no these ****ty pittsburgh doctors are the reason im like this should go home to boston where the real doctors are
A simple bootanimation i made, it's just the Aperture logo that lights up and some "loading dots"
Installation:
Just put the zip file in /system/media/ with "adb push" or "root explorer" or any other file management way
should work on any MDPI device
... hope you like
[update]
as requested, here is a new version of the bootanimation
thanks to vviper for his "Portal Droid" bootanimation
rename to bootanimation.zip and put in /system/media/
Awesome! I love Portal!

be two thanx for the bootanimation
It would be cool if the loading animation was a Portal in the center alternating between orange and blue. Or maybe a little guy falling forever in a loop.

FYI, according to HTC - BEATS only work when you have speakers or headphones connected.
Most of the time this mod bombs so be careful.
i hooked up headphones and noticed a slight diffrence but nothing to write home about

I tried, but liked vodoo better, as this mod permanently increased some bass effect, with vodoo you can control it. But to most people it won't matter, as it works good enough without tinkering anything.
I use them together and I can notice a more clarity and bass. Of course I have a pair of $200 DJ headphones so maybe that helps
Also this isn't a port and doesn't belong in development. Thanks for posting it though, we follow the rules strictly over in the Captivate forums too.

It seems that the original link is gone, but I found this in the Epic 4G threads and wanted to give it a try. It's suppose to work for any Gingerbread rom, but I'm running ICS. I listened to a music track before flashing and then flashed the zip and it seems to sound clearer. It might be just a placebo.
If anyone wants to try this and see if it works, please see the attached flashable zip.
I don't take credit for this; but feel free to thank me if you like this.
Oh ya, make a nandroid before you flash this - just in case it messes something up.

Welcome...glad i could help
just trying to make a flashable zip so i need some testers soo if you feel like dropping some notification tones from the new gs3 try it out. it SHOULDNT break anything since its just tones and some small script files but anywho if you'd like to have more i'll sure put something together
Link(just notifications): http://www.mediafire.com/?x2wky05b7ukk4qh
Link(Notifications and UI lock sounds attempt at volume but didnt work for me):http://www.mediafire.com/?c3io4nu44q8vzxp
not you can flash ui one if you have already flashed notifications should just overwrite which is just no biggie
Should work, but what you can always do is rip out the guts of a flashable zip, then replace the contents.
Gonna give it a spin. B.B.S.
that stoner at Circle K
so im gonna assume this worked fine. ... since no is saying "**** you man for breaking my phone" or "what ringtones" lol

Hey all,
I'm new to Android but I'm a programmer so I usually learn pretty quick. This is my first post on XDA so be gentle!
I am not sure if everyone knows this or not, but I only figured it out today so I said I'd share:
If you are looking for an app or an apk, eg stock APK, you can sometimes install from an old ROM if you kept the zip file lying around.
For example in my case I had just flashed a new ROM which didn't come with S Voice so I unzipped one of my old ROMs and did an apk search of the extracted files on my PC. In this case SVoice was called talkback.apk .
Next I just connected my phone to the PC using hotspot on LAN in Root Explorer, found the apk, and just clicked on it to install.
This worked for all the apk's I tried (4-5) except S Memo.
Not sure if this will help anyone, but its a handy way to customize a ROM that you like, if it doesen't come with all the apps you want. This may work with galleries/cameras/music players etc, but I haven't tried it yet..
Seriously....
Don't you think this is common sense?
