Hey, I just got my phone a few days ago, its
X10I
1.6 firmware
1.1.25 baseband
2.6.29-rel kernel
the build number is R2BA020
every time I search for an update it says my phone is up to date (but we are on 026 while I'm still on 020, can someone tell me why? I live in USA, but I know my phone is imported from Singapore.
a lot of people are at least 2 updates ahead of me, can someone tell me why the update wont work here? I think the phone is released here if you check the SE website.
I think different countries get upgrades at different times. The people with R2BA026 manually upgraded it.
The thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711907 has info about upgrading in post # 4.
Option 4
"FULL UPDATE FROM ANY ROM ANY VERSION - ROOTED R2BA024 - with new keys
http://hotfile.com/dl/58222228/feec8..._F3v2.rar.html"
Should update any version to R2BA024 which you can then upgrade to R2BA026 via
Option 5
UPDATE FROM ROOTED R2BA024 TO ROOTED R2BA026 X10i ONLY
http://hotfile.com/dl/58265810/8bef0..._x10i.rar.html
You might want to double check with someone else since I am not experienced nor have I upgraded from 24 to 26 myself.
my phone isn't rooted though, anyone else in USA with x10i still stuck on 020?
Might be worth a read of this - forum.xda-developers.com

I've been getting a notification about a security update on my magic. It claims to have already downloaded it (4.6mb), and is asking to install and reboot.
Does anyone know any details about the update? Version numbers, etc? What it changes?
Forgot to mention my current versions:
baseband - 62.50s.20.17u_2.22.19.26I
Kernel - 2.6.27-00392-g8312baf [email protected] #72
Build - crb17
I never received such notification. When I go to System Update, it says that my phone is already up to date. It got exactly the same version as yours.
Me neither - all versions the same. :-o
all Magics with CRB17 software will soon receive an over the air
(OTA) software update approximately 4.5 MB in size
This is a security patch, and nothing to worry about it, everyone with the affected software should get it in the next week.
I'm more worried about it blocking any future hacked firmwares being installed - eg the new rooted firmware 6.0
Upgrade in Vodafone ES network
I have just updated the firmware of my magic. It had CRB17. After the upgrade the new software versions are:
CRB43
62.50S.20.17U_2.22.19.26I
2.6.27-00393-g6607056
bye
i have received today the same notification in my htc (vodafone spain). But, what about the root??
@IsAhT sorry but I did not have it rooted before the update, so I cannot tell you the effects of this upgrade over a rooted terminal.
got the same thing right now...i just updated it..
i guess .......... if it is just a update to the firmware system should not effect the rooting.
How does the update process work? I'm on a rooted Vodafone UK Magic, but using the Orange mobile network. I've installed Haykuro's SPL, and About phone -> System updates says it's up to date, but the build is CRB17.
Maybe I should give his 6.0r1 ROM a try...
well i am on voda uk and i am not getting any updating because im using the 6.0 sapphire rom were the system update is disable obviously.
that you are on orange and still running CRB17 should be able to get the update. i think they roll the update gradually like TMOBILE done with the G1 to upgrade to cupcake 1.5,they started with 10% then 20% and so on of the G1 population till they hit 100%.
so after the rooting process installing haykuro's SPL, whats the 'best' rom to choose and where can i get it?.
im on CRB17 as well after trying to get root, which i dont think worked. Is there pre-rooted rom floating about?
im on vodafone UK magic as well
Hey there, I'm running R2BA026 - which I had updated to by debranding my x10a from Rogers Wireless (Canada). Upon updating, it had changed from x10a to x10i and there was warning in the instructions that doing so would result in PC Companion/SEUS not being able to update. I was fine with this as I could always revert when a major update was released. That brings me to a message I had received tonight while playing with files while connected to the USB. SEUS notified me that there was an update available for my phones software...but I can't update because... x10i, not x10a (although I have tried, it says it is unable to update). Now to my knowledge, I do have the latest firmware. So I'm wondering if anyone else on the Rogers network, or any where else for that matter, has gotten this notification? It could be some thing interesting but I don't want to revert to branded firmware just for some none sense update. :s
I'm on the Telus network..
Therefore.. I have to depend on Rogers to get the firmware though.. haha..
So I wouldn't get any notifications, but it'd be interesting to see if anyone got some.
I would definitely debrand myself and go back to Rogers to get it..or not cause I'll lose my root ):
I ran the updater this morning and nothing for me on Rogers
Hello,
I am just a bit curious. Most of the discussion around here did not mention about Three (3) network at all.
I am really tired on waiting for my Galaxy s update from Three...
If any news or information on Three (3) Froyo update, maybe we can discuss here or update here....
All of your help or news is really appreciated....
My phone details:-
GT-I1900HKAH3G
still in JG3 version
Changed Product Code
I originally had:
GT-I9000HKDH3G - (Three UK)
JF3
Updated it to:
GT-I9000HKDXEU - (Unbranded Europe/UK?)
JPO
Using the kies method ... I think to do it now you need to downgrade kies and then trick it into thinking it's already updated by editing the version string in the registry
I think he is looking for the official release through Kies. I would think by the end of November my friend. All networks have pretty much indicated this as has Samsung to a degree.
OPTUS I think from memory is supposed to be today.
How come you have JF3?
I am also from Three (3) UK, but I have JG1 and JG3...
I am trying to find out the information on the official update from KIES. I don`t want to root or trick the KIES to get an update yet...
I also heard the official FROYO update for Three (3) UK will be end of November, same as O2. But, O2 will give the update of Froyo earlier than expected. That is why tring to get some information.
Hope to hear from somebody about it...

