No need bro, just follow the link in my signature & get your activation code..!!!

I just got an activation code this afternoon via online chat. All they asked for was my number and my phone model which I, of course, said HTC HD7. Took less than two minutes for me to be up and running.

Activation via online chat
I was able to get a key using the Product Sales/General Inquiries Chat. It took less than two minutes. They just ask for your name, phone number, and phone model.

i called the 1800 number, i spoke to a lady, and i told her i purchased a refurbished HTC HD7 from ebay and that i can't take it back, so that if she asked me for any information that could lead her to discover that im using a HD2, i'd pretend like i was scammed and that i couldn't tell the difference between the HD2 and the HD7, but anyway, she didn't ask me for any information at all, other than my name and e-mail address, i recieved a key with no problems at all.

if your asking via chat, just close the box, and reopen a new one to get a different person, if your doing via phone, hang up, and again call again to get a different person.

got ripped off on site

hi folks, first post here. i tried to get my tbobile shadow unlocked by the site www.instantunlockcodes.com, and AFTER i paid the 49.99, a few hours went by and they emailed me back saying they couldnt unlock the phone.... wtf? so i have two options now, i can use another service (like imiecheck, or gsm father) or if any of you can unlock it, i will give you the login to the site, for the 50$ credit. its up to you. im starting to get a little pissed off about it though.

If you're still with T-Mobile or had an account with them, I'm sure you could get them to provide the Unlock Code.
I bought a used Shadow from eBay & the seller was kind enough to help me unlock the phone by calling T-Mobile & explaining to them that the phone needs to be used overseas with other GSM network for travelling purposes.
I got my Unlock Code for free in under three days.
Hope this helps.
Ya.. I got ripped off also, luckily it was only $7.00. Wireless unlocks.. beware..
I upgraded two lines with new shadows, one for my wire and one for my daughter. The wife found hers too complicated , so I called Tmo customer service and told them the truth. I asked them if they could unlock it for me, as my wife wanted to use her old phone... Two days later they sent me the unlock code.. now using my shadow flawlessly with the at&t network..
Instanunlockcodes.com is in ICELAND
The same thing just happened to me. Instantunlockcodes.com is a rip off.
I filled in the form and paid my money and about an hour or two later I got a message that they could not find an unlock code to work on my I335 Motorola.
About ten minutes later, my credit card company called and told me a fraudulent charge had been put against my card. I explained what I did and my credit card company told me that they are already on a fraud watch list.
They are also in Iceland. It was 2:30AM in Iceland when they charged my card so it is automated to just give you a runaround.
The only problem is, if they have my IMIE number, can they steal my phone number and charge against my phone account?
I bet there are Icelanders that are saying “STUPID AMERICANS” right now.
I sure do feel stupid.

[Q] errmmmm HTC pickup problem ? * for repair*

Hi, my phone has been issued to be repaired (as you know) however I was told that i would get an email containing shipping and tracking information but i haven't
and I kinda dunno what to do as UPS (the company that's picking it up ) is picking it up Monday arrgghhh!!! However I've emailed htc twice and they haven't responded
Anyone else had the same issue?
I'm going to try and ring them tomorrow lol
i was wondering if anyone has sent their phone to htc before
do i sent the phone and battery ?
Don't you only get shipping/tracking numbers when they slap a sticker on the box and scan the product (UPS - which they haven't picked up yet)?

