this is the first time I've owned a phone running android so I'm new to this stuff. I followed the sticky in the Dev forum for rooting and everything was fine at first but as soon as super one click said it was running "rage against the cage" it started again and now it's stuck in a loop. Anyone know what to do?
Repair your phone and root again.
tried that but the same thing happened again
edit: just checked my firmware version and its 2.1, could this be why its not working? I just assumed it would come with 1.6

Ok on a non rooted T-Mobile N1
followed instructions
flashed froyo from SD card, phone boots
after a while the animated N1 logo froze
gave it some time
pulled battery, nothing was happening ( I know probably my first error)
reflashed the update, crashed again
went back into recovery, did a factory reset, never went past static N1 logo
tried flashing update again, so far still stuck on the static logo
What am I doing wrong here????
At the bare minimum what can I do to go back to original?
Realized another thing, had the USB cord connected when it won't get past the static log
Re flashed the update without the cord connected, it is now again going through the animated boot up
Hope this does it
*edit* Nope, animated boot up stopped again, going to let it go for a while
Still can't get this phone to boot
Anyone have a link to flash back to 2.1 update1????
have you tried another image like Cyanogen 5.0.6 or sometihing else ?
I'm not rooted
Trying to do this without rooting for now, will consider rooting if I can't somehow flash back to stock Update1
At this point what I think I'm going to do is reflash to 2.1
Does anyone have a link to 2.1 for download?
Or what would be the best way to go back to 2.1 on a non rooted phone?
After flashing Paul's froyo update, mine was stuck at the animated X logo for about 5-7 minutes for the first time, so maybe you also should try waiting at that animation.

Anyone have a link??????
So ADB was working (I thought?) and ADB recognizes my phone when I just plug it in, but when I go to do the steps for rooting, it no longer recognizes it.
I got it to say offline ONCE after the loop, but the on the unplug re-plug, it went away. I'm bummed...
cmon now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=703429
You must have misread my post. I've looked thoroughly through that post, actually.
What I am needing help with is after that loop, going from offline in ADB to recovery...
thanks!
Can A Mod PLease Lock this thread, thee is Multi Post in Multi threads Reading this!
The Answer you are Looking for.... UN-PLug the the USB wait 5 second if that and plug it back into the Phone..
I did that, on several different occasions, but alright, will try again. Thanks.

ITs not recognizing your phone when in recovery thought correct? if so thats the same thing discussed there. If it did recognize it as offline in recovery then do as eugene said.

it needs to stick to offline, not just say it onec or twice. itll say offline many times not just once then disappear. Once it does it and sticks, it doesnt turn off, you dont need to rush and hit ctrl c
I'm having a issue that's somewhat related. I have a tmo mts3g and I had it rooted with no issues following the instructions provided in eugene's previous posts on the matter. Tmobile recently dropped a OTA update for 2.1 and it relocked my phone. Now that I'm trying to reroot it I'm having issues getting the phone to be adb online in recovery mode. I do adb reboot recovery and when it starts I have the loop going and I have no problem getting it to say "device offline" but when I unplug the device (no matter how long I wait) and plug it back in it still remains in "offline" status under adb devices. I've heard about driver issues and all kinds of other madness but I'm using the same computer that I used when I rooted it previously. My question is; is this something tmobile might have fixed in their ota update and am I just wasting my time continuing to try this method? If not i'm more than happy to continue to try but not if it's with no point.
Thing is you did the OTA update, so instead of following the old guide, you follow the one in the rom bible in the development section. Hope that helps.

Yeah, I found my way there eventually. I got it all straightened out and currently on Eugene's MyFroyo6 with no complaints. Thanks
First off let me analogize for the length of this lol
Recently I SDF 3 of my families Droid X (all had OTA 2.2 on them), we switched to Rubix 1.6 and I wanted to follow what was posted from him to help with battery issues (http://www.sephtin.com/?p=172). Well I started on my finance phone I started with doing a SDF and the phone encountered a boot loop at the red eye animation. I fixed that and went on to rooting the phone then I had issues with getting the phone to go into ADB shell with # prompt (I would rather just root doing it the old fashion way with typing lol). The computer is a Windows XP machine so I decided it could be some form of an issue with the computer. The computer has SDK along with the latest Moto Connect 4.7.1. I can access everything from the phone fine. I did not install the charging drivers as it never asked for them. Anyways moved to a Windows 7 machine and decided to download all the drivers and SDK fresh so did it and installed and restarted both the computer and phone. Anyways long story short did my mom's phone and it went through SDF fine no issues and then when starting to root I again had issues getting the phone into ADB shell with # prompt. I started over on the root commands and it went fine that time. Move to mine and well I encountered red eye boot loop and the ADB issues. So my big time question is what is going on with the SDF? Am I missing some form of a driver? Is the red eye loop something that happens frequently? I have read on a different forum about an ADB driver but I have never needed it for my Captivate or anything. Also can anyone give any advice as to what would cause these SDF issues or the issues with ADB???? I have delt with ADB and Odin3 with my captivate a lot and never had any issues like this. But I know this phone's boot loader is a different so you have to do something differently. THANK YOU EVERYONE for any help you can give me with this. All the phones now have Rubix 1.6 on them but I would love to know what would cause issues like this for future reference THANK YOU
after sbf i was stuck at the red eye too. boot back into stock recovery and factory reset. it'll get you back in business.

