[Q] Push Yahoo mail - Atrix 4G General

I just got my Motorola Atrix and I can't get push email from my yahoo account. I previously had an iphone and I loved the push email on it.
How can I get do the same with my Atrix??

If you made a gmail account, which you should, you gmails will be pushed. Have you gmail collect your yahoo emails.

what app are you using for yahoo mail? I have mine set using the accounts app, and my yahoo gets pushed to the default messaging app

about yahoo mail, but I want a universal mailbox, where all my 7 email accounts can be read within the same inbox. I like K9 more than stock mail, but it's still too slow for me.
For information how do you use the mail app ?
Frequency of sync, number of days/week/month of mail synced, number of mail displayed in the inbox ...
thanks

Gmail issues with sync

Can anyone help?
I got it to the point now where it constantly shows I have email when I don't. When I go online to gmail and clear out email then my gmail app shows correctly until I delete the next email. Its a if the app isn't sync correctly to gmail.

I have stopped using the Gmail app (got tired of the interface and such) and use K-9 mail instead. Most people don't realize that k-9 mail supports IMAP idle and so does Gmail so you still get push mail.
Tried k9 before, it was unreliable for hotmail and gmail.

Don't know where you get that from. Been using K-9 since day 1 on my Epic, with 5 different email accounts (Yahoo/AIM/Gmail/Hotmail/.Mac), 100% rock solid. Gmail and AIM use imap idle so they're next to push, the rest are set to poll every 2 hrs. Works solid.

when you sign into hotmail from a pc does it state that you have any unread mails in your inbox or other folders?
why don't you set it up using exchange, that way your phone and hotmail will be in sync.. exchange server is m.hotmail.com
That my friend seems to have worked a treat, you are indeed a legend.
Thank you

Yahoo mail working from stock email app

Ok, so I just wanted to share little-something with you guys here at XDA
As you probably know adding Yahoo mail from stock EMail app will not get you anywhere... BUT what I found working is next:
1) Go to Social hub app;
2) Add account type "other";
3) fill in your yahoo mail settings;
4) and yep, it will pass verification
5) yahoo mail will be automatically added to EMail app;
6) use your Yahoo mail without need for installing other email client
Greetings!
I setup using stock Email app itself without any problem. Did you tried the stock first?

Yahoo mail not giving push service when you add in stock email app.(b'coz yahoo doesn't support idle IMAP)
there is separate yahoo mail app on market by yahoo inc. Working fine for me with push mail support
Another third party client supports yahoo push service is seven mail.
I had no issue setting Yahoo up. If you use the default app auto setup it uses pop email. Don't use this use the manual option and setup as an imap email account. The settings are available with a quick google.
i tried adding yahoo in def mail client using auto and it didnt work. when added in described way auto gives samsung.imap.mail.yahoo.com for incoming mail client. so, this is quick way of adding yahoo without need for manual settings. i use yahoo as secondary email so this does the job.
When you mean default , I meant Samsung default email app. I used settings as Imap.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com.
I then setup gmail and hotmail manually using the Microsoft exchange options and also had push email too if wanted.
So default Samsung email app works really well without using Google email app.
Stock email app only asked for my email address and configured my yahoo account automatically. Has worked fine since day 1.

I use the yahoo mail app for my note, I would love to use the stock email app but it does not support push notifications and I don't think its on yahoo's part for the push notifications as on my ipod I use the mail app and its push notifications work fine with my yahoo account so I'm thinking its the stock app that doesn't support push notifications and hopefully the email app has push notifications on ICS

Mail app no longer spoofing Email address

I use the Mail app as I don't like the layout of the Gmail app.
I have my mail accounts set so that my Google mail account should send emails as my main ntlworld(virgin) account.
Until recently this all worked fine, but now all my emails are been delivered from my Google mail account. I have not changed any settings so it must either be a change to the gmail servers or the mail app.
Strangely using the gmail app the spoofing still works.
Anyone experienced this or know how to get things working again.
