Hi all,
I really need you guys help there..
I own a Asian version galaxy tab...
I first wanted to try out modaco r3 kernel so i flash the non-EXT4 version and it brings me to boot loop( doesn't get pass first samsung screen....)
then i had no clue about what to do and decided to flash back to HK rom with odin and when it is done it does get pass the first screen but it is now stuck and the samsung screen...where it occasionally vibrate and is stuck there
I really have no clue what's going on and it's the first time i encountered such problem since I've been a member in xda
I really hope if anyone can help out and lead me somewhere i can just turn my tab on and use it..
many thanks..
-Wilson
Also I've root my phone before and when i am done with the odin flash for the firmware...it actually gets me into recovery instead of to reboot directly
not sure what else is needed for you guys to help out...but if i can provide anything, please let me know
@season007
I encountered a similar problem just yesterday night while trying to flash to the New Modaco Kernel and Rom. While flashing the kernel, ext4 conversion took place and since then it just took me to a samsung boot window where a yellow window with half written text along with constant vibrations occurred.
I was able to get rid of it by installing Roto JMI v2 rom using Odin. ( Just put the "pit" file and the PDA rom and start. It takes about 5 minutes and my device is working again! P.S its a pretty good rom. Blazing fast!
You can get it here along with instructions : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=939360
Cheers!

What version of darky's rom were you using and which stock firmware version did you want to go back to?
It could be that you were using a version of darky's rom that is gingerbread and you flashed back to the froyo stock rom.

Ok, try to turn on the phone pressing VOLUME DOWN+HOME+POWER and see if the phone goes in Download Mode.
Then, follow the guides that you can find in the forum and flash with ODIN a new ROM (I suggest JS8 if you're in EUROPE, Froyo 2.2.1)
Download Mode work ? 3 buttons holding Vol down+home+power

Here is a link to the official stock Bell JL2 firmware, there is a slightly newer one but i can't find the link and this should work fine.
You will need to use Odin to flash the file
*edit; forgot the link. http://www.multiupload.com/UTFJCCIP5H
download a stock Eclair or Froyo Rom from samfirmware.com with (512.pit,PDA,MODEM,CSC) get in download mode (vol up+power+menu all at the same time) flash via ODIN DO NOT UNPLUG wait till full flash make shure you have at least 60% battery left before flashing
if it dosen't work search around you'll find some methods its not bricked its just in a continuous loop
i tried flashing with that link you gave, but ODIN doesnt do anything after this
<ID:0/004> Added!!
<ID:0/004> Odin v.3 engine (ID:4)..
<ID:0/004> File analysis..
<ID:0/004> SetupConnection..

Did you add the tar file to the PDA section of Odin? That should be all that's needed in odin, no repartition, no pit file and the Tar file that was extracted from the Zip file placed in the PDA section of odin.
I forgot to add, did you run Odin as an administrator?

Here is the thread where i got the link to the Rom from, i'm reading through it now to see if there are any similar problems http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883568
According to post #45 on that thread you should flash the rom with the 'Phone Bootloader Update' option checked.
I'm not 100% certain on that and don't want to give you some wrong advice but if i remember right, it was the new bootloader in JL2 that fixed the SD card problems that the Bell vibrants had. It's up to you if you want to try flashing the file with that option checked. Unless you get some better advice.

They'll send it off to the repair centre and try to determine and fix the problem. If they think the problem was caused by you then they might try to charge you a fee for fixing it.
Have you installed Kies on your laptop before (just to know if you have the samsung drivers that come with it installed)
If it has come to the point where you're thinking of bringing it to the store then, personally, i would try flashing the JL2 rom with the update bootloader option checked. That's just what i'd do personally though.
It could also be something simple like trying to flash it from a different usb port.

