Hello.
I have an HTC Tattoo with nFinityGB v0.6 - Gingerbread 2.3.2 ROM by Arco ( great job xD ). Btw my University uses an internet Wifi connection, eduroam should be, and I really can't connect to it. I tried lots of tutorial, howtos, WifiHelper and other but nothing. Could someone help me?
These are the WiFi spec taken from an Ubuntu laptop:
WPA-Enterprise
TKIP
PEAP
MSCHAPv2
on my university tip I found that the "TERENASSLCA.cer" and "UTN_USERFirst_Harware.cer" are needed to use the net.
Thanks anyway.

WIll be there a kitchen for WM6? Because there are many things, which I don't need, and can not uninstall lightly (like x-button and office).
And I extremely need WPA2-PSK connection, for my university, is it possible (besides of Odyssey) to manage WPA2 accounts somehow?
Great thanks to Helmi_c!!!

for WPA2 we need new wifi driver that supports it, and noone develop for this hardware
But wpa2 should be backwards compatible with wpa. My network is wpa2 and my BA connects fine.
I agree with LGSilva, but some routers have WPA/WP2 ou just WPA2
Still...
... does not help me, because it is not my WiFi network, but that of my university! (Will try odyssey client)
... waiting for kitchen
Good day everyone,
I have a vodafone magic which I am trying to get connected to my college wpa enterprise connection. My university provides a configuration file found at http://helpline.concordia.ca/network/wireless/ipod-iphone.shtml which installs on iphones allowing connection to the schools wifi. I wanted to know if the file could be modified to work on android so that I would be able to access the wifi, or maybe there is a app that allows connection to wpa enterprise?
any input would be greatly appreciated.
PHILL
You need to install wifi helper from android market and your magic needs to be rooted.
With that it's fairly easy to set up WPA enterprise by entering all the settings then disabling/reenabling wifi.

thanks for the quick response, my magic is rooted and running the ion rom, this is great i will get the app and try this soon.
did this method work for you on the concordia wifi network? I am having trouble connecting!

VPN is not yer supported. It will be supported in firmware 1.6 (Donut). However, if your university is a part of the EDUROAM, and there are EDUROAM hotspots in your uni, then it should be pretty easy to connect. Thats what I do. Ask your IT people.
If you are rooted, this guide for the G1 may help. Of course, it may not either!

First of all, sorry if my english is not good. I had been searching on the web for a method to connect my xperia x8 to a ad hoc wifi (in my case is from my laptop). There are many ways but none worked for me so I decided to upgrade the firmware to the MiniCM6 1.0.1 - with miniCM theme (Froyo/Cyanogenmod 6.1.3) and now it can detect al the ad hoc wifi nearby. I did not have to change any file just the upgrade. It is very stable and has a nice look. Take a look at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=964223
You have to configure the ip static on the xperia (and also the net mask, dns1, dns2, gateway). To configure the ad hoc wifi on laptop/PC with windows xp go to:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCBC5Mr70rQ
just change the Network Authentication to Open and Data Encryption to disable. No one will connect to your wifi if don't have the coorect static ip
Maybe this post is not usefull but I think there are many people in the same situation I was and this could help them.
Bye
Hello, I tried some ROM for my xperia x8 and none of them work for wifi connections using 802.1x TTLS PAP.
Can anyone tell me that ROM work?
Thanks
My experience from connecting to my university's (Royal Institute of Technology - KTH) eduroam is only with the roms Racht's Floyo and doixanh's GingerDX. Floyo can connect and GingerDX can't. Although I am not sure my university uses the same connection type for eduroam as the one you asked about; my university describes the connection type as PEAP with subtype PEAPv0/MSCHAPv2.
Here is a solution for your problem i think. it makes eduroam work on the most phones (including mine):

Thanks for solution. I'll try it tommorow and give you report.
It works! I'll make a CWM script with this!
