Anyone else has this email glitch were when you read a email it still gets mark as unread and you have to read it one more time to make it go away? (I have AOL mail set up by the way)
Actually, I have this as well. For me, this happens when reading mail from an IMAP server (even on my Google account). However. I get the feeling that this is a bug in Android and not related to SE extensions.

about yahoo mail, but I want a universal mailbox, where all my 7 email accounts can be read within the same inbox. I like K9 more than stock mail, but it's still too slow for me.
For information how do you use the mail app ?
Frequency of sync, number of days/week/month of mail synced, number of mail displayed in the inbox ...
thanks
I just got my Motorola Atrix and I can't get push email from my yahoo account. I previously had an iphone and I loved the push email on it.
How can I get do the same with my Atrix??
If you made a gmail account, which you should, you gmails will be pushed. Have you gmail collect your yahoo emails.
what app are you using for yahoo mail? I have mine set using the accounts app, and my yahoo gets pushed to the default messaging app

So my first Android phone was a Motorola Cliq, and while the phone was awful there was one feature that I really liked and that was the Universal Email Client that it offered, that would take 2 or 3 email addresses and push them all into the same queue.
I am wondering if anyone knows of a good widget that has this capability.
On the Cliq I had a hotmail account, a corporate exchange server account, and two gmail accounts all with one notification and one email inbox. It was really handy for an email junkie.
Try k9 mail on the market place. I love this app, its free, and it really works......
1st!

Maildroid does it. It is a very good (and free) email client.
Hi,
While my iphone picks up email as and when they arrive, the gs3 doesnt have a Premium account service like the s2 had and one has to set the email frequency for it to check email manually.
The built in email app does not offer push on yahoo mail and corporate email on exchange.
It also doesn't set up corporate exchange accounts using google apps.
It only supports push for @gmail.com (not corporate gmail accounts using @ whatever.com using m.google.com as the server) and @hotmail.com accounts supports push on the native email app
This should happen automatically for each account like it does on the iphone, windows mobile and HTC.
cool story...now what?
Can anybody else confirm the OP? I'm waiting on a blue S3 to show up, I haven't yet taken the plunge. No Push-mail is a big bummer...
Of course it doesn't check your email if you set it to "never" - that is what never means...
And for push you need to use exchange not IMAP...

I disagree, the s3 should have a feature called push or fetch, when u ask it to check email every 5 minutes that means it is being done manually not automatically this is not how the iphone or windows phone works, on imap on an iphone it downlads the email once the server receives it that is called push on. Windows phone it downloads it as and when email arrives. What you re talking about it a setting where u ask it to check the email every 5 or 10 minutes that is not push. This eats battery like hell. On the sg2 u could set a permium account and it had push email but sadly the s3 doesnt have push email, yes i know about exchange but without exchange also it should push email which it doesnt so thats ane pic fail for the s3.
What mail service are you all using? Push works fine for gmail, hotmail and any other corporate account.
Wait a bit for the next update, maybe it's included there.
Also pls change the thread name, because no push isn't true, it should be no push at imap.

Samsung added the premium email service on the s2 which had true push email on imap. Thye havent added that on the s3 I wonder why.
I am going to have to sell this phone as it is useless for me.
The first few days i missed receiving some important emails on time and I had to manually refresh the emails and got them 6 hours late.
Epic fail Samsung, you have gone backwards!

Gmail, and ur corporate account should be set using active sync instead of IMAP. Or just use the native gmail app, coz that allows for labels and the all important bacon filter priority inbox.
Yahoo mail has its own app so u can download that

I can tell you gmail push service works with gmail app, and Hotmail works well with email app (exchange and set to push)

I have set up all accounts as imap and it still doesnt automatically pick up email if u set it to never check for emails but keep the email notifications on

which account are u using??? push works perfectly for gmail/hotmial/corporate accounts for me..incase u see issues with gmail, configure it as exchange server with domain as 'm.google.com'. push gets enabled
Let me get this straight...
OP sets email refresh to "never", complains when no emails arrive.
Do i need to say anything else?

No No No... iPhone doesn't have the "real" push mail like BBs do. And in my case, my S3 notifies me about the mail as soon as it arrives
