This is a rant and a P.S.A.! Just lost all of my data on my micro sd card (the one that came with the phone - SanDisk class 2 16GB). I have a TMOUS HD2. I would use CWR backup and Titanium Backup (even have 3 history backup setup) to backup all of my data on my phone. I usually do a backup with Titanium Backup once a day.
Symptoms: Started about three days ago my phone just suddenly rebooted while just viewing my facebook friend stream widget. Didn't really thought about it because I know some people have been getting that too.
Two days ago while copying files within my phone using File Explorer, my phone restarted again. I though it was the File Explorer program 'cause when I used Root Explorer it worked fine. Later that night, I tried to play Angry Bird Seasons but it kept FC'ing on me. I restarted my phone and it worked fine after that. Then after a while it kept FC'ing again so I uninstalled Angry Birds Season and downloaded the game from the market and it was working ok again.
A day ago, I got a call but then the phone just froze up and everything lag. Waited five minutes then I was able to restart the phone up and it worked again.
Today, I noticed that my TypoClock widget was lagging and wasn't showing the current time (was about four minutes late from the time in the notification bar). I deleted the widget then put it back on and it was working ok again. I get a text message, the phone came on with the white screen but gets stuck in the white screen. I waited five minutes or so and still nothing. I restarted the phone and now it says I have a blank sd card. I plug the sd card in my pc with the adapted but still doesn't recognized the card at all. Tried to format the card with the phone but still no luck. Hard lesson learned.
So don't make the same mistake I did. Even if you do a lot of CWR backup or Titanium backup, remember to backup those files into your computer too.
thanks or all informations
try to use mybackup pro that one is nice backup software.
use sdfomatter to format your sd card .first try quick then full .
to backup your rom+app its good to use cwr.
but sd card always make problem to me also.last 2days ago at long last idid full format it takes more than an hour but lots of problem solved.
and so far it is working very nice .so far i dont have any problem .

Hi guys,
I own a Qtek 9100, running K-JAM_WWE_216901_2169101_020710_ship.exe.
Yesterday it hung during hotsync, so I had to disconnect it and SR. After loading all the OS and starting ringing for all the reminders, so screen froze. The Send & End buttons still light up the display, and the off button still works, but the touch screen is non-responsive and the volume/comm/voice buttons do nothing.
So, I HRed it, and all came back to normal. However, after I restored from my latest SPB-Backup, it hung again after the SR. This is weird, since the backup was made 2 days before my device hung. So I tried to:
1. Restore older and older backups. Got the same behavior.
2. Reinstall the ROM, and then reostore backups. Same behavior.
2. Restore the backup, to load SPB-pocket plus, and then reboot in safe mode and then restore the backup again. No good.
Anyone has any clue on what software glitch is hanging my device?
Thanks!
Rebuild
I ran into something similar, wound up rebuilding from scratch. Is your backup program running off the SD card? That was the problem in my case, the backups themselves were corrupted.
I rebuilt from scratch and the MDA worked much better afterward; I guess I had some registry problems from uninstalls or something.
I have the same issue with my Cingular 8125 (haven't taken the time to rebuild). My symptoms are the same as yours, the way I got around it (temporary, until I rebuild it) is to remove the SD card when it boots. Wait a few seconds after it boots to reinsert it.
Oddly, if I reinsert it, I can no longer receive SMS messages (messaging doesn't launch period). I can launch messaging once I remove the SD card. Reinserting it again will, once again, not allow me to access messaging. It's odd and totally came out of the blue. I didn't install anything on the phone for a few days (this started happening last week) from when before it started happening.
Oh, and I'm also running Pocket Plus (interesting...).
My android was working just fine until i restarted my phone now when i load up haret it shows the htc quietly brilliant screen then my phone turns off, anyway to fix it? i even formatted my card and tried again and still nothing
i'm having similar issues, earlier I got 'android.process.acore' force close, so I deleted my data.img in android folder, now phone shows nothing after "android" logo
worked fine all last week, second time this is happening
UPdate: nevermind, i don't think it really turns off, the screen turns off, after about 10 minutes, i pressed home button and it was fine
corrupted android build in my opinion, can happen when installing and uninstalling apps and games too often, try reformatting the sd card, and when backing up data from softwares like titanium backup, just make sure not to backup system settings or do just a clean install, and backup sms and messages from mybackpro instead.
I scoured google and the forums for a problem similar to mine, and so far, not a single thing Iv'e tried has helped (and I've been trying stuff for ~4 hours now).
After getting my SGS back from the repair shop (for the second time), I took it home, rooted it, and loaded Darky's and SpeedMod on. When I rebooted my phone, the initial SGS screen (with all the writing) froze for ~2 mins, then proceeded onto the "Big S" screen. Once there, it froze, doing it's shimmering thing for ~5 mins, and FINALLY loaded up. Initially launcher refused to open, so I was left with a blank screen with a little status bar at the top. Once it loaded, the phone became so slow that it took at least a min to start any app.
I restarted the phone (seems to help half the time), and same story, so I booted into recovery and was greeted by a blue "2e" menu, not the green CWM menu that SHOULD have shown up, and had shown up only minutes before. (I have SpeedMod CWM).
I reflashed the SpeedMod Kernel, and rebooted my phone. This time, the phone booted up far faster than it had before. I went into the "My Files" app to make sure I remembered to load backups back on, and I get a "No SD Card Inserted". I went into "setting>sd card and phone storage", and both the internal and external sd cards are listed as having an "Unavailable" total and available space value. I tried pressing mount on both ext and int, but it just sits there and doesn't ever actually do anything. (Same story for the format options). I searched around, and tried a few solutions (Tbh, probably couldnt tell you everything that I did). The last thing I tried was repartioning the internal storage. Long story short, lots of steps, but it didn't work.
Im still able to use the phone to make calls and text and everything, its just the internal and external storages that I can't use. As of right now, under the "Sd Card and Phone Storage" screen, all the values are "Unavailable", with the exception of the phone storage, which reads "0.00B".
Note: If I put the SD's into my computer, they're fully read/writable.
2nd Note: Sorry if this really just is a manifestation of the "standard SGS problem". Didn't read of anyone with quite the same problem though.
Thanks. Really don't want to have to ship my phone off for another 2 months, for the 3rd time. :/
Edit: Tried opening the camera app, and I got a Toast: "Turn off USB Storage before using camera"
Looks like it's a ROM problem. Did you try flashing a clean stock ROM insted of just flashing the kernel of a Custom one?
Hey, so today I restarted my phone and was greeted with the error "Damaged SD Card SD Card is damaged. Try reformatting it."
Obviously I didn't want to do that. So I decided to check it and popped it into my computer and everything works fine. Restarted my phone. Popped it back into my phone. Still doesn't work. I downloaded SD Insight to verify the legitimacy of the card (which I didn't think would be a problem since I picked up the Samsung Pro one at Fry's Electronics).
Just wondering if anyone else has run into this as of late and/or has a solution based on past experience? I was trying to avoid reformatting since it works fine on my computer and it's a lot of data I'd have to deal with putting back...thanks for any help in advance!
Oh. And it's a Samsun Pro+ 64GB card. If that helps.
Had this happen on my wife's mxpe. I had to back the SD card to my pc, format it then put everything back on it. When. Doing so I noticed there were about a dozen corrupt files. Not sure how or why it happened, butnita been 3 weeks now and it hasn't happened again!

