Ok, all of a sudden I can't connect to gprs, worked fine this morning then stopped. Not my network as my sim works in other phones. Not my apn settings because they were working before and I tried renewing them just in case anyways. Tried hard reset and no luck. Tried recovery to a backup I made last week no luck. Extremely frustrated! Running vision Desire Z stock rom, rooted then ota updated then rooted again, but worked perfect for 2 weeks...
...any idea how to diagnose?
Finding now sometimes it's sticking at 'turning on', only gives me the 'connection failed' 3 times then just says to check here to use mobile data. If I create a new apn it tries to connect again but no luck. The phone is seeing GPRS in settings-info but just can't connect. Any log files I could look at?
Downloading the full 1.72 rom now to see if that works (rather than going back to 1.34 then the OTA upgrade) but so strange that it worked fine for a couple weeks!
*** After flashing 1.34 data didn't work for about 6 hours, then started to work. I then flashed 1.72 in full (not ota) and it continued to work. I took a backup then restored to when it was working last before the issue and it would not work so restored back to the fresh 1.72 and it is still working. Anyways, seems its jsut me...

edit: Ok now totally confused, installed 1.72 complete and still no data. Going back to 1.34 now to see what happens...
Ok, now I can't get the 1.72 to install, but that's a USB driver issue I assume...hope it works eventually!
Alright, officially even more confused. Is there a possible hardware error that can stop data from working? Back on 1.34 (still with S-off but not rooted yet) and data still doesn't work. Network swears nothing is wrong, but I just am pretty frustrated. Any kind of logging possible at all when data is trying to connect?

Today i updated to Miris newest Test rom but 20 minutes later i flashed back to EnergyRom "leo". I tried to configure my Direct Push with GMail but it doesn´t work anymore. It always says: "Your password is incorrect. Please update your password to continue synchronizing." Error Code:0x85010002.
I did 2 Hard Resets, flashed to my stock rom and tried it. Can´t get it to work.
Now after 4 Flashs im back on EnergyRom and i am at the and of my knowledge. Or the Google Service is Down or something is going wrong with my HD. Anybody an explenation?
Edit: i even changed my password 2 times and doesn´t work. But can easily go into my Gmail account.
Edit2: Found out in the Google Help Forum that iam not the only one with this password issue on WM6. So maybe it isn´t because of the Rom update... It is just crazy because it worked all the last days without any problem and today with the Rom Change it stopped working. Frustrating...
Same with Exchange
Any resolution to this? I have the same problem since flashing to Miri.
With the stock ROM it has been working with Exchange OWA for more than a year, but after flashing it impossible to get to work again.
I have tried Miri, Energy, Balaij and all sorts of ROMs but the result is the same: 0x85010002
With my PC it working like normal, and OWA is working as normal. But on my Blackstone it just went dead. I have even flashed back to the stock ROM from HTC but it is still not working? I am at the end of ideas...

