Facebook - Droid X General

I know this isn't the normal thing that is posted here but I'm going to try anyway because this is a hacker's forum.
Is there anyone out there who knows how to hack a Facebook account using the Droid x? I know it can be done with a computer but I don't have one with admin privileges right now
Any help would be greatly appreciated

You may eventually see it on the forums here but in the mean time you can check out alldroid.org
alldroid
Alldroid is a mess at the moment after the Sholes team left the forum, I've read some other devs left as well. Something about moderator abuse.
Besides, the layout really isn't the best one out there..
Enough about that, it would be great to see some more phones up here and get the expertise from teams developing for those phones.
So then where are all the developers?

Where to go for Motorola Droid Rooting

I have a buddy at work that has a Motorola Droid and I know a few of you guys here have had and probably rooted this phone, and can tell me where to point him for instructions and Roms.
I referred him to xda-d, but I could not find a section for the Motorola Droid.

Obviously your search works better than mine, my results are websites that want to sell me Androids, even if they have no clue what it is they still sell them.
Anyway I posted here because forums are the best place with the best sources of information.
The easiest way to root the phone, if it's still on 2.0.1, is to use DMupdater, available here, http://droidmod.org/category/dmupdater/. If it's already on 2.1 you will have to follow the instructions here, http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/47349-now-you-can-live-without-fear-bricking.html.

RLKirk, I think they were trying to help, but at the same time trying NOT to negatively reinforce behavior... I think the phrase goes something like, "Give a man a fish and he eats for 1 day, teach him how to fish and he'll never starve."

[Q] droid X rom

I thought I posted this before but I think the whole raid controller thing happened and it got erased so I'll ask again. I asked in the Q&A section and was told to ask here so here it is. I was wondering if there is any way possible to port the Droid X rom over to our HD2? I absolutely love a lot of features in that rom including the gallery and the scrollable widgets. I have the Droid X dump, just have no idea what to do with it. I figure the screen resolution should be just about perfect for our phones too as the screen size is almost the same. Please help if you can. Thank you.
BTW. here is a link to the Droid X dump incase anyone wants to give it a go. http://www.multiupload.com/PPR6UW10H6
Just make a screenshot of the droid x build, print it out,put it as a sticker on the hd2 : problem solves, droid x on the hd 2...
Thanks for the help, I asked in the Q and A section they told me to ask here, I searched the android development forum before posting it again but didn't see the other one I did and thought it might have gotten deleted when the raid controller problem was going on and I never got to see if anyone replied before that. Forgive me for asking questions I will not do it again. Thank you again for your speedy replies and again I am sorry for asking if there was a possibilty of something.

It's cool, people on XDA can get pretty snippy sometimes. If you notice, A LOT of people are posting non "development" type stuff in the "development" subforum, like random questions about screen freezes and stuff.
This subforum is for kernels, ROMs, builds, and stuff. Questions like this would be posted in the "Android on HD2 General" subforum.
I would also like to see a Droid X ROM, but don't know how to port a raw dump to a stable HD2 ROM, what I would do is upload the dump and link it in a thread, and then maybe some developer looking for a challenge will take on the task.

first Id like to say I really like how you handled this.
Secondly isnt the droid x software just motoblur? if so then there did motoblur roms a while back for the g1 which we called esspresso.
maybe one of those roms can be ported even though it isnt froyo.

Thanks.
Well you have a point, but I think they may have incorporated a "newer" version of motoblur that takes advantage of the more features of the phone, and maybe more widgets. I wouldn't know exactly though. And honestly at this point you gotta do Froyo if you're going to cook an HD2 rom.
I don't know a lot about the Droid X to be honest (although I use that NFL app that was ported on my MIUI rom on my HD2).
Thank you all for your support and replies. I am sorry for posting in the wrong section, I never intended it to be such a harmful post or get people all up in arms about anything. I just want to learn, I am pretty good with coding certain things like any web language and some linux/unix stuff but I don't know if I'm advanced enough to take on a task like this. I can however design anything anyone could need. If I can help in anyway with anything I would love to. Here is the system dump from the Droid X if anyone wants to take it on http://www.multiupload.com/PPR6UW10H6 . Like I said if I can help in any way feel free to tell me what to do and I'm on it. Thank you all again.
Where is the link to the Dump?
I wouldn't mind giving this a shot at porting, I have nothing else to do anyways.

