You will have to flash a verizon prl. Also make sure the settings in qpst revert back to verizon...especially the ppp configs. If it was properly flashed to cricket, flashing the modem alone won't do it. More them likely, all the settings will have to be corrected.
yep. you will need to enter all the VZN info that was removed to have it hooked up on cricket and you will also have to hope the phone isnt blacklisted on VZN's ESN list. if it is your friend will have a nice android MP3 player that he can play games on.

Yeah...typically phones that nice on cricket have bad esns
Is there a guide somewhere to putting all the VZN settings back in? And he said the guy said the ESN was good.

I'll check to see if I saved a file. Do you have a fascinate?
Don't have it anymore. But try grabbing and flashing this prl. Then *228 to see if it can activate. If it activates but you don't get net or mms, then let me know and I will walk you through it.

Ok...download the samsung drivers and a program called qpst. I hear Build 355 is out haven't had a chance to use that one but should be the same. Anyways, hook up your phone to qpst and switch it to dial up networking. Select add new port and find which port you hooked it up to. Name the port COMX (put the port # where x is). Under label name it usb. Hit enter then find the phone and click it. Then select service programming. Then go to the roam tab and then go down to the send file option select browse and locate the prl and then select flash to phone. Make sure it is a *prl and not a zip. Phone will reboot and then attempt *228. Im not infront of the computer but thats the gist. If you can't get it let me know and I will attempt a complete walkthrough. Im on my phone so it's a wee difficult.

Are you going back to vzw? If so, a *228 should fix it...if not let me know
after trying to port a rom from the epic, i realized that i forgot to remove their pst apps so it rewrote some values to my fascinate. calls/sms work but data only works sometimes and reboots the radio often. Im going to try flashing that prl file with qpst. if that doesnt work do you mind walking me through a possible way to fix data?
I would love to see a walkthrough on this ... i'm not really understanding how to get the dial-up networking to work since i cant even do anything but attempt to activate on roaming

Depending on what software you're on...dun can be accessed through the wirless network settings or **33284 ( Then enter spc 000000).
And actually I think I just figured out a simple way to get settings back to vzw. use qpst build 355 and input all the correct cdma info for verizon. And hit write to phone. The phones are prewired for three g only through vzw and that build of qpst will not be able to rewrite the settings so upon reboot the original vzw settings and password will reappear.
If we are able to flash veeizon to cricket y can't we flash sprint to verizon

You can...it's just more work. And depending on the carrier, like sprint, requires you know someone that will add your flashed phone to the database. There are methods...but as they violate certain laws I cannot discuss on this forum. Since the fascinate is a verizon phone it's software is typically already hard wired for big red. So apn and nv values will revert upon incomplete programming. It's rather simple to flash a phone back to verizon.
I really couldn't find a clear answer on any of these, so I thought I would ask. Sorry if it's been cleared up.
1. Can I get VVM on my Epic flashed on Cricket to work?
2. Has a practical MMS solution been discovered?
Sorry, like I said, I searched but couldn't find a clear answer. Thanks.
1. VVM - not sure - if it's something the Kyocera has on it as a stock application, probably could just take that app. You can always use Google Voice as well for VVM. Not sure if they actually support VVM, though.
2. This has been done, supposedly, but I believe the solution is ROM specific for some reason. Someone hacked one together and offered to do it for other ROMs -- I would search the forums for his post about it. (MMS, Epic, Cricket tags should find it) Basically, you'll need the custom APK to use, in addition to correctly setting up the APN's on the back end of the phone.
The guy who did the MMS post should have steps on how to do everything for #2. For #1, I've discovered that for Google Voice to work, you *need* to have the GV phone number in a similar area code as your Cricket number. i.e. Houston has 281, 713, and 832. I tried using a Dallas forwarding number and it wouldn't work. Using an 832- extension, did work, though (and my phone number starts with a 281 area code).
Hope that helps!
Yes, I'm currently using GV, but it doesn't always forward and some messages get left on my regular vm.
Yeah I did find a post where a dude said that he had it all figured out but then he took it down saying that he was going to post it on Ebay for $1 each. So that's why I figured I'd ask.
Personally, I'm thinking of getting this flashed onto Boost. It might run better and about the same price. Too many headaches with Cricket and this phone (plus ****ty service).
How do you like the new GB update? To me, it sucks. Seems like there is nothing new on my phone except for the design/menus and stuff like that. I was bummed. **** they still have Asphalt 5 listed on there... like wtf. I was hoping that the GB update would help me with my cricket reception, but it doesn't so that's why I'm thinking about Boost also.
Hello,
I bought a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 GT-P5100, and from some reason, the carrier I bought it from, installed their own ROM and removed the Phone function from the tablet and I can't dial, only use the internet for browsing, so I was wondering, is there a way to bring the phone function back?
Thanks !