Net Connectivity Problems?
I'm also having issues this morning with getting on Market, as well as web pages thru browser... and come to think of it, I haven't gotten any Gmail notifications either.
I'm on T-Mo w/ Nexus One running CM 5 beta 3 (2.6.29 non-memhack'd), but I don't think the custom ROM is the issue.
Can anybody else verify connectivity issues on T-Mobile this morning?
i've had this issue... but mine stuck. i was hopping between dwang and cm. they were both nandroid backups and i was testing themes on them to see what worked and what didn't. anyways i got done and restored my cm build and market just wouldn't connect. however if i opened it and hit menu > downloads quickly it showed them briefly before saying there was an error connecting which i take as it meaning there was a connection, but there was something interfering with it. only way i was able to fix it was wipe and reflash cyanogen. :/
hey i had droid wall installed, un-stalled it then it was working again i think it was either a problem with t-mobile or droidwall was stopping it
Hi everyone.
Since the time I tried Cyan 5.0.8 for a while my phone started to give me "Wifi could not be activated"-errors. ADB told me that "init-driver" failed, so after a while and a lot more trouble I went back to Super-D. It worked well for a whole lot of time but now I also get these errors on Super-D.
I reflashed radio: nothing got better.
I wiped data, reflashed rom (all that defanged-stuff + the rom): nothing got better.
I tried to take out the battery and everything: nothing got better.
I still cannot enable WiFi. I fear it's a hardware problem, maybe caused by the UV/OC? I had it running for a whole lot of time stable at 650Mhz. It's really weired, I hate my Dream now =(.
Anyone has an idea how to get it up running again?
Update: I just tried to start tethering via WiFi. It works!? WTF? What is my Dream doing!? So after stoping tethering and everything's fine again Ô.Ô. Could anyone try to explain what happened? Me Have No Clue =(
So after a search here and through Google I haven't been able to get this fixed. I was running CyanogenMod 5.0.8 without problems, but wanted to try out Chromatic 4.5. After flashing Chromatic, WiFi worked for a few hours, but then it just suddenly stopped working. From the "Power Widget" WiFi just shows the grey bar below it like it's turning on/off, but it's not doing anything. When I click it, it does nothing. If I go to Wireless and Networks from the Menu, WiFi shows "Error" up under it. The only possible solution I've found was for the Droid that said to try flashing the ROM using a GoldCard, but that was with the Droid 2.2 update. I gave it a shot anyways with no success. I tried flashing with and without the GoldCard, and in both scenarios I tried flashing with and without a wipe. I restored my CM backup and WiFi is working again, so it's not a hardware problem (which I didn't think it was in the first place). Any help would be greatly appreciated guys and gals.
Bump, just to get back to the top I'd really like to get this straightened out.

Read and search the posts in development. It is simple to fix that error. Your situation is an incompatible rom. Try using CM6.

Incompatible ROM???? It's a ROM using the CM 6 kernel and WiFi worked initially, so that's out the window. Thanks for the input though.
I have had the same problem since 0825 nightlies (nightly prior to CM6 official). Wifi works on the 0825 nightly but EVERYTHING since I get the wifi error. Logcat reports wifi driver failed to load. I have manually tried starting the driver, but still this damn error. I did flash the TMUS Froyo cm6 remix and that rom my wifi worked perfectly. I have flashed both pershoot and dumfuqs kernels--still the error. I manually pushed all things wlan to my mytouch and still nothing. So, there is no doubt that the error lies in the cm roms (or at least where it is mapping the drivers on our phone). Very frustrating. The fact that there are only a few of us having this problem leads me to believe that it is indeed a hardware issue or we have corrupted memory on our phones.
Anyway, I have given up trying to fix it. If you find a way, please post.
But, try flashing the tmus froyo remix AFTER nandroiding your rom and see if wifi continues to work.
I just reverted back to CM 5.0.8 for the time being. I'll probably try the T-Mobile 2.2 for the 32B since I'm sure someone will port it to the 1.2 once they get their hands on it.

