I was wondering in Gingerbread 2.3.2, is it possible to change the lock screen wallpaper to make it different to your background wallpaper? Is there any way of doing it with out using a third party app?
Can anybody help with this?
TBH i somehow turned the lockscreen off and now i can't trun it back on.. So i don't have a lock screen anymore.
And for your problem there is a widget that does that i think but it ain't free. it's called widget locker or something like this.

Is it possible to just change the lockscreen background but leave the rest of the lockscreen the same?
I know that there are several applications which will provide an alternate lockscreen but I would much rather keep the original if possible.

I'd like to know this too. Even my HTC Tattoo could have separate wallpaper and lockscreen backgrounds. Why not on the desire?

At a guess it's something to do with the live wallpapers.
search the market for WidgetLocker.

lockbot is a good alternative, you get several styles of lock screen and all are customizable
Just installed Lockbot Free to check it out, not very impressed to be honest, the original lock screen appears for a couple of seconds before the Lockbot one which ruins the whole appearence.
Have I done something wrong or is this just how it is?

OK, bought & installed WidgetLocker which seems much better. There is still a delay if you lock the phone & then turn the screen back on straight away where it shows the original lock screen but it is negligable. I haven't experimented with all the options yet but it seems pretty comprehensive.

In what way do you want to change the lock screen sliders? Sorry, your question is just kinda open in terms of interpretation. If you could suggest what you would like to do, or what you are looking for, and maybe myself or anyone else that reads this thread can provide you some more help!

P.S. not sure if it is what you are looking for at all, but check out the application called widget-locker on the Market. This allows customization with image edits, and allows you to customize your entire lock screen as well.
Sorry about the open ended question, I meant just the sliders without using Widget Locker, so lets say I wanted to make the unlock a pacman and the silent/vibrate a ghost. Is it possible to change the icons without Widget Locker?

Use NinjaMorph to get into your framework-res.apk under system/framework. Then go to res/drawable-hdpi and it should be near the very bottom of the pics under zz_moto_jog_tab... or you could only change the centers of the sliders to pacman and a ghost, that would be ic_jog_dial_...
Is there any way to revert to the way the nexus 7 originally was? I think the homescreen rotation was locked, as well as the lock screen. Nova can get the homescreen to stop rotating but the lockscreen still does.
I basically don't want any rotating outside of apps. It's too laggy and ugly.
does anyone know of a way to achieve this?

Im using the lockscreen policy app currently as I dont want instant access to my camera or other widgets, however I do want to use the dashclock widget and nothing else ?
is there any way to limit my phone to just this widget other than the default lockscreen widget when using the lock screen policy app ?
Hi some time ago I was using the widgetlocker app and I loved one of the experimental features that disabled the softkeys, the google now and the notifications bar so pretty much the only way to unlocking the phone was through the slider, so if I made the slider icon invisible, i'd have a simple secure lock screen which only I could unlock. Anyways widget locker doesn't have this option anymore plus I dont like how the music widget doesnt appear and dissapear when you have music playing like in the stock lockscreen. So I would appreciate if someone had an Idea on how to make my lockscreen like this again, btw im rooted. THANKS EVERYONE!!
