Screen time out - Fascinate General

Any one know how to keep your screen on during a phone call? I am using super clean 2.2 voodoo. I have tried a widget, an app and setting my screen time out to 10 min. I have noticed that the stay awake option in development is gone. No matter what I do the screen times out in 20 sec or so. Thanks.

Anyone experience any power button delay?

I've noticed that whenever I press the power button to wake my phone up, there usually is a delay from the time I press it til the lock screen comes up. The delay is about 2-3 seconds. Anyone else seeing this delay or is it just me? Im running a stock clean unrooted vibrant.

this also happens to me but it's not that often. Try lagfix?
Oh is this something that can be fixed with the lag fix? Can anyone with lagfix testify to this?

This isn't fixed with a lagfix; and it is quite normal with this phone. Custom ROMs, in my experience, do a good job with it though.
I'm not really sure, because when i have my delays i think it's only a lag.
Lagfix wont help.
I have lagfix and this happenstoo.
1 reason is... when you click power your phone fades in or out so that causes it to delay a second then it just does it again for a second to get everything started and ready.
No real way to fix. Its usually on every vibrant but the ones with super fast ROMS wont have it.

My phone often takes up to 10 seconds to turn off the screen which is super annoying.

10 seconds?! I STRONGLY reccomend you do a full master reset.

Screen timeout during calls

This is getting annoying how can it be fixed, can it be fixed?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
I notice it, too, with Super Clean v4 and the matching kernel. When in a call, the screen turns off within 2 seconds, no matter how I get it to come back on (pull awya from ear or press power button). Makes it near impossible to use automaed call systems.
It sucks why do we have the screen sensors if they dont work during calls its not supposed to time out unless something triggers it

I do not have such problems. My screen stays on unless I get close to the sensor. Once I move away the screen comes back. What are you running? Kernel / rom
Stock dl09

When I get out of work I'll check my wife's stock dl09 to see if the issue is present cuz my rooted voodoo dj05 is sensor dependent
Yeah I'm having the same problem, I am using Super Clean DJ05. I have to unlock the screen every time I take it off from my ear, no matter how long it's been.
I only had that problem on my stock rom after I disabled a needed service.
I think it was one of the voicemail services. Can't remember which one off hand.

I had that probably till I cleaned my screen

My wife doesn't have that problem but my sister does. Both stock dl09. Odd I can't figure out why.
Had the same issue with the kernel in the RubikS 1.7 OP. Switched to the 1/23 JT V5 and it went away.

Screen blackout

Hello, First post long time reader.Ha. My question is has anyone ever have problem on their Dx with the backlight? Drained battery completely,,plugged in,,fired it up,, just bottom four buttons lit and the screen was responsive. I let it charge then eventually it worked. Is this normal or should I exchange it before it permanently stays fuc*&d? Thx guys

This may not be a problem. There may just have not been enough battery to power the screen turning on. I'm pretty sure you're fine
Thx buddy!

Black screen for a sec on wake up?

Black screen for a sec on wake up? I know this is a really anal and stupid question. Ive just rooted my arc using gingerbreak. When I wake the device up using the home button, there is a black screen for a brief moment before I get to the slide to unlock screen. I dont remember this before rooting. Can anyone else test this for me? Thanks.

Momentary black screen

Anyone had this one? Since 4.2, the screen momentarily goes black, with a similar transition to hitting the task manage soft key, but transiting to the left in landscape, then flicks back to normal use. Happens in apps...screws up some games, puts others into pause mode as if a task has been switched. Thought it might have had something to do with auto rotation going a bit bonkers, but not sure....
Not heard any reports...have looked through the forum, couldn't find anything.
Weird...it just did it then....but the keyboard stayed on screen, xda disappeared to the left...
Any thoughts and thanks in advance

Thank God! Thought it was just me!

Ok..just happened again while in portrait mode. Definitely saw it flick to landscape. Rotation is locked btw.
Hmmmmm.....

It happened to me three times last night after update to 4.2 :crying:
Ok...so, while sitting in a tedious meeting, Nexus in landscape, propped up with its folding case the screened flipped upside down and stayed upside down. 3 times. My ipad using colleague giggled.
Any way to recalibrate the tilt sensor? Or any other suggestions?
It's not the end of the world but...there must be a patch solution or other? Before 4.1 I used the auto rotate app, I forget its correct name...
Thoughts?

I used logcat to monitor the Nexus 7 until the random rotation happened. After looking at the log I realized that it was always the same process being activated and that process was nVision.
Since nVision always rotates into landscape mode I was suspicious that perhaps when it tried to update itself in the background it was changing the screen orientation. I disabled notifications and then uninstalled the app and the problem has completely gone away. I have had no random rotations at all in the last 24 hours.

Thanks very much. Ill give it a try and report back

Okie doke.
For the record.... 48 hours and no random flips to landscape and back. I'd be willing to be a substantial amount of money this was the culprit. However, whether this is a 4.2 issue per se vs. Bad behavior in nVision is an open Question.

Ok. Disabling nvision notifications still flips out. Will uninstall later.
Thanks again

Uninstall it. I still think it checks in and screws your screen, whether it shows you the notification or not.

Uninstalled...all good so far. Woooooo!
Cheers!
