Hi All,
Sorry if this is already on the forum but I cant seem to find a method that works right.. I stuck my phone in my girlfriends handbag whilst on holiday and on the beach, sand got into her bag and scratched the hell out of it, including the touch-screen. I have bought Displex but even that does not work well on the outside rim let alone the touch screen.
Is there any possilble way to remove these scratches??
Anyone got any suggestions..
Thank you

Lol very good, I could go down that route, unfortunatley no I did not have the protector on ... If I did apply the screen protector.. would it fade out the scratches if not the major ones, perhaps the minor ones.
Ill try that

Thanks for the Message, might sound silly to you but how much are we roughly talking for a screen and perhaps the casing as the front has a number of scratches too.
I have not had time to whizz through this website as mostly I check it through work so apologies if there is a thread on this already.

It can help after wards sometimes I had TYTN2 before with a similar problem I applied the protector after it was scratched and I was pretty happy with the results I could only see scratches when I really looked for them in light so its worth a shot before replacing anything cheaper too
Still think my first idea is better
Fact of life these things get damaged sooner or later. I would just accept the fact that it's damaged as long as it works. You will probably move onto the next device in a few months!
Hey everyone. I read a couple forums and saw a few people wanted to know if the phone was scratch resistant. So, I did a test. Enjoy

I think more phones are going towards the scratch proof screens, the Cliq might have not had it, but I believe the motorola Droid does. I think eventually most devices will have scratch proof screens.

i actually just ordered a full body armor from bestskinsever because i like the feel of it, and in case the phone is dropped. It would still be recommended to get a screen protector/invisible skin in case if it's dropped or anything like that

Absolutely. I had an iPhone 3gs that I sold to get my Nexus One, it had a hairline scratch not from my pockets with keys and change, but from it being dropped one time. =)
man i am impress and gracious you actually made this video thanks
my friend dropped his iphone on concrete and it put a big scratch on the screen. A screen protector helps
So we have Gorilla glass?
I own my HD2 for 3 days now.
I have one simple question and I hope that more users experience this.
If I slide my finger to the right of the screen, to the end, I feel the side of the HD2. If I slide my finger to the left, the display goes over in the rest of the HD2.
At the bottom of the screen, it's the other way around. There I can feel a little edge on the left side.
Other users experience this?
did you drop it? by the looks of the pictures I've seen where they take apart a HD2, the screen is held in place by the rubber sides..
it's normal...99% of the hd2 was not been totally flushed with sides which is a rubber..
yes i have it too.
Well, in that case, mines' exceptionally well built. It's totally flushed with the glass. Sorry to put that out. I just love mines!

*my english is not that good haha*
So it's normal that you feel the rubber on one side ? Whilst de other side is straight with the glass itself?

Same here. Maybe 1/2 to 1/4 of a mm below the rubber, but perfectly straight all the way round.

No, no tilted screen, its exactly the same all the way around, totally flush with the rubber.
Mine has this flaw, but it this so minor that I had never noticed it. I suggest get over it, it's not a big deal.

Damn keys...left the phone in the same pocket....now i have a huge mark in the middle of the screen.
Any ideas where can I buy a new screen to change it
thx to all
That sucks. I thought the screen was suppose to be scratch proof.
Someone did mention cnn.cn for nexus one parts.
http://cnn.cn/shop/google-nexus-digitizer-p-8252.html
That should be what you're looking for.
Cool...nice to know that it can be replaced. I've got a scratch also...but it's in the black part top left corner...so doesn't interfere.
so i guess that scratchtest vid by the eyelash dude was just BS? i had a feeling it was too good to be true.

As soon as I got my phone I tried scratching it with knives and keys but yeah came out with the same outcome as eyelash man. However a few days ago I noticed a scratch in the lower corner of my screen don't know how I managed to scratch it.. Must have been my wolverine claws

That's just the digitizer or the glass that's exposed. There is no possible way you scratched the physical LCD.

jackie from seinfield?
it's scratch-proof but it doesn't mean it's scratch resistant.
I once scratched a glass phone screen using the slightly exposed chip on a credit card. If it's loose in your pocket with the phone then be careful, as if it doesn't scratch the screen it works like a cheese knife and removes the rubbery coating.
Probably not such an issue for USA users; last time I was over there you didn't have a chip-n-pin system.

I dont mean under the protector! It is under the glass screen.
And I removed the stock screen protector to see if it was there, but it is under the screen.
I know I did! Within the first week too! Those pisses me off ):

Is this fairly easy to do? Is there a tutorial anywhere?
Although I do not have dust, I have some sort of strange smudge in the shape of a ring near the ear piece, its strange.
Any ideas?