Thank you man, that is what I did both times. I am just wanting to know mainly if there is a reason this happens something I am doing wrong, an incorrect driver anything lol.... My friend did his phone today and had the same thing happen so i dunno it seems kind of common for some reason.
is there any htc EVO 4g ROMS out there on internet
Maybe look in the evo forum?

My full apologies in advance if there has been a similar thread, I've honestly been looking for the past couple of hours. If there is one and I've just missed it, feel free to open-fire on me.
I have an AT&T Atrix running on 2.3.4 Gingerbread; rooted and unlocked bootloader with the Alien 4 ROM and the Alien 4 Theme. I'm really new to rooting and have only been rooted for about a week now. Today though, I was going to trade my Atrix for an HTC Inspire. I used to have one, switched to the Atrix, and I've come to the conclusion that I prefer the Inspire. While wiping my personal info off of my phone, I did something I clearly shouldn't have though, and everything went downhill from there. Not really thinking, I had already wiped my SD card (which had the Alien ROM), and I still needed to clear off the phone itself, so I figured it'd be okay to just go to the Settings and wipe my phone through the Privacy option. When it booted back up I saw that almost all apps (including necessary ones like Phone and Browser, among others) were gone. I didn't think it'd be a problem and I could just download them again through the Market, but my Settings app was also gone, so I couldn't configure a Wifi connection. I couldn't configure anything. My SIM card didn't work either, nor did the SIM of the person I had met to trade for an Inspire.
When I got home, I went through the different options in Android Recovery on my phone... Still nothing. So I fired up RSDLite on the Windows 7 comp in the computer room, downloaded the 1.5.2 Atrix SBF from here to try and flash it back to the stock Atrix ROM, and clicked Start. My phone rebooted once or twice and it looked fine, but then RSD said that the flash had failed. Now whenever I try to turn my phone on, it stays at the big M logo with "Dual Core Technology" underneath (it doesn't even change to the pulsing M). I haven't been able to boot it up since... Sorry for the novel, but it'd be really greatly appreciated if someone could help me out here. Thanks for your time.

That definetly doesn't sound like a hard brick. Use romracers recovery and try to flash a fruitcake http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1163009 which are much safer then sbfs.
By the way theres no need to apologize when posting in the "correct" forum .General or QandA is where this thread belongs. if this were development though then you'd be in a world of ****! LOL
if you are on big M (without any "failed to boot" ) you're soft bricked,
try to power on button+ volume down button...
if says "fastboot" then just volume up,
download the .img files in the fruitcakes section and follow the fastboot mode instructions...
you'll get back your phone.
read carefully the instruction where to put the files in your windows 7 user directory etc etc, 90% of the problem is because people don't understand where to place executables and run them
hope it helps
Thank you guys so much!! The solution was actually even simpler than what you both suggested; all I had to do was flash to 2.3.4 with moto-fastboot. I had never used fastboot before, so it took me forever to figure it out, but I finally got it and my Atrix is back to the way it came. Thanks again, you two. Cheers!

Hey guys so I am facing weird problems. I have searched through the forums either I cant find anything or I am too scared to do any more experiments I really dont want to loose my Razr M XT 907.
Problems
Laggy performance at times
Camera gets stuck when I take pictures at times then I have to restart.
when I reboot my phone it shows AP Fast boot screen, then I have to access boot menu and select the second last option (Console something). It always shows Null:Null and when I change it back the phone reboots normally
Phone hangs sometimes and then responds with everthing I have clicked all at once.
The screen on off button responds a second late
I think you guys can help me better if I tell you what I did to this phone exactly since I got this phone.
What I did
I initially bought this phone with defaul OS 4.0.1 in Pakistan.
I then installed a Verizon system update of 250 MB that got my phone stuck on a boot loop (and made me cry almost)
I restored my phone to the settings it came in using this procedure
http://www.andromods.com/tips-trick/how-to-restore-unroot-droid-razr-m-xt907-stock-original-firmware.html
The phone worked fine for 2 days but then I got that update prompt again and it got annoying so I though maybe If i upgrade it to JB using the same RSD Lite method but a different ROM that may solve it.
So I applied the above Procedure using this ROM
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250155
The method showed as Passed on RSD Lite but the phone got stuck on bootloop again so I paniced and tried restoring my phone abck to ICS using the method mention in the first link provided.
Then the phone got stuck on AP Boot Menu
Then I used DROID_RAZR_M_Utility_1.20 and used both methods 1 and two but it didnt work
Then out of the blue I went to the boot menu and I saw an option Switch Console (Null:null) I pressed up key on and null null changed to default:tty something it and the phone booted up just fine back to ICS
Now everytime I power off the phone it goes to AP Boot menu showing FASTBOOT REASON: Sticky bit factory_fastboot and I have to do the above to restart the phone.
What I need
Please help me restore my phone I dont want to brick it, I am a simple user I will need step by step guide
Anyone ?
Bump
Bump still looking for a solution
I have CM10 on mine and the camera is completely broken
Enter fastboot oem fb_mode_clear and problem gone.

You can, but I'm afraid you won't. You'll rather achieve the opposite by bringing obsoleted threads back to the top.
