Hey guys. This is probably a st00pid n00b question, but this is the only place to find 100% correct facts. I highly doubt it is possible on an non-rooted phone, but I just installed the sense flashlight .apk which I also thought was impossible.
I did do a good deal of searching before this post, but couldn't find an answer.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

For the notification bar I don't think so, but for the clock download 'beautiful widgets' in the market and you'll get that clock and a whole lot better ones too.

For the clock google "Fancy Widget apk". Works great on my G2. For the rest I'm not sure.

As far as I know you would need root for the notification bar because system files are replaced or modified and that can only be done with root access. Unfortunatly its not possible with the temp root that we have now since you would have to reboot the phone for any changes done to the files to take effect. So until we have a permanent root solution I think its pretty much impossible.
I kinda thought so. I really appreciate the quick responses guys!
I have used beautiful widgets before. That is an awesome app. I am currently using weather widget, and I'm very impressed with it too!
I just hate that white notification bar at the top. I heard the G2 may be "unrootable". But I know if it can be done, it will be done here.
Thanks again, guys!

Flash the manup themed rom for temp root in the dev section.
The bar is black ...

I have been reading that the G2 is currently unrootable. Is that not true?

there's no permanent root yet, only temporary.
Hey guys,
I no longer have an INC (was stolen) so I am going to pick up a Fascinate. One thing that I loved on my droid was the flip transitions. I did a quick search and did not see anything for the Fascinate. If you dont know what I'm talking about check out this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=813162. Any ideas? or can anybody port it ?
There are transition animations. I can't directly link, but search the themes and apps section carefully. I had them on my phone when I was running DI01. I'm not sure if they are available on DJ05, but I can't see why they wouldn't be soon if they aren't already. I hope this helps.

thanks, I'll keep looking.
I searched and couldn't find the solution to this. After I installed the froyo update, my app drawer was in some random order. It took a while for me to figure it out:
You have to be on in the apps screen.
Press the menu button on the bottom left of the phone.
Press Edit.
Press the menu button on the bottom left of the phone again.
Press "a-z sort".
This was bothering me, so I figured I'd share the solution.
But is there a way to set it to sort this way all the time. I have to go and do this every time I install a new app

Not that I could find. This isn't ideal but is better than having to move each app to the correct location manually.
Just be happy you have the option. It seems like there trying to set up the app drawer to be more like the iphone but at least we have the option to set it to alphabetical order. But on the brighter side if you hit menu and then edit you can delete what ever apps you want. Which is similar to the iphone to.
This is because the Epic runs Touchwiz 3.0 after the 2.2.1 update. The International Galaxy S, the captivate, fascinate, etc could already do this.

@Zanderman, I can't seem to find the option in International Galaxy S.
Could you list out the steps please.
Sorry, was already answered...

Okay, I've got to say that this site has been quite helpful, I successfully rooted and flashed my droid with apex w/o having to ask a single question.(though I admit I still don't know all the jargon) And now I was wondering if anyone has seen any themes for ADW based on halo?
I saw one for star wars, lol but what I have in mind is a bit different. I want to get my phone to boot up with the halo 3 ODST loading screen. And as it finishes loading a picture of the superintendant with NO PUBLIC ACCESS below him.
My questions now are: is all of this even remotely possible? Would anyone wish to help me? And what do I need to know to be able to do this?
Your time is greatly appreciated.

I'm in the same boat. Is there a workaround for this? Maybe for rooted devices?

If that's the only reason you need the lock screen password then yes I can confirm once again that it works. Just follow the thread.
Another option is to use WidgetLocker. Then you would have the lockscreen Dashclock and a customizable unlock slider, and then a password/pattern lock screen afterwards. This is what my wife uses, and it works well.
Isn't the smartest option to just use the Quick Glance Air Gesture? It does show unread messages and emails after all......

Not the same. The lockscreen is a bit more convenient IMO. Quick glance would require an extra step to unlock the phone.

Yea really and I did read what I wrote. We're talking about how to fix a $600 phone to make it work BETTER. Of course its notbon the same level as curing cancer or world hunger. From what I've read in your post your always right. Bud just because someone else wants to mess with their phone when they have to Odin to fix it, or they are looking for a solution to a problem you feel is unimportant does not mean they are less then you. Some of us want to make our phones as good as they can be FOR US. This is what this whole site is about. DEVELOPING ways to IMPROVE our phones. Improvement for ke may mean nothing for you but still it deserves a place here. This site is not KryptosXLayer2-development.com.

WHOA, settle down, good God! Apparently this issue IS as important as world hunger or curing cancer to you!
You don't have to attempt to educate me on why we screw around with these phones, I'm not new to this, chief..... I just recommended something that works for JUST as well, but you've obviously got some issues to resolve in your own life, so have fun dealing with all that, geez!

Everyone has their issues in life. Mine are fairly minor. I'm just not big on stopping progress just because I feel the immediate effects are useless. To me the end result could be something amazing. This might end up inspiring someone to get AOSP lockscreen working, or even someone to learn to code etc. Basically I see it as an opportunity. I took your comment the same way I take people who dont want to research basic science or ways to save certain animals from extinction etc because they dont see the immediate point. Of course this is much less important but the thought process seemed the same "I wont benifit in the next few days, who cares". I try to allow my mind to stay open, and to see opportunities were ever they appear. I dont honestly think 5 threads about bootloaders aee needed or the AdamOutler's thread is needed yet (I personally would have waited until Dan released his hack to expect the theead to stay on topic since so many people laced so much hope on Dan that theybare foing to talk about it every were they can.) But I dont go around telling these people they are wrong and their issues unimportant. I let the threads be and check in from time to time to see if anything meaningful has occured. Maybe it's just the American in me be I perfer to let people have their important issues and help those I can and those I agree with while not bothering those whom I can't help or those whom I don't agree with.

I like widgetlocker. Only issue I have is sometimes it does not load, or is slow to load. These are nit to bad though and this is what is holding me over until I can mess around and try to enable AOSP lockscreen.
