Ok so I boughtmy phone today and I rooted. I ran rommanager and flashed clockwork recovery and downloaded a froyo rom and went into rommanager and clicked install rom in rmmanger. I chose the .zip and clicked wipe data and cache. It reboots and goes to stock recovery. It won't boot into Clockwork I tried many different root methods but nothing works. Any help would be apreciated.

rom manager is not supported by the stock kernel- to use clockwork you need to use the one click on the dev forum
Can you use the Z4 method?

Happened to me too. Once you install Clockwork Recovery with Rom manager, turn off phone, then turn it on but hold the vol down and camera buttons until the samsung.com screen. Then viola Clockwork recovery.
Basically I got both recoveries on here after using the one click method. All apps that reboot into recovery goto stock which I do need a fix for.

Please post questions in General section.
do you have clockwrk mod recovery?
Download rom manager from the market and flash clockword mod recovery and then choose the "install zip from sdcard" option
Idk how update.zips work, but I never installed a rom using one lol

Are you trying to use the stock recovery or do you have clockwork mod installed?
You won't be able to load roms from the stock recovery. It checks for a valid signature before it flashes.
I don't have a pc I did the clockwork from rom manager

I had this problem too, when I rooted. Do a factory reset and retry the rooting. Once rooted, you wont have a problem with Clockwork Recovery.
You cant use rom manager to install clockwork. It doesn't work on the phones stock kernel.
I recently flashed the new kingdom port from virus and converted my ext2 to ext3 using amon ra 2.3. now whenever i try to flash cwm rom manager says successful but it always boots to amon ra and doesnt flash, any help fixing this would be great
Edit: I'm a retard and this should've been in Q&A...

You can try 3 different methods. First try flashing cwm3.0 twice from rom manager before rebooting. Second under the advanced options choose erase recovery before flashing new recovery. Third flash the recovery as a PC36IMG

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Stop using ROM Manager and do everything in Hboot or recovery.
The ONLY thing I use ROM Manager for anymore is to fix permissions.

Remove the -1 in the name, place the file on the root of your sdcard, and then flash in the bootloader.

Exactly!
Using Rom Manager on the Evo is like using training wheels on a racing bike. You're gonna wipe out!
Thanks guys I appreciate the advice and sorry again about this being in general

You need to flash a custom recovery image. Your looking at the stock recovery with the red triangle. The easiest way to do this would be using rom manager

I just updated from CWM purple to CWM 5.0.2.7 and installed ROM Manager.
In ROM Manger when I "Reboot into Recovery" the phone restarts, runs a script in the CWM screen (yellow on black text) and then restarts. I can 3-finger boot to CWM 5.0.2.7, however.
Any clue what is going on?
I am planning to switch to CleanGB, but would like to make sure everything is working first.
Thanks in advance.
Stock EI22 + GPS fix + root/CWM 5.0.2.7
Even if u have already installed cwm 5, u gotta install it also from the rom manager app itselt
My phone is Captivating, Fascinating, Epic and also LEGENDARY!!
OK. You would need to install a kernel that supports it.
