Nandroid (other topic's link is dead) - myTouch 3G Slide General

I'm looking for a Mytouch 3g Slide Nandroid Backup (either pre-ota or post-ota, doesn't matter as long as it's stock). The current post that links to one is dead and I've lost my nandroid backup. Can anybody help?

Restoring Sticky widget note from Nandroid?

I recently updated my ROM and realized that I lost all my Sticky widget notes... I did a Nandroid backup before updating, is there a way to extract just the Sticky notes from the nandroid file? Or even if i can just read them that would be great.

Restoring stock from Nandroid backup stuck

Hi All
Have a bit of a problem restoring a nandroid backup.
I rooted my N1 (Vodafone NZ) with the UniversalAndroot app, installed Rom Manager, then ClockworkMod. From there I performed a nandroid backup before flashing CM6-RC2.
The flashing went ok but I got stuck with the boot loop problem, so decided to restore from backup. The problem now is nandroid (2.5.0.1) is has hung after about an hour trying to restore event_data "at sign" 128....lost.
I understand the restore should take a while, but how long is too long. I haven't tried to pull the battery yet. Will nandroid remove clockworkmod. My other thoughts are to try to flash CM6 again, or stock 2.2 from this elsewhere on XDA.
Any help, thoughts, ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
Apologies for posting in wrong forum.
So pulled the battery and seems to be ok. Back to out of box exept running 2.2. Titanium seems to be installing app and restoring settings ok.
Quite disappointed as was really keen to try CM, but has put me off a bit. Will wait till CM6 is stable and try again, maybe use AmonRa

[Q] Question About Backing Up...

Hi there,
I have a question on backing up Nandroid. If I backup Nandroid let's say now, is it recommended to back it up again next time? Or every once in a while? What I'm planning to do is backup Nandroid every month. Is there any need for that at all or just one backup is fine? Thanks for the help.
There is no need to do a backup every month. Just do it when you are upgrading/changing to a different ROM or you're customizing something like flashing a new boot screen. If you do not have the intention to do such things then there is no point in doing a backup.
I see, thanks.

[Q] Restoring and ROM's

Greetings,
I was searching and hunting and couldnt truly find a definitive answer and I am hoping someone or two or three could chime in.
When flashing a custom ROM and you have done a backup, could that back up be restored? Or is all previous data and such lost?
If you restore that backup you will be back to that version of whatever ROM/setup you were on prior.
For application backups it is recommended to use titanium backup or helium.

HELP - Restoring backups to a new custom rom

SOLVED!

I have been scouring the internet for over 2 hours, and I can't seem to find anyone who has done something similar to this, so here goes:
I currently have a Nexus 6P with the Pure Nexus Project Rom installed. I would like to switch to CyanogenMod. Normally, this would be no problem, however I am running into some difficulties with backups. Ideally, I would just do a NANDroid backup from TWRP, but I don't have enough space on my device. Right now I am running a full ADB backup to my computer, but in this instance I don't know if I'll be able to restore that backup to a new CyanogenMod installation.
TL;DR: Will an ADB backup restore to a new custom rom i.e. restore to CM from PureNexus? If not, is there a way to do a NANDroid backup directly to my computer?

You shouldn't be using TWRP to backup/restore data between different ROMs in the first place. That will not only back up your apps but all settings as well, which will cause problems on a different ROM. The only safe way is to use Titanium Backup to backup your user apps (not system apps) and then restore that backup on the new ROM.

Well that goes against everything I've seen... Thanks though.

Could you point me to where you've seen someone recommending to restore a nandroid /data backup on a different ROM? It's widely known that this is nothing but trouble, if it's on XDA it probably needs to be taken care of.

Titanium backup is the only really viable solution in such a case. When you need to make a snapshot of your whole system in case of failure you use a Nandroid backup, however when you need to transfer data between /system formats then it's best if you use titanium backup.