Check your spam folder, maybe you received the mail from UPS, but it's mislabeled as junk.
If there's no such thing, then maybe the courier has all the info needed.
well.. i phoned them and they said that UPS doesn't go out on this bank holiday! then after sorting the postage thing. they forget to send me a tick sheet WTF!
I spoke to one of them and they tried to make me write the bloody form! so i hung up and got a more useful rep who gave me everything i needed.
i just love the fact whoever recorded my problem didn't put much details in it " the phone won't turn on " lol!
anyway tomorrow will be a better day .....*crosses fingers*

replacement streak arrived today still have old one

My replacement streak arrived today but its a bit strange
I was under the imprecation that Dell were going to pick up my streak to repair it not send me a brand new one(not that im complaining).
And my old streak was not picked up(qdl tool would prop have fixed it) am I supposed to send it to them or do they pick it up.
I only ask as If i have got to send it to them then I will, but if they were supposed to pick it up I will wait to see if I get any phone calls from them. Obviously I don't want to ring them to ask them unless I really have to.
Any one who can shed some light on this turn of good luck would be much appreciated.
One word ... KARMA .. that always works with me.
Don't get me wrong I am over the moon, I just got a unexpected new phone, but Im still unsure as what to do with the old one lol
I had to call Dell to email me a shipping label to put on my old streak.

Dude, What the hell. Why are you here?
Return home from an oversea business trip, on arrived home and I discovered that I've taken someone else luggage which looks identical to mine. The content was full of real diamonds, should I phone and inform the airport and return it or keep it and wait to see if anyone contact me in the near future. What do you think?
ANOTHER THOUGHT .. You could box it up and wait for Dell to call you about the return. That way it shows Karma that you are prepared to return it but if they don't call you .... (shrug)
Replacement streak
You are lucky. I have been waiting over three weeks and was told won't be any until end of September 2011 and it will be a refurbish. I am p****sed off with the situation. If you received it by mail, the return label is in the box. I was told that when I receive replacement to ship back to them using the prepaid return label. Enjoy your new Streak.
Donate it to a Dev!

This is what I do,I get the replacement,I use it for a few days and after that I send the old one. They should've told you to do so, they also should've left a sheet with all the directions you need to follow.
They can charge you if you do not return it.
@shineydesert
Thanks for the info, I really wasn't sure were I stand every other phone that I have had replaced had been picked up when the old phone was deliverd

They will try to charge you.
Why did you ask for an exchange? is the same problem with the internal sd card?
Put the old one back in the box the new one came in. Wait a few days and you'll get a shipping label in the mail. Stick the label on the box and call fed ex to schedule a pick up. I've already got three replaced. Went this way every time
I was sent a replacement phone that was refurbished. I put the old one in the box that the refurbished one came in. Dell also included the return label. I'd say send it back and avoid any hassles.
If you look at your order status online, you will see they already charged you $1164.99 when they sent you the replacement base unit. ( how they figure this amount out is beyond me, when new streak sold for $300usd)
So if you don't return the old one you have with the shipping label they provided, they will first call to remind you, and send this to collection agency if they don't eventually get it back. At least they have your name, phone # and address

I was in the same situation before and ôte was UPS who collected it ... So put an old Nokia in the box lightly tape the box so if dell complained I could say that someone at UPS stole it ... Then you can sell it for the 100 bucks you want.. that's what I did..

Nice advice! Not only you are telling him to commit fraud, you are telling him to commit fraud in a very stupid way. I don't know where you live, but in the states this could involve the FBI, and you don't want them knocking on your door.

I didn't ask for a exchange, I thought mine was going to be repaired I didn't know that I was getting a new phone till it arrived.
The problem with the phone was files were either not copying to my sd card(tried 3 different cards) or when i downloaded things to my sd card or copied apps over they disappeared I think the sd card wasn't mounting properly.

Need to Unlock Your Dell Venue Pro?

I stumbled across this searching for a way to unlock the 4 DVP's I purchased from a guy off of Craigslist, and hot damn it works!!! all 4 of My Dell Venue Pro's are unlocked!!!!
http://www.techsoup.org/stock/dell/unlock-codes.asp
Wow, that's pretty cool. It would be even cooler if [email protected] didn't give the unlock codes to anyone who asks. Still, nice not having to ask.
Dell only gives out codes if you're the current owner, which is either:
The original owner (or at least his name and address)
You have a recipt from when you bought it off someone, and sent a copy to them to transfer ownership
If you just bought off ebay and didnt save any of the info and asked dell, they'll tell you they cant help you.

