I get the 8 character code, but what do I do with it? There is no tool/code instructions for it

Put a new sim of other company and then it will ask you for unlock code just put these 8 numbers and you have a unlock touch

Say yes, and open unlock_result.exe with the hexeditor. There is your imei number and next the unlock code.

Can confirm my UK Orange SIM locked phone is now unlocked and working on TMobile also.

A problem, every time i reset the pda it starts in landscpae mode, i changed the screen settings to portrait but it keeps on starting this way !! Any solutions ?

Maybe you could try a full hard reset? or start a new thread as it has nothing to do with unlocking.

I have recently bought touch,when I called up htc customer support center they told me,if I unlock it my warranty will get void.does it really get void or its a bad joke ? im in india on airtel.

Simlock and windows 7

Hello. I am thinking about switching from windows 6.5 to windows 7, but there is one thing that worries me. Is there a possibility that after ROM reset and installing windows phone 7 my simlock that I recently took returns?

no.. it will stay unlocked... i used wp7 to unlock it... at first i thought i wouldnt work but when i inserted a different simcard it asked for the code and accepted it... since then ive flashed around wm6 wp7 and android and it has stayed unlocked

Hey everyone, just got my phone back from HTC cause my screen kept freezing up on me and had no touch. But got it back and never used Windows 7 before, always 6.5
My big question is i want to try Windows 7 on it and didnt know if i unlock the phone and put WM7 on it, am i able to go back to 6.5 if i dont like it?
Also i cant find the program i once had to unlock the phone so you can flash roms, anyone have or send a torrent site please.

First of all, it's Windows Phone 7 (WP7). Secondly, yes you can go back to WM6.5 if you have a WM6.5 ROM or the stock ROM. Third, there is no program to unlock your phone. It's a code you get from your service provider. Also, your phone doesn't have to be unlocked to flash.
Follow the links in my signature to learn how flash and what you need to learn. Flashing is not for the timid....you do something incorrectly and you can brick your phone! Fair warning.

I know all about flashing for 6.5 cause i've done it probably 20 times. I just was not sure if it is different for 7. I am new to WP7 so that is what i am asking about. Thank you

Yes the process is different with a new flash utility on the front-end called MAGDLR. Follow the thread in my signature for how to install WP7. I would suggest you still use task29 like you did in the WM6.5 world.

[Q] Android on Omnia B7610: phone not working

Hi,
I did a lot of research before I ask here. I have an omnia B7610 and I have installed 2011-10-18: Froyo beta3. Everything is working fine but Icant make calls. The phone never ask me for the pin code. I tried everywhere but still the same problem.
I uninstalled Froyo beta 3 and install it 3 times and still same problem.
I need help.

I dont know what I am doing wrong but still my phone omnia B7610 doesn't ask me for the pin code. I follow all the teps and I have android working very smooth but never ask me for the pin code. When I install th version Froyo beta2_1024. The phone ask me for the pin code and I hahe phone line but when I install the new versions Beta 2 or Beta 3 the phone never ask me for the pin code.
I have tried to enable the fly mode but slitt same problem.
Is there any solution?

Sorry if this is stickied/posted or doesn't belong here but I can't find anything. I just recently flashed a Windows 7.5 rom on a HTC HD2 that's locked to T-Mobile, so I purchased an unlock code to try and use it on At&t but it doesn't work. I added the APN settings and nothing. Is it not possible to unlock? Does it need to be unlocked in Windows 6.5 stock state?
Rom Installed: [v4 Final Version] CTRLPDA FSM HD2 Mango ROM [03.01.2012]
FYI - Unlocked Sim Pin was also accepted but it still says no network found.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I wish to confirm this.
My friend tried to unlock with windows phone 7.5, but it would not take. It showed 'unlocked', but it did not unlock.
Went back to wm6.5 and it was OK. Then reinstalled 7.5 and it remained unlocked.
It was a lot of work really because a lot of time was put into the project in the end - trying to figure what was wrong with 7.5 then going back to 6.5 and loosing all the settings etc. So be warned!!!

settings from apps and games you can backup and restore with Windows Phone Device Manager v1.7.0.0 (unfortunately not work with public v1.8.0.0)
edit: new WPDM v1.9.0.0 working very fine

Another thing...can anyone confirm whether a custom 6.5 rom will work? I previously had an Energy rom and was wondering if it could have been done then?

yup unlock works fine in wm, to save yourself time have a wee search or failing that ask, could have saved you some time =)
