Did you follow the simple procedures of:
Flashing on a full charge and battery reset process?
sorry I am actually having a similar problem as Clown.
Flashing on a full charge and battery reset process?
Jenisiz - when u mention flashing on a full charge and battery reset process? where can I find the battery reset process? tried looking around after your post and can't seem to find anything about how to reset the battery.
Im very noobish at all this so if u could send me a link or steps on how to reset battery that would be GREAT

Yes I have done the CWR wiping and such. I am doing the same things I did before on DL30 but now battery isn't even lasting a day....in fact sometimes I have to put it on the charger now after only 8 hours. Mind you...I am not really doing anything that intensive. Maybe a few calls, some texting...some browsing and that's it. On DL30 I could easily go all day and still have 3/4 charge...now it's draining horribly even after wiping the stats.
Go into CWR and select the advanced option and then wipe battery stats. That could help. Also, letting your battery completely drain and then fully charging before wiping the stats could help also.

If you're using theme, remove it by flashing a new ROM. I've heard that helps with battery life, so I'm trying it out myself to see if that's really the case.
Try using a program called juicedefender from market. I found it helps my battery.
No themes being used...just the stock eb01.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
There are some reports of the GPS never really turning off using eb01. If the Gps is enabled in the drop down, disable it and report back after your next charge cycle. Obviously you can enable it when you need it, but remember to disable it after you finish.
This is possibly a kernel bug, so it may not be fixed until the next update.

I thought I was losing my mind, after installing the OTA, I modified my qwerty.kl file to wake up the phone from the optical button. I noticed that my battery life was lousy, and originally thought it was because the OTA was buggy.
I restored the stock qwerty file, and no more wake-up from the optical button. My battery life improved drastically.
I heard that this change could prevent the phone from sleeping, thus the crappy battery life. Is this true?
Hope this tip helps.
Re
Anybody else have a faster draining battery because of the optical wake fix?
Could be just because you are accidentally hitting the optical trackball while its in your pocket or somewhere else? I use it on PMF's 2.2 ROM and haven't noticed any additional battery drain.
I think its because we are all forgetting to clear battery stats. It is even required on my rom, jdfroyo

What exactly does clearing the battery stats do? Do you think it would help me? If my phone completely dies or gets down to the low battery warning, the phone doesn't want to charge at all.
It says it is charging but the battery icon isn't animating and the charging led blinks repeatedly instead of staying lit up. Even if I shut the phone off the led still blinks while it's plugged in the charger.
I have to do several reboots and battery pulls to finally get the phone to start charging.
Didn't have any trouble until I applied the OTA and flashed a 2.2 rom.

this is very intriguing. i'll check my battery against my fiance's when she gets home and report. i did the optical_wake script on mine and not hers. i'm pretty sure she had 40% when going to bed last night and I was changing out my battery for my backup. i chalked it up to streaming the race for 30 minutes while we were out shopping, but I think the optical_wake script might make more sense.
PS. both have 1500mah HTC battery ordered from bidallies on ebay for $15 =).
No difference. Our batteries were within 5%. I guess flash vids are pretty taxing on our batteries.

Interesting....maybe I'm just losing my mind and imagining things?
Thanks for your update - after I install the new OTA leak right now, I'll see how my battery life is with the optical wake fix.
Check out jdfroyo when i update it. I tweaked it so you get 15-35 min more battery and no overheating!

Myself as well as many others would be interested to know what this tweak is to achieve better battery life.
Some of us out there actually like Sense - from what I understand, your ROM is de-sensitized?
Any chance you'll fill us in as far as what tweaks you've made? I'm sure I'm not the only one that would thank you.

Battery life is really relative, you can't control everything you do on a daily basis on your phone. You can't control the number of email, text message you received, etc. or the signal reception.
So, perhaps the battery now die faster because you change the way you used your phone? It's a possibility.
It's you.
I say that because you don't follow instructions.
Step 1 is to CHARGE FULLY FIRST. Where did you see that it says let it die and wipe?
Reading is fundamental.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I use my phone the same and on bionix 1.8 thread someone posting two ways to do it one was chargefully and wipe and they other was let die then wipe..
Should I charge fully then wipe now to see if that will fix?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Bionix says to charge fully then wipe..
I doubt it's possible that reconditioning would worsen your battery life. It could be a bad app or a setting that needs to be changed. For example, the Facebook app is defaulted to refresh itself every hour.
Aside from reconditioning (which really is just to kind of calibrate your battery status with the rom) it's best to check your running apps. If you leave GPS on, some apps run it in the background etc etc.
I think people spend too much time tracking their battery life that they ultimately cause it to worsen. No need to wake the screen every 5 mins to track battery etc. I get EXCELLENT standby time using bionix mainly bc I don't take out my phone unless I need it to use, vs tracking battery.
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Yeah that's the thing when I first flashed bionix1.7 my battery would last forever buy now even on standby without checking my phone it will die.. It didn't do that before the failed attempt at battery recondition which I should not have done in the first place hopefully it will get better
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
Anyway to fix this? Should i fully charge then wipe?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
There's no guarantee that your battery will be fixed once you do it correctly. You could just have a defective battery. My first Vibrant was defective that could not get any reception and on top of that my battery would drain real fast.

Actually, You are supposed to let it charge fully > let it die > plug it in & let it charge (While off) > wipe batt stats > boot > done
I also read a post where it said letting the battery die completely is bad for "health" I guess I'll just not mess with it at all lol

Er, if you wipe the stats, won't it "forget" the draining and charging you did first, making them pointless?