Yeah no problem dude, you should edit your orginal post and put the download link in the main post just so any other developer could see it and possibly rename the post to "Droid X Dump" it could be helpful.
yes please let's stop the senseless bickering and let whomever wants to try a port have at it without all this garbage in the way. If you guys want to bicker some more maybe PM or Palringo or something?
@ OP & CrazyEye,
Maybe CrazyEye should start a new thread on this, because you are going to want to edit your OP with new builds and kernels and stuff as you get more done.
Thread cleaned, and moved to general section.
@everyone... Please stop the flaming and please post helpful things, and if anyone violates the rules, please report the post.
Ive tried porting it. I have compiled the ext2 file and booted it, but it is simply starting the white HTC screen then restarting.
If sombody could provide the orgional system.img file I will try from that instead!
Im not sure how to get the original system.img file. If you can instruct me how to get it I will and hopefully that will work. Thank you

If your being paid then maybe offer money for help outside of xda, making money off the help people give for free is immoral.
However, it sounds like a bootloop. Has the client been flashing/rooting?

That matters, why?
@OP: Take battery out, then put in and turn on while holding volume down and let us know if you get a white screen with writing on it.
Look for S-ON or S-OFF. If it says S-OFF then you can fix this really easily.

Where in this thread do you see that? Who said there awesome, and what does "1111ELEVENTY" have to do with anything.
If you're not willing to help people. Then don't spam up threads in which you're not willing to help in.
If the guy is getting paid, then good for him. He didn't come here and say "Client is asking me to fix this for money". You came here enquiring about money.
If you're so desperate for cash, go do something productive with your life.
Sorry? Have I offended you?
Spamming up threads? That must be what I'm doing with my time these days then.
As for doing something productive, you know virtually nothing about me, nor how much money I earn. If I was desperate for cash I'd probably have a "Donate to me" button next to my username and spam up threads.
I apologize if me asking for you assistance made other people argue but I am just a employee in service that repair mobile phones and other electronics. Witch means that I am not paid directly by the client. My kind of work might make me discover other solutions to other problems I would not have any problems sharing them to other people without caring why they need it.
I am sure that everybody in this forum works somewhere and many of you in the mobile business so many of you are being payed to do this.

You sir are pure win.
I don't know what's the point of the whole argument.
A guy posted a question asking for help on how to fix a client's phone. Who knows how many members of the xda are community are working on repair shops, who of course ask for money in return of their services?
If you're not willing to help then do yourself a favor and quit bashing the guy. Don't act as you're the only all-knowing guy who could fix his problem.

There is no need to apologise as you have done nothing wrong, aside from posting in the wrong section which wasn't a crime last time I checked.
I was never my intention to turn this thread into an argument, nor do I think I did. I never bashed the guy. If you read through 99%+ of my posts I do try to help people. Not act like an obnoxious child.
We (the community) would need more information to help you. Do you know how to access the bootloader? Did the client tell you what had happened prior to this problem. Has he/she rooted / modified the handset.
HERE is a similar thread from the info we have so far. The problem was solved. Try following this thread to see if that solves your problem too.

Bionic Webtop [Port Breaking Ground]

edit will be posted later tonight!!!
-Re-post of Original Text-
So I was looking around briefly and noticed Bionic has Maverick as most of you are aware and found the osh.img dump on their thread and thought (well Joe's webtop_mod uses a osh.img file to install...) so decided to try swapping the osh.img files and >,> what do you know it actually doesn't cause the Atrix to flip into a boot loop XD And shows their version of Webtop in the settings menu under Webtop version XO
Basicly looking to port the Bionic's Maverick Webtop to our phones, I understand Sogarth is working on porting the webtop2sd to the Bionic. I wanna start the effort to port the Maverick Webtop to our Atrix's, I mean as is the mount points/addresses shouldn't be too different. I doubt Moto went ahead and reinvented the wheel when it came to a Android/Webtop (Ubuntu) setup so it should come down to finding addresses and changing them accordingly.
Haven't tried anything else other than the install, in class then at work at a new location, so I doubt they'll let me turn off the U-verse demo to try out the Webtop >,>
Command line seems functional full webtop no so much

I Will have it up by tonight but I just got otta class and am on my way at a new location for work, I doubt they'll let me turn off the U-verse Demo to mess with this but I'll be able to compile the mods/patches and other fun stuff from work I promise!
What exactly is this? Isnt the webtop from the Bionic and the Atrix the same? Can this help bring landscape hdmi mirroring to Atrix since the bionic has it?

