Build:- 2.0.2.A.0.24
new? lol thats been out for months get .435 then you will see changes
I kinda jumped from 1.6 to the 2.1.435 update, and the two things that bug me are the changes to message format, and the loss sound on/off/vibrate from one screen away.
435 is the laster rom
It has been out for sometime u should get the latest .435
Below are all of the certified HW/SW versions of this product 2.1.1.A.0.16 Feb 3, 2011
a search wouldnt at least pulled up 3 or 4 threads already on this

I've been getting a notification about a security update on my magic. It claims to have already downloaded it (4.6mb), and is asking to install and reboot.
Does anyone know any details about the update? Version numbers, etc? What it changes?
Forgot to mention my current versions:
baseband - 62.50s.20.17u_2.22.19.26I
Kernel - 2.6.27-00392-g8312baf [email protected] #72
Build - crb17
I never received such notification. When I go to System Update, it says that my phone is already up to date. It got exactly the same version as yours.
Me neither - all versions the same. :-o
all Magics with CRB17 software will soon receive an over the air
(OTA) software update approximately 4.5 MB in size
This is a security patch, and nothing to worry about it, everyone with the affected software should get it in the next week.
I'm more worried about it blocking any future hacked firmwares being installed - eg the new rooted firmware 6.0
Upgrade in Vodafone ES network
I have just updated the firmware of my magic. It had CRB17. After the upgrade the new software versions are:
CRB43
62.50S.20.17U_2.22.19.26I
2.6.27-00393-g6607056
bye
i have received today the same notification in my htc (vodafone spain). But, what about the root??
@IsAhT sorry but I did not have it rooted before the update, so I cannot tell you the effects of this upgrade over a rooted terminal.
got the same thing right now...i just updated it..
i guess .......... if it is just a update to the firmware system should not effect the rooting.
How does the update process work? I'm on a rooted Vodafone UK Magic, but using the Orange mobile network. I've installed Haykuro's SPL, and About phone -> System updates says it's up to date, but the build is CRB17.
Maybe I should give his 6.0r1 ROM a try...
well i am on voda uk and i am not getting any updating because im using the 6.0 sapphire rom were the system update is disable obviously.
that you are on orange and still running CRB17 should be able to get the update. i think they roll the update gradually like TMOBILE done with the G1 to upgrade to cupcake 1.5,they started with 10% then 20% and so on of the G1 population till they hit 100%.
so after the rooting process installing haykuro's SPL, whats the 'best' rom to choose and where can i get it?.
im on CRB17 as well after trying to get root, which i dont think worked. Is there pre-rooted rom floating about?
im on vodafone UK magic as well
Hey, I just got my phone a few days ago, its
X10I
1.6 firmware
1.1.25 baseband
2.6.29-rel kernel
the build number is R2BA020
every time I search for an update it says my phone is up to date (but we are on 026 while I'm still on 020, can someone tell me why? I live in USA, but I know my phone is imported from Singapore.
a lot of people are at least 2 updates ahead of me, can someone tell me why the update wont work here? I think the phone is released here if you check the SE website.
I think different countries get upgrades at different times. The people with R2BA026 manually upgraded it.
The thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711907 has info about upgrading in post # 4.
Option 4
"FULL UPDATE FROM ANY ROM ANY VERSION - ROOTED R2BA024 - with new keys
http://hotfile.com/dl/58222228/feec8..._F3v2.rar.html"
Should update any version to R2BA024 which you can then upgrade to R2BA026 via
Option 5
UPDATE FROM ROOTED R2BA024 TO ROOTED R2BA026 X10i ONLY
http://hotfile.com/dl/58265810/8bef0..._x10i.rar.html
You might want to double check with someone else since I am not experienced nor have I upgraded from 24 to 26 myself.
my phone isn't rooted though, anyone else in USA with x10i still stuck on 020?
Might be worth a read of this - forum.xda-developers.com
This may be a stupid question, but what is the different between the JI6 update and the 2.1 update1?
I just got a replacement phone from T-Mob and it claims to have firmware version 2.1 update1 but the baseband version is JFD.
Or maybe I'm trying to understand what things are in baseband vs. what is in firmware. I assume one difference is that its easy to change the firmware, but that does not help me much.
Thanks
JI6 is latest and 2.1 update 1 is the old version
I really don't know if there was a pre release version 2.1 (without update 1)...
as far as i know, the very first vibrant came with 2.1 update 1 (or JFD), and that's what you have now.
You should get this updated to JI6...