because of some tax issues, some carriers remove the phone option, when the device has cellular phone calls options, it a "phone" and not a "media device" or "computer tab" and the amount of the tax that the carrier (and you) need to pay goes higher, so they remove it to keep the price fair and not to start **** with the government office that in-charge on the mobile phones.
you always have the option to install stock rom with the phone option, it WILL damage your warranty and its on your own risk.
good luck!

In order to install stock rom you have to root it first right? is there a guide to do the whole process? (rooting + installing stock rom on galaxy tab 2 10.1?)

or, you could activate google voice, get issued a free phone number, thats what I did on my wifi only model, it would use your data plan instead, and works great, that way you could give your google number to all the gumbahs and your real number to the real folks in your world. Their are a number of apps that you can use and they work seemlessly with your native app and I had great conversations on voip with no noticeable lag.
Their are a number of 3rd party apps that intergrate with google voice, sign up for the service first, I made a deposit on it years ago and make and take calls on it, no problem, with no charges. If they leave v/m the service transcribes the voice mail and sends it to me via email, which is very nice option, along with spam/call block type features it beats the hell out of what the LEC's offer.

Google gives me a phone number and I will be able to call other phones? or it is more like Skype or Viber - that I can call to people with Skype or Viber only? will the people I call to need to pay something?
**Edit : I searched for "Google Voice" in Play Store but I didnt find it, I think it's not available in my country.
I guess I will need to root and install stock rom, is there a guide for doing it on Galaxy Tab 2 10.1?
So is it possible to make VoIP calls on a wifi only model? Like with GVoice over an internet connection? Or is there a better app?

Is there anyone working on this?
Or close to being done?
ForceRom has them on the to do list.
But im not sure on progress.
anyone have any updates?
Also I know some international roms have in app call recording toggle, is there anyway to port that for sprint? I dont see why it wouldnt work since it has nothing to do with the phone radio. Im guessing it the rom it will just be the secphone.apk? If someone confirms that ill give it a shot and report back.
I, too, really want the Call Recorder function but it seems like either no one on the Sprint side knows how to implement it or don't care enough about it. I know the Wanam rom for the i9505 has Call Recording enabled. You could flash that rom & get it. Just follow the tutorial for installing ROMs from other S4's to our S4.

do you have a link to that to tutorial?
So I decided im going to try using thee Wanam Lite secphone.apk, and push it to Force Rom.
I am downloading Wanam right now, so when I get done ill report back and let yall know if it worked or not.
It will be super awesome if this works, because I know many sprint users would love to have call recording,
and this should be a pretty simple process.
com.sec.phone kept crashing over and over. and I had no signal.
shuld I get the com.sec.phone from wanam also?
Another Sprint S4 user had success & got Call Record working by flashing the entire Wanam ROM. The tutorial has been deleted, it seems. If I remember correctly, you're supposed to flash the Wanam ROM then flash a Sprint S4 kernel right after in the same session.
Perhaps create a nandroid first then try? If I remember that user's name, I'll let you know or maybe he'll chime in here.

I dont mind flashing it, but the thing is i saw a thread talking about it and apparently people still couldnt get data after, even after they flashed the sprint kernel. Also read it needs to be a touchwiz kernel.
i flashed it, and its working great. everything works on it except for data.
so can anyone help me out with the apns?
and where do I enter the apn settings on the gs4?