I just recently got this tablet from someone else. (This person had no problems and is trustworthy in reporting all that was done and care taken with it, even offering on advice on things you can do with it.)
My first step was to connect to Wifi. This happened without problems.
When returning home from work where I also connected, my wireless connection(s) said "Disabled" after trying to obtain the IP where they worked fine before. The first time this happened I had to do a factory reset to solve it (hardware reset didn't do it).
Today, it is happening again. I woke it from "standby" to start using again at home and received this message. In fact, any attempted WiFi connections comes up saying "disabled" after attempting to connect and obtain an IP. Again, these are saved connections that previously worked. I know for a fact that it's not the routers.
Please help if you can. I've tried:
1) power off/up 2x in a row to no avail
2) removing and adding back the connection with the appropriate passwords
3) a factory reset but I really don't want to do that again because I'm afraid flashing it back will bring back the same problem.
3) I haven't put any new apps on it since it last worked earlier today so I can't figure that as an issue. The first time it happened a week ago was when I'd just gotten it. It has worked for almost a week without problem. I did nothing special but travel home.
SPECS:
A500 Wifi
Rooted (was unrooted when it first happened); rooted now using IconiaRoot v1.3
(previously rooted and unrooted with Gingerbreak which would no longer root)
ROM: Honeycomb 3.1 with Virtuous Picasso v.1.1.0
Kernel: 2.6.36.4-UNITY-V5-ge7dee2a-dirty
Thanks in advance.
it's a known problem with this tablet when moving from one access poin to another, introduced with the update to 3.1. you have to reset using the pin hole near the micro USB port. i use a staple.
it may take a few tries. if it never works, there's a specific file you can delete if you're rooted. if you cant do that, you will have to do a device wipe.
There is a known issue of connecting to PEAP/EAP networks, which most work networks are. After connecting successfully, often many times, it will suddenly fail to connect. It also shows the signal from the access point to be very low or non-existent. After this happens, it can also cause problems with other PEAP/EAP access points as well.
If this is what happened to you, here's the fix. Try to connect to the access point giving you problems. While it is stuck on trying to connected, click the access point name and tell the tablet to Forget it. Then enter the same access point information manually and try to reconnect. This fixed my problem, and the fix sticks for a few weeks or so until it comes back.
Interesting, I had this same problem a few weeks ago when I visited my parents house. After a couple reboots it just started magically working again and didn't think anything of it. Their router is whatever the Verizon FiOS people install when you get their service.
Thanks, GeekGuy and Falkner, but.....
I've tried both before, but I went ahead and tried both of your recommendations again (pin reset and connection attempt/forget/add). Neither fixed it.
I would like to try to delete the file that Falkner mentioned, but you didn't specify a name and/or location of it. Can you share that?
I could never find what file to delete, so I've just installed a new ROM (thanks to XDA for info on all the how to stuff).
We'll see if it repeats.
Gone from V.Picasso v.1.1.10 with HC 3.1 to Taboonay 2.1 with HC 3.2.
Thanks for the attempted help!
Just guessing but I would say your problem is solved since no reply from yesterday?
Per my last post, I've switched ROMS. As it happened randomly before, I can only wait to see if it happens again. I will post back if it does.
And....as of tonight it happened again.
Note: Different ROM working since the last post 9-26-11.
ROM Taboonay 2.1
The only thing I can wonder about is if it happens when it tries to connect to a network that is actually down such that it cannot obtain an IP that actually gets internet access. However, it was "disabled" when I brought it up before ever trying to specifically reconnect to a network to realize the ISP wasn't doing their part.
Still....no reboots, or hardware resets have worked. I'm working on an image restore of only the system from the 9.25 install of the ROM rather than a factory data reset. Not sure if that would have been better. Trying to save some of what I've done recently. Gonna have to get used to a weekly backup if this is to continue.
Grrrrr..........restoring a backup turned out to be the last ROM. After reinstalling Taboonay 2.1, I still had all my apps and found the same problem. I'm doing a factory data reset as it's the only thing that fixed it before :-(
The only "oddity" I've experienced has been since last Thursday. The Android Market doesn't even recognize now that I have another device. Have communicated with them; they are investigating and saying they have received reports of this on free downloads giving an "unable to process purchase" message. It updates installed apps, but I cannot download any new ones through market, appbrain -even the appbrain app only and not to the market app. I can download through Amazon, so it's the Market issue. Still, that shouldn't affect this issue.
If you have any constructive feedback, I'd appreciate it!
This was happening to me. I had problems with every rom I tried until the following combo: Taboonay 2.2 with Richard's Villain ROM 3.7 kernel. Every other combo would lead to erratic wifi...now it hasn't happened in 2 days. I don't know why this is happening as many of the roms I tried claim to have the wifi fix integrated. I hope this helps. Just flash the latest Taboonay and then the kernel zip file on too of it. By the way, latest rabbinate is 2.2....NOT THE ONE YOU HAVE NOW.