Simple answer, no! You will wipe all battery stats previously stored. Starting with a fresh charge and no batt data the fone will have to re-learn the battery data and this should give you a more accurate representation ( cuz thats all it really is ) of battery state from that point on. Hope this helps.

No, his point is that you have extraneous steps. Wiping stats AFTER a charge--drain--recharge is pointless. All you have to do is charge to full with the phone off, wipe stats, reboot.

Yeah, in theory you can reduce the life of the battery. But batteries are cheap, and I doubt I'll ever have this phone long enough to see my batteries go bad.
Ima just leave my phone alone the roms are good enough

Exactly. Why charge it, drain it, then delete? The stars start over. The draining and charging are forgotten.
Sure, you wasn't to start fully charged, but draining it first seems pointless.

Straight from Cyanogens Wiki-

"Battery recalibration
If you're experiencing higher than normal battery drain, try the following:
Charge the phone to full battery; let it keep charging until the battery says it is fully charged. Do not just wait until the light is green, it isn't always fully charged, causing a lot of inaccuracies. (You can check by going to: Settings -> About Phone -> Status -> Battery Level = Full.)
Boot to recovery mode and go to console (or adb shell) and type:
mount -a
rm /data/system/batterystats.bin
NOTE: Newer Amon_Ra and ClockworkMod recoveries have an option to delete the battery stats, do this in place of the console commands above.
NOTE: To have the most accurate of battery stats, reboot the phone immediately after wiping the battery stats and wait for CM to boot completely to the desktop. Once your entire boot is done and you have full access to the phone, go ahead and pull the charger and continue with this troubleshooter.
Do not charge the phone until after draining the battery completely, resulting in it automatically shutting off.
Recharge the phone completely and then use as you normally would."

I've wondered this -- what does the conditioning actually "fix"? (I understand it doesn't affect the way the battery physically charges & drains.) Is the problem (pre-reconditioning) that the phone is thinking/saying it's fully charged when it's not, and so you're not starting off with the 100% charge you thought you were? Or is the problem that the phone thinks (and represents) that the battery is discharging faster than it really is, as you use it? Or something else?
Also, I've read others on here talk of allowing the battery to completely discharge, and then charging to 100%, ~1x per month -- without any talk of "wiping stats." Is that supposed to be something different altogether? Thx
My battery meter does not seem to be working after I updated to 2.2. The only way to get an accurate reading is to take the battery out and put it back in. I have reset to factor settings, I have reloaded 2.2. I am wondering if anyone knows how I can fix - is there some driver that can be reinstalled.
Thanks
did you use the circle kitchen to make a new framework-res.apk? this will show you a percentage in the battery meter.
I can see the percentage. The problem is the meter is never right since the update. The battery physically stays charged all day, but after about 4 hours it shows 1%. If you take the battery out and put it back in and turn it on, it will show the correct amount. This goes on all day so I never have an accurate battery reading. I've run a couple of different battery apps and they say the battery is fine and in good health, so I am assuming there is something in the battery driver that got messed up with the update. I have restored a couple of times and that has not helped.
Any other ideas would be more than appreciated.
Thanks.
flash a custom recovery and from there you can clear the battery stats, maybe that'll fix it.

yup did using app and without
Battery draining did happen to me too. To get rid of this,
1.Odin back to JFD
2.Flash back the custom rom
3.Charge it to 100%(if its switched off, use CWM to wipe battery stats, if its on use the battery calibration app)
4.Let the battery drain itself out
5.Then charge it again and use it as you normally do.
The battery should not be draining as much as before just after step 3.
From experience, coz my battery drained like 1% per 5mins maybe coz of flashing many roms, but works fine now.

I don't believe batterystats.bin works that way. It's a file that is automatically generated by the Android system so just putting someone else's file on your phone isn't going to give you great battery life.
The file is in /data/system. Check again and if it's not there and you are not plugged into power then you may have an issue. Reboot and see if it shows up and if not try odin back to stock and flashing CM7 again.
Also the app Battery Calibration is very good calibration program.

i'm using battery calibration now, but still the same, other android phones forums got the batterystats.bin file just replaced and their battery life just get better
One thing that was mentioned in the CM7 vibrant threads was to manually delete battstats.bin because it seemed cwm wouldn't actually delete it sometimes.
Using either terminal emulator (em /data/system/battstats.bin) or root explorer, delete the file.
Also, turn off data when your don't need it or aren't using it, use wifi when you can (uses less power).
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
The correct process is to fully charge your battery, wipe the stats file, then use the phone normally (without plugging it in or otherwise charging it) until Android shuts itself down.
Basically Android needs to start with a blank slate and see what your battery life looks like with normal usage, otherwise your meter will always be incorrect, it will jump around unpredictably, and will probably auto-shutdown at the wrong times. Keep in mind that your phone is essentially a small PC; you want a clean shutdown if possible, instead of the battery-equivalent of just yanking the power plug.
As others have said, you shouldn't use someone else's files, and unfortunately you really shouldn't ever swap in other batteries as they will perform differently. The battery profile also tracks information about application power consumption, which is why you should use your phone normally -- and the stats should get slightly more accurate over time.

You MUST delete it manually.

That was a post by a Google engineer. It also has a long conversation involving other engineers.
Short summary of the page in points:
batterystats.bin does not store data about the battery itself.
batterystats.bin's only purpose is in settings>about phone>battery use
batterystats.bin gets renewed each time you charge your battery.
Calibration does not exist. It is a myth.
The best way is to charge to 100% , root explorer, data/,system/,batterystatsbin and delete it and reboot. It will create a fresh bin shortly after boot.Drain it about 2-3% and charge fully
