android ROM or WP7 using MAGLDR it is in the NAND memory and Windows Mobile is gone. When you power on the HD2 you will see MAGLDRCfor a couple of secounds and then your ROM boots.
There is also another bootloader that is just for Android ROMs on HD2 call Cedesmiths (L]little (K)kernel or cLK that allows you to use ADB fastboot commands. Unlike MAGLDR with cLK you can charge your HD2 while it is turned off. You can actually us ROM manager with it, and PPP. Using cLK your HD2 boots striaght to the Android ROM just like a native Android device, you do not see the bootloader like you do with MAGLDR. the cLK has made the HD2 as close to a native Android device as it can be.

Let me make a correction here. You can use all of the NAND on a TMOUS Android ROM and not just 512, that's why you can flash DHD ROMs without having to have sd ext stuff on a TMOUS HD2 but not on a euro HD2, because it has more NAND.
WP7 is the only thing that basically treats your phone as if it only has 512 NAND, so for Android NAND the TMOUS HD2 is actually better.
Also tmous is ~1mm taller...
