[Q] activsync - HD2 General

Hi
After i install all tips and tricks the pc not recognize my htc hd2 pone and cant connect to the activsync .

Active sync
go to settings, click on connections, click on usb to pc, uncheck Enable faster data synchronization.
That should work.

Is this normal ActiveSync behavior?
I am having a different ActiveSync problem.I have to go to my task manager and close ActiveSync like all the time. I can close it and close the task manager then go back to task manager and it be there again right away sometimes. Aside from it being anoying I also think it is cause my battery to drain some what faster and my HD2 to need me to run cleanRam alot more often if you know what I mean. This only sarrted after I flashed the official T-Mobile updated ROM, it was not happening with the first stock ROM. I have seens did a warranty echange and my replacement HD2 has the same ActiveSync issue. Is this normal behavour for ActiveSynce? Or is this non normal behavior?

activesync problem..newbie

hey xda..i recent down a rom for my tmo wing open-touch 3.0 for wing only i believe its called now i cant upload anymore roms because it saying it cant read the connection is the 6.1 affecting the connection?ill get error 222 i believe when i upload rom help plz thanx
Im sorry, but your post doesn't really make any sense and was kind of unintelligible.
It sounds to me like youre trying to flash a rom onto your phone but its giving you a connection error? IF that's the case, uninstall activesync, and redownload it from MICROSOFT
If that's not what you mean, Could you please try to explain it a little better?
I Think this might workout,
Start -> Settings -> Connections-> USB to PC
There uncheck the Box and it might do it.

I've had a similar issue. Once doing the Hard SPL and the screen goes white, disconnecting active sync. I can never get active sync to reconnect to finish with the flashing process. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling active sync 4.5. Unplugging and plugging usb cable back in, etc. Nothing seems to work for me on getting active sync to connect after my phone reaches the white out screen part. It shows the Wing in the Mobile Device section.I've tried going to connection settings in active sync and clicking connect...just goes through all the com ports, but nothing happens. I'm left with the only option of disconnecting and doing a soft reset. Once that happens, of course the phone connects instantly to active sync.
Keep in mind, activesync will only show connected as long as windows is running on the phone and establishing the connection between your Windows PC and Windows Mobile Device.
Throughout the flashing process, activesync may not show connected, but as long as the phone is showing up in your device manager then you should be ok... and the flashing process should work.

HD2, windows 7 64 bit & WMDC 6.1

Hi,
I am in the UK, i just bought my HTC leo (known as HD2 here), reading through the instructions i was guided to install WMDC which i did, i had not plugged in the phone at this point and one error was thrown up saying device not connected which was easily explainable, so now i connect the phone expecting WMDC to jump up, it doesnt and never has, now i am no novice to these things and i have been in this forum a few years ago with another phone so i am well versed on searching for answers to my problem before making posts, so far all i can find on the problem is people reporting not being able to sync using office, this is not my problem as i cant even get the phone to sync with WMDC, i have tried other suggestions such as ...
registry key in question:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Svchost\WindowsMobile
- Right click -> Permissions -> Advanced
- Took owner ship of the registry key
- Gave the Users group Full Control.
Then in device manager:
- Uninstalled my Microsoft Mobile Remote Adapter
- Scan hardware changes
and then it installed properly and am able to sync again
but to no avail, i have uninstalled and reinstalled with the phone connected and unconnected, my pc seems to find the device but i dont think it is reporting it right, in device & printers the phone is seen as 'generic serial', when i do a properties on this it is said to be a 'pocketPC usb sync', when i connect and disconnect it does appear in the device manager under mobile devices, also if i just leave the phone, when the screen goes blank the device disappears from the device manager, i have tried uninstalling it from device manager and also updating drivers but it keeps saying the best driver for the device are installed, i have included some pictures and i am tearing my hair out over this, i bought this phone to replace my iphone but i am not to pleased yet.
Thanks.
Have you opened wmdc and setup a partnership?
Have you tried going into Settings->Connections->USB To PC and uncheck "enable faster synchronization"?
What ROM are you on, btw, Cooked or Stock? and what version?