Exactly
I posted this in another thread, not sure if it works. My guess is that you'd have to copy the settings from a Sprint ROM and then manually input them after flashing an I9505 ROM.
http://www.phonebuff.com/2012/07/configure-apn-settings-for-android/
You should be able to get to some if not all of those settings, by dialing ##3282##. You will need to enter your MSL number. There is a thread here in the Sprint forum, on how to get your MSL. I used, get my MSL from Gplay and it worked. Just follow the directions Once in, right down all of the settings and then put those settings in, once the different carrier's rom is installed. Good luck, and let us know the outcome

1st of all, my main problem, was finding the apns in the wanam rom. I was able to find them in the sprint rom, because ##data# works. but when you go to the i9505 rom, that dial code does not work. I actually ended up getting access to the aps by using an app from gplay, called offline sim apn database. it has an option that opens up your apn list, and from there you can edit them, so I took all 4 of my sprint apn's, and entered them. there was 2 lte apn's and 2 ehrpd apn's. Well after high hopes, that was all I had. nothing happened. so there is definitely more than just entering apn's. I messed around with *#0011# for like 2 hours, trying to figure something out, but I got no results. so imo, we will just have to wait til something gets figured out. I personally am stuck for now,

Stock TW has a flashlight widget called "Assistive Light" that is built in and super quick.

For a flashlight toggle, I'm using "Mappz Quick Settings" from Play Store. It gives you AOSP-style Quick Settings tiles, including one for Torch, that you get by pulling down from the center of the top. If you pull down from the top left or top right you get the regular TW Quick Settings and Notifications.
The "Torch" moment's likely csn be interested into the Lockscreen and prolly added to the notification tray. I'm hoping to finish the toggle for turning on/off the am/pm & Time today. I'll look I to the Torch toggle this afternoon.

Hey everyone, I got my unlocked Note 8 yesterday and have been using it with a T-Mobile sim card. I spent a bunch of time trying to get the built in video calling to work and I finally got it, so I thought I would post a guide so the next person doesn't have to do the leg work.
Here is what I did, and I can now call other T-Mobile users via dialer based video calls: (the one down side is all numbers show the video call option, even if they are not T-Mobile customers, the calls just turn into audio when the other person answers)
1. Download Shortcut Master from app store (Light version works, but it's a great app, support the dev if you can)
2. Open the app and go to the menu (three dot's top right) and select app explorer
3. Scroll down to IMS Settings and select it.
4. Scroll down to ImsSettingsLauncherActivity (last item on my list) select it and hit launch.
5. Select IMS Service Switch and under that turn on everything on that screen. (For me most things (especially RCS items) were disabled by default, but when I looked at a friends S8+ settings they were all on so I tried that and all works now.)
6. Make video calls!
That's it, you should be able to make video calls from the dialer now.
Hope this helps someone! Thanks to the app dev and everyone on here for all the help I have gotten over the years!

How did you get this to work? i followed the guide and it shows the video icon in the dialer but when i call a friend with the exact same setup it says "video calling is currently not available" and then only does voice.

As far as I'm finding on XDA, we'll need to flash the CSC from a T-mobile device to get this working. When I googled it, I found this thread in the S8 forum with a utility for switching CSCs but I am not sure if it would work for the Note 8, and in my case really not sure if it would work to flash a Tmobile CSC (Snapdragon device) on my Korean Exynos model.
Anyway, check it out and let me know what you think: https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...ility-flashable-csc-selection-v1-0-0-t3605264

Interesting, good to know and thanks for the info. I won't be getting the unlocked one, I'm getting the international version for rooting so we'll see if it works with that. Sure hope it does because tmobile reception is abysmal where I live.
I have a t moble variant, I want to flash the unlocked firmware but will able to flashback to the t mobile firmware if I wish? that's the only thing stopping me from flashing the unlocked firmware. the video calling was a big deal for me so thank you for figuring this out. also are you 100% on the unlocked firmware or do you have the t mobile CP flashed with the unlocked firmware?
