[Q] device memory extension? - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hi guys, this was my first flashing/phone fiddling mission and it all went very well (yay!). i used this particular build: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913597 (v3.4)
and installed using nand, but is there anyway i can extend the device memory as i cant seem to move many apps onto the memory card and the device memory is filling up quite quickly. is there a way of partitioning the SD card to do this and will it require me to re flash the rom?
thanks in advance for your help!

Install apps on memory card

Hello everyone!
I'm thinking of upgrading to the Legend from the Jade and i read somewhere that apps cannot be installed on the memory card. Is this true? I sure hope not! The built in memory of the legend surely is not enough for the apps that i would like to install in it. Appreciate and thanks for the feedback in advance!
Android 2.1 does not allow apps to be stored on sd card, the forth coming android 2.2 software upgrade does allow this.

[Q] Installing apps to sd card

HI first id like to say thanks to all the people who develloped this software for my blackstone its given my old phone a wonderfull lease of life.
I am new to this whole scene so if my question seems a little stupid please let me know.
I have the 2.2 Froyo version installed (I think) and all is working wonderfully apart from the camera but i never use that anyway oh and the ability to change wall paper just reverts the wallpaper back to the origional. but again thats not a problem.
But i have a question. Is it possible to install my apps to my sd card ? i want to try a few apps ive downloaded but im running out of space on my internal memory i would like to install apps to run of my sd like in winmo is this possible?
Any help would be much appreciated
And again thanks for this wonderfull software
Richi
I haven't tried this so don't know if it works on our blackstones, but apparently with 2.2 you can now move installed apps to your SD Card if the app has been written to support that feature. Read more - http://www.androidtapp.com/android-...-sd-card-feature-in-android-2-2-requires-you/
any updates on this? i tried to use the provided solutions but i lost the access to mai blackstone sdcard....
there is this free app on the market. search app 2 SD.
this will show what apps that can be moved to SD card.
Hi sorry for the late reply ive been busy.
I tried App 2 SD and it told me which apps i can move to my sd card, this is good but when you actually try to move the apps it tells me operation failed.
Its not a big problem i just thought it may help in memory use to have apps installed on the memory card like windows mobile.
The data.img is only 256mb and all your app's are stored in that file..If you want to expand the data.img to have more app you either have to do it yourself or modify the rootfs
a link for you

after you install an app go to application management, select the installed application and there will be a button called move to sd

[Q] App can not be run after moving to SD Card

Dear XDA members: I am sorry if my question is too naive for you. I am a total dummy for Android system and only have my HD2 flashed with MDJ's CJanogenMod 7 (v 1.7) gingerbread ROM. I knew I can move some of the applications from the phone internal memory to the external SD card. However when I do move some of the applications (which support SD card installation) into SD card, I cannot have those applications (i.e., Adobe Reader) launched, the error message always displays something like The application (Adobe Reader) process com.adobe.reader has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
I wonder if I have done anything wrong and how I can fix this problem?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

1. Some apps don't work on SD card. For example, all widgets have to be on internal storage, otherwise they won't appear. So no, you haven't done anything wrong in that respect. However, having said that I just moved Adobe reader to SD storage and it runs perfectly fine
2. Also, you may want to try a newer ROM. MDJ no longer develops for the HD2 (although from what I've heard he was brilliant) so you may want to try Typhoon, Hyperdroid or Dorimanx's CM7 ROMs.
Dear Nigeldg, thanks a lot for your quick reply. I wonder if you could kindly recommend a rom (I have 411MB internal memory and would like to have Chinese language support) to me. Once again, thanks and wish you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

[Q] Install android on internal storage without sd card?

Hi guys,
I have an old HTC HD2 and today i have been trying to find a version of android that installs on the internal memory (NOT on the sdcard, which I don't have). I think it has to be a DAF file? On several sites and tutorials I have seen people having some version of android installed on the phone, but i have been looking on here for a few hours now but I'm not able to find any... Does it still exist? I already task29 my phone so i think it's completely formatted and has no OS on it now, so If anyone knows a link to a android version that can be installed on the phone memory without sd card, it would help me a lot!
Thanks in advance!
I think those builds are still available, but you need to search in the very od threads. ANd you need to make sure it is Sense 1.0 because newer versions are larger so either you would not have enough space for user data or the ROM would not fit internal storage anyway.

Unable to use my SD card as interanl memory

Hi All,
I have the following phone
sm-j500f
6.0.1
MMB29MJ500FXXU1BPH1
I keep reading that with Marshmallow I can use my sd card as internal memory as I only have 8 gb and I cant
really run many apps.
But when I do put in my SD card I only get one option not two like I have seen on various internet posts.
Can any one help please and also advise the best tutorial for rooting my phone.
Thank you in advance