Yes i have opened it but there is no way to set up a partnership as the phone is saying unconnected even though the pc seems to register its presence.

yes i did the disabling of fast sync, this is on stock rom out of the box its spl-1.42.0000, my plan was to install a cooked rom but i cant even get the phone to sync so i cant even do that to see if it will remedy the situation.
You can always install a cooked ROM as long as you can get to the bootloader...
Go to the bootloader...
Flash HSPL...
Use Task29 (Hex modified RUU.exe)
Flash your Cooked ROM of choice
I'm out of possible fixes for your sync problem though... I usually just uncheck "enable faster sync" and all is fine...
try this, if you haven't... as a last resort..
Uninstall WMDC
Reboot
Install WMDC
Reboot
Connect HD2 before your PC boots (with "enable faster sync" unchecked)
worth a try
no luck...this is highly frustrating
any firewalls up and running? I'm on Win 7 x64 and WMDC 6.1 is playing fine with Outpost Firewall
Good Luck and I hope you get everything sorted out...
IS your device configured to use the active sync as it might be in internet sharing, usb mode if this is set you wont be able to sync or connect right

Yes it is set to use active sync and faster sync is unchecked.
Have you tried hard resetting the device and then trying to reconnect it?
Ok, done the hard reset...still saying not connected on WMDC and phone is registering in device manager
Is the phone showing up correctly in device manager, should it be 'pocketPC USB sync' ?

Try to disable your antivirus. I use Kaspersky and I have same problem if I don't disable antivirus.
Disabled antivirus and firewall...strange thing is..if i uninstall it from device manager, when i reinstall it with fast sync enabled on phone it installs as mobile remote adaptor or something like that, if i reinstall with fast sync disabled it installs as pocketpc usb sync
What I did with my HD2 and W7 64-bit was just turn it on and plug it in! Windows downloaded, installed and configured WMDC automatically so I didn't have to do a thing!

Thanks for that...nothing like having salt rubbed in to the wounds lol... thats exactly what i did but not so lucky...anyhow...i just uninstalled the thing again for numpteenth time and scanned for hardware changes and went out the room...when i come back in it was alive...dont know what i did that was different though, i will renable my AV and firewall and see if it was that.
Thanks to everyone for your help
Didn't mean to sound so smart-arse-ish - I just always plug things into W7 and only if they can't get something working do I go driver hunting!
No i know you wasnt, i wasnt offended at all...its so nice to be able to just plug things in though, with windows 7 its been a breeze and this is the first time i have had trouble, hopefully thats the end of that problem and i can get going with some cooked roms....anything you can recommend ? seem to be so many, whats the most popular ?
Personally, take a look at the one in my sig - new version of it is out later this evening and its a great ROM. Gets rid of all the crapware no one ever uses...
Other than that, take a look at Duttys or Miri's ROMs - but the newest version are only on HTCPedia
Well...that lasted all of 3 minutes !....now its not connecting again...no logic what so ever
Right...seems it may have been the USB port, i was initially trying 2 ports, one was a front panel usb port which is connected via a pin header on the mobo, the second one was an extension lead to the back mobo mounted usb port which is usb3...so as a last straw i thought i would try the usb hub i have connected to the other onboard usb port which is usb 2..the hub is powered so i am left wondering if that was the issue.

active sync

has any1 noticed active sync proces/task runnin on their x2
even if they dont connect the phone to the computer for few days
i find it every few hours it reappears in the task manager and i shut it down
but it keeps popping up
anyway to disable this because i think this is the main reason for my battery to drain (lookin for sync connection)
clean wm 6.5.3 with only necessary cabs from the rom

This is what I also experienced on X1.
It appears when you often connect the device to PC.
the thing is it was last connected to a pc when i copied rom cabs to sd card then
i disconnected the phone did clear phone and installed clean winmo with only selected cabs since then it was not connected to any pc and it was charged only
with AC adapter

ActiveSync keeps restarting!

TMOUSA HD2, latest stock ROM.
Phone not connected to computer, neither BT nor USB.
Yet, whenever I start Task Manager, I see that ActiveSync is running.
I close it with Task Manager.
A little while later, I run Task Manager again, and see that ActiveSync is running again.
etc., etc., etc., etc.
Why does ActiveSync keep restarting, when there is no connection to the computer, therefore nothing to sync with?
Waste of phone memory and battery, for AS to keep running unnecesssarily.
Any way to fix that?

set your synch schedule to manual for all: email, pc, microsoft my phone... that should do the trick.