Think about it more... And no, and don't care for HDMI mirroring. So that said find another thread for it.
Update have the command line down and functional, working on modding the .apk files to launch the right mount points but the first part of seeing if its even usable is confirmed, gonna work on the .apk files while at work to see what I can get done with it might need some help being I hate java and apk modding personally its complicated to me but I'll try my hand at it, basically use the bionic .apk files and set them up to run on the Atrix so that way you wouldn't have to find all the addresses the apk/script calls on within Webtop.

Okay here's a "overly smart answer" Webtop has nothing to do with HDMI mirroring they are two completely different functions that happen to use the HDMI cable. Your post is equal to assuming the entertainment center is the same as Webtop >,>
Sorry but I too think that answer was rude...
Still you haven't accomplished anything substantial or at least offered any proof of your accomplishment and you are already all over your head... *sigh*
Chill dude...
Updated OP with pics of my current setup and I ask if your not constructive, just know I rather tell you to go fly a kite than to sit here waiting only 12 hrs to see results.
This is in the general section because there is very little done on this at the moment from my end I'm not sure what others are working on but I have yet to see a Maverick port from the Bionic underway, its no where near perfect and its to prove that flashing the Webtop from another working Moto/Webtop isn't a bad way to start than to sit around and asking for a upgraded native Ubuntu or using one of the image mods on a current native one.
The Docks do not work Lapdock/ or HD dock for this method though command line bashing into Webtop dose work and seems rather stable, no weirdness on my test Atrix though I have yet to move this to my main Atrix until I get a gui set up for it that will off set the lack of Webtop. Current stand point checking the class.dex files of the dock/portal .apk files for some sort of header id keys to change it from Bionic > Atrix. Not uploading the zip file I used to flash mine being that I believe a flash able zip should contain the correct dock/portal apk files for any release for now if you wanna try this create a backup of your current osh.img via
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13 of=/sdcard/Originalosh.img

I stumbled accross this thread by accident. But i have to add my 2 cent to that comment. Right understand this. XDA is a development community, the devs are not here to educate noobs, maybe some come accross abit rude sometimes. But maybe it's because they have the same idiots asking the same stupid questions every single day. People that cannot even be arsed searching google before they ask these stupid questions. And you wonder why developers get annoyed when all there trying to do is develop something for the whole community, but there threads get bogged down with idiots?? How are they ment to share ideas with other devs when before they know it there thread had 100 pages of noob questions?

True, but...
I doubt that will apply in this case.
Why?
1. The OP is not a known developer
2. This post is not on the Development section
3. He went through leaps and bounds to explain the differences between webtop and hdmi mirroring instead of just answering the n00b question
In the end, being just a bit polite doesn't hurt anyone.
I suggest the OP to post his progress in the Dev section, where its "ok" to be rude.

It doesn't matter if he is a "known developer" or not, can you do the types of stuff he's talking about?
If you don't have any clue what the op is posting about you shouldn't be posting in the thread to begin with. If you don't know that there is a search button or how to use it you shouldn't be posting on xda at all. This does not apply to just this thread but all of xda.
Forgive my rudeness but some people just don't belong on xda and need to go to the motorolla forums where they belong. As Andro said before xda (not just the development section) is for development and those with that mind set.
You want people to be nice, don't post here with questions that could be answered via an xda or google search simple as that.

Now who's the rude one, sheesh? I never called you a noob, I asked you a question and you responded which to that I say thanks. My post was in general to xda, not directed toward you and I'm sorry if it seemed that way. I'm sure everyone on the xda forums appreciates all the roms that you've released and the help that you have provided keeping threads on topic from your 900+ posts.
I'm tired of going to a thread seeing that there is are new posts only to discover that its just another person requesting information that they could have easily found if they had used the search (or hell even searched google) and then the several posts afterwords bashing that person to oblivion or telling them the answer which throws the thread off topic and continues for several more pages worth of posts.
I'm pretty interested in this topic and I don't want this thread cluttered with questions that could be answered through simple searching as most of the other threads I monitor have been. Now could we please keep this on topic?
@crossix
Okay, apologies accepted... and I'm sorry for being rude too.. Let's keep this thread on topic then...
Cheers!
