[Q] How to NAND UNLOCK my rooted Xperia X8? - XPERIA X8 General

Hi,
My X8 is becoming damn slow day after day, so I wanted to uninstall some preinstalled useless apps to free some memory. I understand from this forum that I need to root X8 first to be able to uninstall preinstalled apps. Hence, I have successfully rooted my X8 using SuperOneClick. After rooting my device I tried to install titanium backup to uninstall those useless apps, but titanium backup needed an app called Busy Box. So I tried installing Busy Box, but busy box installation is not working... It says my phone is not NAND UNLOCKED...
What is NAND UNLOCK?
I searched so many threads and forums to know how to NAND UNLOCK my X8 but no useful information found. Thats the reason why I started this new thread, coz while searching I found a lot of similar questions without a good answer, so I believe this thread can be really helpful to so many...
My phone is android 2.1
Any help in this regard is highly appreciable. Thanks In advance
Deepu

Hi,
The NAND unlock is the carrier unlock?

Hi
Just reconnect ur x8 to ur PC and use the option optimize or something cuz root is not just enough
Sent from my X8 using XDA App

What stupid answers.
X8 does not have any internel memory protection so NAND is unlocked just you need to mount system to read-write so you can delete apps, all this can be done with root explorer.

Since when is X8 NAND locked? If so Superoneclick can't even root it...

yeah, please delete this thread! xD

Do not optimize!!!
please do not optimize using flashtool as your phone will work untill rebooted then will stay in bootloop, tried myself while playing around with software and had to restore system to my phone. mount root explorer to r/w then delete what u want that way.

Advantages of rooting

Hi
I'm considering rooting my phone
is it worth it?
What are the advantages?
How easy is it
Anything else I should know?
Thanks
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App,
well, when you root your phone, you get superuser privileges and with that you can do wonders to your phone..
lots of great app need su privileges..
just download z4root app, or similar, run it and app will root your phone..
You can uninstall not used systems apps, like the LG-Facebook or stuff like that. But be careful, you can brick you phone with uninstalling important stuff, like when you delete files in windows directory.
cagliostro koliko mu treba da se root-uje?cekam vec 20 minuta i nista, hvala
rooting unlocks alot more things todo with your phone
for example i just installed linux on my gt540
ima write up a tutorial when i get 10 posts
U can also wifi tethering by downloading apps of the market
Sent from my GT540 using XDA App
Advantages:
You can change everything in the system (for examle statusbar/icons/fonts)
You can backup your apps with its settings
You can install Dual Mount SD so phone is fully usable while connected as mass storage
You can add swap to recover extra ram capacity
Many more great and useful apps that require root.
You can install apps as system apps without using adb (im not sure if adb doesn't require root for that too)
Disadvantages:
You losing warranty but it can be reclaimed by one-click unrooting
You can brick your phone and need to reflash with KDZ when you delete/move/modify some important files.
Personally i will be unable to use this phone without root (at least).

[Q] root htc hd2 android HELP PLEASE

hi everybodye sorry for the question but im new on this, well i have a htc hd2 from tmobile, i install android nand, following directions of a forum from here, everything is working good, i install setcpu from market and it do not let me configure it,so i install root check and it said is NOT rooted, my question is how can i root my phone,, please help.. thanx a lot and sorry if my question is stupid for some of you guys
As long as you have hspl you should be rooted. I would check to make sure you have setcpu superuser permission

thanx so much for you answer and not make fun of me, well yes i installed hspl3, and when it done it said we hack it, but root checker still say, sorry you dont have root access can you please tell me how to check superuser permission, thanx so much,,
Look in your app tray and see if you have a Superuser icon. If you do then ckick in it and then find where it says allow superuser access. Most Andriod ROMs for tbe HD2 are already rooted when you install them. If you do not have a Superuser icon then Google "z4root" it is a one click root app that works. You will have to dowmload it unzip/extract the apk and copy it to your SD card and then use a file manager to navigate to the apk file and open it this will install the app to your phone. This is also what is known as "sideloading" in Andriod. Open the app and click on Root now button and it will root your phone.
Using a cpu overclock app has a downside as well as the upside of a faster response when in use.
The downside is that when downclocked and idle, the phone can take a couple of seconds to clock up to the operating speeds required - on some roms its more noticable than others. but a good solid ROM does not need this boost and there a few on here
please help
im having exactly the same problem doing my head in ,i installed a nand gingerbread rom that is faultless it cracked it and gave me a super user icon however the superuser never opens and when i install certain programmes they need root access and its saying my phone is not rooted ive checked with a rooting app and it says no root ive tried several methods that has not worked ie superoneclick gingerbreak nothing seems to work
any help would be appreciated
im not a novice ive flashed many devices etc cant seem to figure out why i havent got root though
^ try a different ROM
almost all are rooted already

[Q] Is it possible to ROOT my x8 whithout using a pc!

Hey i want root my xperia x8 but i cant access any computer! Is there any way that really is working for the E15i?
Plzz reply i need help!!!
I think it's possible... You would need phone with windows mobile and installed Linux or Widows 95 emulator... But I'm not sure
Sent from my X8 using Tapatalk
It is posible but if your phone brike , you will not be able to fix it without xrecovery or a pc.
Anyway, there are many apps that claim they can root your phone many works good.
You could probably do it all manually via Terminal Emulator (from the market), but it's description claims it cannot help you root your phone, so perhaps not.
Worth a try though, download the 'rageagainstthecage' script and see if you gain root.

Gingerbreak works fine for me too, but it took 6 mins for booting with root thr first time . And now i would like to know how i could uninstall e.g. AccuWeather.com app. Apps like adao file manager say "dont have root permissons" but i do want to grant root access to adao but dont know how . Dont want to pay money for root explorer... Shell works with su well (superuser asks for permission and then i can read systemfolders and so on...).
Or should i start a new thread for this question ?

[Q] Bloatware Arc

Hi all,
i hope having searched the forum correctly, I have a question regarding a Xperia Arc and its bloatware....
I rooted the phone, passed via Titanium and others to uninstall the bloatware, but after a re-start all's back.
The only function is to freeze, but this doesn't help me much since I need free space on the phone....
can anyone help?
I saw something with a flashtool, but this means (if well read) that it needs a ROM to be flashed as well (for the moment I'd like to keep the phone with stock)?
thanks for the feedback and sorry if I missed something on the Xperia forum (hey, got a DHD myself as primary phone....)
Flying_dutchman
Personally, I'd use ES File Explorer and select Root Explorer and then Mount File System. Do your renaming or deleting then untick Mount File System. Works a treat.
Check my sig for a tutorial that works