There was a thread posted last week about froyo for Three handsets, but I believe that was referring to the general froyo release

couple folk in the thread you mentioned claim three has released froyo update but if you look on there site its definatly not available just yet. http://www.three.co.uk/Help_Support...SoftwareUpdate_show&content_aid=1220461902599
According to the the official Three Galaxy S blog http://blog.three.co.uk/2010/07/28/video-samsung-galaxy-s-on-three/ the update has been approved by them and they are waiting for Samsung to roll it out - they are unable to say when that will be.
Just keep checking I suppose.

Can you post the info from your Kies registry?
Hello,
Anyone had the chance to upgrade the SGS to the new release 2.2.1? I have just read a post http://www.youmobile.org/blogs/entry/Samsung-Galaxy-S2-teaser-on-February-Froyo-2-2-1-Update-for-SGS-in-the-Upcoming-weeks- and it seems that for Sweden and also NL the 2.2.1 was already released.
Sunday I connected my phone to KIES and I was notified that a new firmware version was available and I upgraded, but once I did, under Settings -> About phone it shows the same ''2.2'' - so I don't have a clue to what I upgraded my phone
If you are wondering what my phone says - here it is -
PDA:i9000XFJP9
PHONE:I9000XXJPP
CSC:I9000OXFJP8
I've had the 2.2.1 for ages but mines unbranded and unlocked so don't know if that makes any difference
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk
Seby, for now the update for Romania, didn't show up. Right now you have the latest firmware for XF region.
I've asked Orange Romania, and they called HAT ( Samsung dealer for Romania ) and HAT responded that they don't know about any Froyo 2.2.1. So for now...we wait. The only releases where for XX and XW. Go to samfirmware(dot)com and wait until a next I9000XF firmware is posted. That will be your next one.
has anyone heard anything new about getting these new SE updates onto out phones that cannot update OTA or with PC Companion?
The update is available for me but i cant get it because im using FTS V05 with unlocked bootloader and rooted.
It just keeps saying my phone is up to date
how do you know if the update is available for you?
If it was available then it would say "update phone"
no it wouldnt because im not using official rom and can not get update OTA or using SE software. i have to flash it myself. When you go on their website and update section for our phone it says there is s new update (xLoud etc) and i rang SE and said i should be able to update using PC Companion (I obviously didnt tell them i have unlocked bootloader etc)
i noticed this on the x10 section: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201729
anyone know if this would work on our phone? scred to try it lol
what country are you in and which firmware are you using?
im from Northern Ireland and my phone is:
Model: R800i
Version: 2.3.3
Build: 3.0.1.A.0.145