I gave up and moved everything off, reformatted, and moved it back on.
Just wanted to note: this may or may not be related to something I noticed with my music. I have some Google Play Music that I downloaded to my computer and then moved to my phone (because I hate the way Play Music only lets you download the whole album). After a few weeks, I noticed my other music players (Phonograph and Black Player Music) would stop when those songs would queue up. It would say "this song could not be played" and just quit. Funny thing is, sometimes those songs wouldn't even show up on my SD card. TIt had been happening for a couple of weeks, which prompted me to restart my phone today (though not the first time I've restarted in the same time frame). Anyway. Weird.
2 weeks ago, I received a replacement S5 when the screen on my old phone died. At that time I rooted lollipop and everything was running fine.
Today, I woke up and the phone was complaining that it was running out of internal storage. I checked and it was 10.30GB/10.52GB. I deleted some files and brought usage down to 9.7GB. The phone stopped complaining. 2 hours later, the internal card is completely full. I deleted a few more files and again the card is full.
I have rebooted and turned off data to see if the phone might be downloading anything to the card. No luck. I even tried looking at the directory structure in ES File Explorer, but the darn program keeps crashing, probably because there is no free storage.
Does anyone know which directories are safe to delete/what data can be removed? would it make sense to go into the application manager and start deleting data from apps?
What the heck could be causing the internal card to be filling up? browser cache? buggy programs?
I also just remembered something else: when I woke up and unplugged the phone from an over night charge, the battery was not at 100%. I got to work and it complained that it was at 20%. I plugged it in and after 2 hours it's only up to 30%. I turned off the phone and it seems to be charging normally.

This will most likely fix all your storage issues. As for the battery percentage, that may have just been a fluke. I've had it happen once before.

I asked one of the techs here in the office and he suggested I do a factory reset. I titanium backed up everything and did the reset. I then reinstalled everything and memory is happy. Only 6.31of 10.52 is in use. The only sucky thing is that I forgot to back up my noon app and lost a few days of food, exercise and weight. Oh well.
The weirdest thing and the reason I did the reset is that when I opened the card via USB, it displayed only 200+MB of files, but told me it was full when I tried to copy anything. So weird.
When you hook it up to USB, only your personal portion of internal storage is visible to you. The system and data take up internal storage as well, but that's visible to you via USB when using Windows Explorer or any PC file explorer. Doing a factory reset cleared all of the data on the phone, including system data. That's why you have all your space now. If you use Titanium Backup to restore things, then you are most likely going to run into the same issue. If you are done restoring everything you need with Titanium Backup, then follow the link I just posted before it causes insufficient storage.