Actually, that's not true. Hasn't been my experience anyway. You just send them your IMEI and service tag code and they reply with the unlock code within a day or two. They don't ask you where you got them. Did this for two bought on ebay. If you did this through the regular dell customer support console you might get a different result.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1719945
That's the exact opposite with me, I sent them my imei code and service tag and they needed the owner's name and address before being able to give me the code.
It depends on who you get.
I actually did email Dell and never heard back from them and got desperate and just my luck found the unlock link page, however after a week I did receive the unlock codes from Dell in my e-mail as well.

[Q] URGENT !! Dell venue pro not switching on(dead) ..Error while flashing

URGENT..Please help !! :fingers-crossed:
The device was initially freezing a lot ..So I happened to change the sd card to a 16 gb microsdhc from a 8gb one..But it still was having the same problems..Then I got to know about the EM app in the phone and I by mistake updated the touch firmware in it.
That is when I decided to flash the phone. Now while flashing the phone the phone froze all of a sudden(as already mentioned this was my original(earlier) problem). And the command prompt through which I was flashing the phone showed an error,so I removed the USB cable. From then,I'm not able to even switch on the phone(Not even able to see the Dell logo).
And please give me a solution about the touch firmware that I updated by mistake(That rendered the phone unresponsive to touch)
And there is no light even in the keyboard.
Thank you .

AFAIK, once you do the touch screen firmware update via EM, your phone can't be fixed via USB flashing anymore. From what I've read the unbricking process here on xda won't work at least. I'm not sure if a RIFF box would do it with what we have on the DVP so somene might want to chime in on this?
Does the computer recognize the phone even?

Have a google at riff box/jtag man. I think someone here was doing something with one to try and revive his bricked DVP. Have a seach and contact him maybe?
And if all else fails, someone is selling a DVP system board off the bay for $40. I have no idea about the details of the listing so check it out yourself before jumping the gun. AFAIK, it even comes with a 16GB card And make sure it's worth the $40 for such an old phone... I regreted purchasing a glass for $50 to fix another cracked glass DVP when you can get one for not that much more if you wait for deals...

I don't know buying this mother board would certainly assure me that my dvp would get revived back.
And also would need the perfect tools to open up the phone ...right? Would you suggest me to open-up the dvp.(the warranty is already void).
Although I'm pursuing bachelors in technology,I've never opened-up a phone .. I don't want to regret it

Hey..just saw your post..Have you bought the system board? Is the phone now working properly ?
What kind of tools did you use ?
How did you open up the phone ?
Thanks
Hi, i bought my system board yesterday, tracking number says it will arrive at my house by monday so i'll let you know how it goes.. swapping a mother board out always fixes system errors which bricking would categorize under.. it wouldnt fix things like phone not charging or screen problems but definitely will fix cpu issues..

Oh hey mykalogist, just PM you. Didn't know you already bought the baby. Good luck with it! :victory:
And yes, SANTHOSHGODSPEED, I can't say for sure it'll fix whatever is up with your phone, but if it was mine, I would give it a try for that price. It seems very probable since so much is on that DVP board like MK said. And don't worry about taking open the phone. Just remember that it's already broken. Being physically broken further ain't so bad right?
I've taken open a few phones and the DVP is really one of the easiest. Just grab the service manual from here and peak through it before you attack it (or youtube it first). The hardest part I find is really just taking the back cover off (fingernails and guitar pick help). After that, it's easy breezy.
And I think all you need is a couple of Torx screw drivers. I think a T4 and T5 but I can't remember exactly. Tweezers or a small pair of pliers help for taking out the microSD card.