Yea, that was the problem; now I remember! Some months ago, I had your same problem (an apparent brick, vibrating on the big S at the startup). A user suggested me to simply flash a FW with a Bootloader (at the time, the JPU), ad it worked ^^

Haha, no problem! glad to help
i was in the same position a few months ago and the JL2 rom helped me out. I keep a copy of it on my harddrive to use if things go tits up again.
Hey, so I recently got my Samsung Galaxy S II from at&t and I rooted it. I was trying to flash the villainrom onto it but I guess I flashed the english(not sure what to call it) version of it. Now my phones voice drivers wont work and my back button doesn't work. I tried to go into recovery mode and it lets me but I cant select anything because when I hit the home button to select something it just takes me back to the top of the list. I just want to get my phone back to stock. Can anyone help me please? I'm really very sorry if this is in the wrong place. Please, any insight on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
use the power button to select in recovery...if you have a power button ?

The power button just gets rid of all options and sits at the hat thats in the background. Is there anyway to restore to stock with my computer or odin or something? Thanks for the reply! Does anyone know if I can use the android SDK to access my phone?
cant you Odin flash a stock rom (at&t ofc) from samfirmware? this sure unroots your phone but also send it back to the original conditions.
After that, just root again.
That worked like a charm! Thank you! I didn't realize that I could flash it from Odin. Was tough finding the file that works with the at&t phone though. Here is the link to the post I found in case anyone else needs to do this. This is exactly what happened to me. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18262016
Hi there ... yes I've done something wrong and would like to try to fix it without going to Vodafail to get them to berate me.
I was trying to install PhilZ Touch recovery but was having trouble with Odin (1.85, and 3.07 I was trying) and finally gave up and just wanted to make a normal boot but the dreaded firmware message has come up.
I've had a quick search & read and it seems that I need to flash (with Odin) a new stock ROM.
It's getting late here so I'm not going to try anything more without a lot of advice and reading.
So any suggestions please?
I'm in Australia with Vodafone, phone is about two or three months old. i9505.
Cam you get into download mode? Turn it off then press home, power and volume down at the same time, if you can download a stock firmware for your device this can be found at Sam mobile. Then flash it with Odin. Always use the latest version.

Hi,
Stock firmwares are HERE
Try ODIN 3.04 as well
Thanks guys, I'm downloading http://www.hotfile.com/dl/227186782/ebf4c32/I9505XXUBMEA_I9505XSABME4_XSA.zip.html now and will try it when it's finished.
And yes the phone will go into download mode okay.
I also had a think about it last night and I'm not against putting a different ROM into it, any suggestions?
Okay trying to flash that rom with Odin failed.
Where do I go from here please? Like I mentioned, I'm more than happy to try a custom rom.
Hmmmm just tried flashing CWM recovery ..... that failed as well.
Help!!
Know its probably a stupid question but did you root the phone before trying to install Phillz recovery?
If not, try CF-Autoroot, then try Phillz recovery. If you can't get these flashed you may have corrupted your partition table. Here's a link to the PIT file you need - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2265477 (Make sure you get the right one or you can say bye bye to your toy- I believe you should have an I9505)
Read this, then go and try again....
Cheers.... :good:

Which version of Odin should be best to use?
Ah! Flashing the pit file thingy did it, THANKS!!!

No problem, just remember though that flashing the pit file is no small thing... If that stuffs up or you have a corrupt pit file you can actually hard brick your device... It really is the final step before giving it back to Samsung to fix...
Glad it all worked out and cheers....:good:
Yes I'll try to not need to do that again!

That shouldn't have failed, CSC mismatch is not a cause of flash failure. Can you provide more details?
Hm...
Hi guys,
I had an issue similar to this and have no recollection what I did to fix it. I don't even think that I fixed it, ever. Meaning - no stock ROM install for me for months and months now.
I just downloaded some AOSP/TW ROM and flashed. Are you able to get to the custom recovery? Please confirm - I've read somewhere that you can flash stock from custom recovery. I did try a few "PIT" files, with no help.
P.S. I remembered a bit now. I was finally able to flash it through Odin, but entered boot loop. So, no go!
My eyes are on this thread.
Good luck,
Sonny B.
