Just a question. I would love to have the zunes functionality on my phone, but I am not switching to outdated hardware( hd7) .now that we have root, would this be out of the question?

Yes its possible due to the hardware between the devices being similar. But i doubt you will find many people wanting to lead that project when Android is so much more awesome!
Also im pretty sure the hardware in the hd7 is identical to the desire hd which is actually a little higher spec'ed than our phone ^_^
I just saw that honeycomb was ported to the Nexus One, and even the G1 and myTouch 3g. I was wondering if anyone could make a honeycomb rom for the G2? since we do have better hardware than the Nexus One it should run better. I would try to do this, but i dont know how to.
What?

If I had to guess, I would say he wants a Honeycomb port to the G2, and the actual post...???
I pressed enter by accident and the thread was made without me finishing it.
I support this
cant believe G1 has it already it
yea i just saw the article on enagadget, they got it running on the G1 and Mt3g, its slow but they got something.
Well the guy working on honeycomb for g1 and mytouch3g is a friend of mine. He's making the gingerbread for those phones as well haha. He doesn't have a g2 though

That honestly shows just how flexible android really truely is. I couldn't help but laugh when I saw I could run Honeycomb on my old Dream. But yeah I actually was hoping someone could port honeycomb as well. Sure it won't match tablet experience but still fun to use.

My only concern is the size of all of the icons, but I would like Honeycomb on the G2.
There's a port of it for mytouch4g and it doesn't look bad at all

I remeber reading something about the honeycomb sdk having a portrait launcher than does normal phone res, not Tablet res. So i think it will be usable. If you look at the screenshots from the G1, and the N1 honeycomb roms, they seem to be usable

htc desire hd has got the sensation rom port:
http://phandroid.com/2011/04/15/desire-hd-gets-sensation-rom-port/
now i guess it becomes more easy to port to n1.
it consists of lots of new widgets ,icons and animations specially.....
and its gingerbread......
lets see how much time it takes for the porting of sensation rom to nexus one.
guys inform the great developers out there to have a look...
:-D
great...
I hope someone can port it to our n1
Here's an easier download, the chinese one isn't the easiest to navigate.
Sorrry, but do you think this will be ported? No dev has been found to port desire s Rom entirely. This is a dead child in think...

I hope this one catches fire. I have been dying waiting for a solid Gingerbread + Sense build.

I'll try to get it booting tomorrow, just for the sake of seeing that beautiful lookscreen of Sense 3.0 in action.
I'll post my results.
i love my nexus as much as anyone, but folks, it's time to get a new phone if you want dev results. nobody cares about it now, and with the sensation, g2x ,etc coming out, it's going to be further in the dust. i may keep it just as a token of the first great android phone, or i may sell it, but the sensation is my next phone.
this rom dump is f'n HUGE lol look at that file size, i don't think it could ever make it onto the n1, and if it did it'd probably be slow as dirt.
nice to hear that,great job

Actually the "system" folder is only 585mb, which is not really that much different to desire hd rom

fingers crossed i really really want this on my nexus!!
If a dev can at least point me in the direction of educating myself to port this, i'll put the time in.
I have dsixda's kitchen running. Can it be as easy as cooking?

Ok so I'm on AT&T. Name one upgrade without a locked bootloader to replace the Nexus One?!
Captivate- not an upgrade
Atrix- locked
Inspire 4G- locked.
Please help me out here?

so j was checking out other forums and something caught my eye in the G1 forums. They are trying to find a way to use their phone to crack a wep encryption. I want to know is this possible on our device? Ill edit with a link to the G1 thread.

it probably wont happen on the g1 and in the case it actually does it is still unlikely it will be worked on an ported to the shift.
now IF it does get done and someone ports it to the evo (which is way more likely) then maybe i or someone else would port it to the shift but you do realize the thread was started in 2009 right?
Yup, I don't hold much hope but atleas its still somewhat alive. Lol

Alright so I wanna try and start porting roms and I have a guide and it doesn't seem extremely hard and I think I can do it but I have some questions when porting a rom I figure I have to port it from a phone like the desire hd or can I port it from any phone jw bc I'm looking in the desire hd form and most of the aosp roms are already ported

Yeahhh that's part of the reason I tried learning how to compile so quickly. With as much porting that goes on for this device, its difficult to start off. Hence why I don't port at all anymore. I like to give others a chance at learning what I already know (somewhat). That's the reason you didn't see a jb port from me as soon as it hit the dhd I'll try to drop you a pm soon if I find any thing that would seem port/release-worthy.