Ok so i recieved my system board today from RAKI computers on ebay thanks to Aleounge's great find.. i installed the system board and my phone works flawlessly.. yay its alive again!!.. i only have two bad things to mention however.. before i do let me point out that you will be getting a totally new phone new IMEI, service tag and E sevice number so your old phone doesnt exist anymore... ok my bads, the service board i got is locked to a network i have no idea what it is i'm still pending a find i'll be checking out my EM here shortly to see what network it is.. i tried both T-Mobile and AT&T sim cards and none of them were accepted, its asking me for a PIN/Unlock code. And remember your phone is now a totally new phone so when you call dell for this unlock code they will ask for your phone info which will be listed under a different owner so they wont give it to you until you provided them your purchase invoice from RAKI Computer. Oh so thats my update, phone works and booted up again and i was able to install updates up to Tango but the phone will not accept my T-Mobile or AT&T sim ... Hey ..thanks for the update ..
So according to you the phone is working fine and its booted-up and that you are able to update it to tango ..
But you are not able to use the phone with any mobile carrier...ie you are not able to make or receive calls..is that right ?
So you would not advice me to go with that option ?? or do you?
How's the tango update ? Is there much of a difference to the start screen ? Are you able to resize the live tiles ?
And if you do like me to go forward with that ..Can you please tell me how you disassembled and assembled it ?
Looking forward to you reply

Yes exactly right.. I found out via my EM that the system board i bought is currently locked to Cincinnati Bell Wireless(CBW).. Because of this it will not accept my T-Mobile Sim or At&T.. The good thing about this is that you will get a new Service Tag, IMEI and E Service number Sticker with the system board.. This information will be blank as if you purchased a new phone. So all you have to do is call Dell Mobility Support.. They are gonna ask you for this info then ask for a copy of your Purchase invoice as proof.. When you send them this information they will register then new system board which is an entirely new phone to your name and give you the Unlock/Pin code to Bypass your sim error.. I havent messed around with tango much so i dont know the new features yet.. Hope this helps..
Can you check what the rom version is?
I havnt heard of a Cbell locked VP before (it's possible I merely overlooked this though)
It's EM -> Phone Information -> SW version.
I assume it'll be something like
Code:
2250.1800.7720.219

CBW-US

You see that's the problem for me ..I'm from India and Dell representatives don't know a thing about this phone(they don't even know if this phone was ever launched in the market)..And at the same time I can't call the US helpline(as they would advice me to call the indian helpline;which is of no use..)..So even if I get this phone assembled I won't be able to make calls with it..(Unless I know someone in the US)
Yes it was CBW-US.. and it was locked to that network.. i called Dell and you are right they dont know anything about anything.. i waited on the phone for hours and didnt get any good news from they just loop holes.. But i found this guy that knew everything about the Dell Venue pro, sent him my imei and the network it was locked to and got the phone unlocked, i only paid 16$ on ebay and he's located in china where the phone was manufactured so i gave him my trust and it came through.. He unlocked the phone in literally 10mins.. i've been using it Flawless ever since..

Hey you guys, make sure to give "[email protected]" a try first with the unlocking (search the forum for more details). I've unlocked at least 4 DVPs and for the last two (very recent), I don't recall even mentioning it was locked to TMO. I think now that the DVP has hit EOL, Dell doesn't care too much about finding out who the original owner is (they asked for the first couple I tried unlocking, but I never actually mentioned it as I got them used and I don't even know the owners) or the other specifics. Just give them a try first since well... it's free! If it's a no go, go with what MK suggested?
A tip I think might help is to mention you're using it for business and will be leaving the country shortly. I also brought up how much I liked the phone

[email protected] wont help you because the system board you get from ebay will be unregistered.. I tried and got a response saying the phone is blank(unregistered) in their system so i need to call the mobility support to register the phone then reply with the phone info.. I called Mobility but theyre so unprofessional, i had to call back 5 times to get with someone who actually knows what they were talking about and still didnt get the phone registered as theyre telling me i had to wait 2-3 days and some run around.. so i met this chinese guy who said he knew how to unlock it in 10min, i sent him the paypal $16 and phone was unlocked right after.. Dell Support sucks.