There are no stupid questions, only stupid answers....
Eclair 2.1 update1 is the stock ROM that comes pre-installed on the Vibrant.
JFD is the launch version of that firmware.
The newest revision of the Eclair 2.1 update1 is JI6 which, I'm sure you've seen a thread or two about, attempts to fix many of the issues users were having with GPS/Sync/etc. If you realllllly wanted to simplify it, and I know this is completely wrong but follow me here, you have Eclair 2.1 update1(JFD). JI6 would essentially be Eclair 2.1 update1(JI6).
Since you've got a vanilla Vibrant, I'd suggest you charge up your phone and head over to the Kies Mini page to grab the JI6 update. Of course you could also wait for the OTA (over the air) update if you felt like it.
Has anyone thats gotten the update posted what the following versions list?

we all know that it usually takes a few weeks to get released + all those firmware release never get to public but just some.
Version 146 is available here in Slovenia - phone from Germany.
I tried to update but there was some error, so i'll try later again.
I can confirm version 146 being available for Germany phones. Didn't try to install it yet though.
They've also added 3.0.1.A.0.149
Well, just tried to install 146 and failed with something like "Unable to install or start phone software update components"...

Very strange. I check again today and they have removed 149 there.
what are the improvements ? 3.0.1.A.0.145 vs 3.0.1.A.0.146? both are 2.3.3 ?
A 3.0.1.A.0.150 ECO Jun 30, 2011
I've got the A 3.0.1.A.0.146 on my German unbranded Arc since yesterday.
A friend of mine claims that according to SE support the changes are:
- improved video and foto quality
- some smaller bug fixed
- improved wifi connection stability
- improved battery life a bit
However, the update wipes all you data and resets the phone... quite funny for such a small update when the last massive one just worked on the fly.
I haven't noticed anything upon now, but I never had problems with my wifi and obviously I can't judge the battery life up to now.
What about your root status?
How come only germany got this .146 version and other regions are left behind? Is it only country-specific update?
Sent from my Sony Arc thru XDA app
@Rycon33, they must be slowly rolling out the updates. Just wait a while.
It's just strange coz when they rolledout .145 the timing difference on each region is only by days. And this .146 has been in germany since late-june I think so I thought it could only be country-specific update. The wifi issue is just so annoying that I'm looking badly for an update that fixes it.

Sorry, I didn't have root before. (I wanted to but was pretty lazy about it ^^)
However, I don't think there's a chance that root stays. It's a total wipe out of the current software and it wasn't available OTA.
Something I've noticed: sudden reboots are back... not liking this. -_-
I also think it's strange Germany got it first... they were quite late on the last update. Also strange that there aren't any official news from SE on it. :/

You can install July/August/September updates from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6/development/ota-nokia-6-ta-1021-monthly-ota-zip-t3669920, then install October/November#1/November#2/December from this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-6/help/nokia-6-ota-update-ddls-t3721424. I bricked my TA-1025 a couple of months ago as well and reflashed it with MENA firmware, then applied updates manually from June up to October.

Yes, I installed a couple of TA-1021 updates on my TA-1025. Both models are almost identical, the difference in supported LTE bands and hearing aid support. In terms of compatibility previous build version matters.
Before installing update manually just ensure it's suitable:
1. unzip OTA file
2. go to META-INF/com/android/
3. open metadata file and look for "pre-build-incremental"
4. if it matches the build number from your phone's About screen you're safe to apply the update
The ROM from MENA topic is WW, all those OTA update zips are also WW. If you're sure you had second Nov update, but Dec update broke your phone I think you possibly had non-WW ROM or build version mismatch.
same happend with me i applied 3.72b update on my 3.72a t1021 with adb .got bricked

The problem is solved now, i installed mena rom then july, august, september, october 7.1.2, november 13 update, november 29 update, then december TA-1025 update, everything is fine but still no update available for nokia 6 oreo beta.
Sorry for bringing this old topic up, but I was wondering, is it possible to installed the latest Security patch onto an older version of Android by any chance?
So let's say I'm on Nougat or Oreo but want the security patch from Pie or 10?
