[Q] How to switch from Verizon to Cellular South - Fascinate General

Searched this forum and couldn't find a difinitive answer.
Is there a way to switch my Verizon phone so that it will work on Cellular South?
I know the MSL code and am familiar with the advanced menus I just don't know what to do.
Thanks.

If it's a cdma network would imagine it'd be easy. I use this fascinate on cricket. Trick is, will they let you?

You could probably flash a showcase rom and radio and be all setup, hehe.

See if they'll add your ESN to their database. If so, that's about all you have to do.

You will need to figure out if they will accept flashed phones. If they do, you will need to locate the prl they use, download qpst build 323 and qpst 215 (for ppp settings) and alot of patience. Also, you will have to figure out their ppp "um" and "an" password. If they allow for flashed phones should be no problem.
Edit: I see they carry the fascinate...if that's the case, you can flash their correct prl and call them from the phone. They will ask for your info and give it to them. Once you hang up, they should give you a code for an ota programming...if that doesn't work, then you'll have to do it the other way.

Getting rid of Sprint but keeping phone.

Hi,
I have run the Vogue_unlocker_MFG_2.31.exe and the phone seems to have survived (it's a MP6900SP). Now, I want to get rid of the Sprint bias. The phone keeps asking me for an Unlock Code (authentication code) when using ##2539#. I need this and the PRL for Viva in order to use the phone here, in the Dominican Republic.
I was thinking, however, since I don't really need any of the Sprint rubbish that is included in their ROM, does anyone have a cleaner ROM WM 6.1 with GPS that will sort of bypass the authentication code problem?
I hope my rambling makes sense to someone. Thanks in advance for your help.
WMT
Added: Almost there. The issue is addressed at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361144. But I still need the Viva ROM for the Vogue (MP6900SP). I can't seem to find it on the forum, although there are a lot of references to it. Help, please.
Could you just set it up with the code using the Sprint ROM, then flash to a custom ROM that can't use the phone codes?
Not quite sure what you mean. I have the latest version of the Sprint ROM on it now. I have written to Sprint to get the codes, but I hear they can be quite surly about giving them out.

Alltel Treo Pro on Page Plus

A friend on mine has an Alltel Palm Treo Pro that she would like to activate on Page Plus. Page Plus generally allows most CDMA phones that are Verizon compatible. I found instructions on how to do this on HowardForums, but the instructions require CDMA workshop which is really expensive.
Will any of the custom ROMs listed here accomplish something similar? I think she would be willing to install a custom ROM if it would allow her to activate on Page Plus.
Is there any (legal) way to make the edits that you would make with CDMA workshop without CDMA workshop? Some other software perhaps?
Am I missing anything? Any other ideas?
Thanks in advance for any help.

That was my post over at Ho-Fo as well as at CDMAGurus.com. I don't think anyone every Hard SPLed this thing so I don't think there are any custom roms available for this phone. I could be wrong and if I am, someone please correct me.
While I don't have any links or instructions, this can be accomplished via QXDM. It is far more powerful than CDMA Workshop and can therefore be a little confusing to use, but some googling should yield some results as far as downloads and instructions are concerned. Alternatively, you can do a google search for CDMA Workshop 2.7. There is a cracked version out there.

HTC Hero and Metro PCS Setup

Hi,
I was a steady user of Windows Mobile phones. Setup and flashing ROMS for YEARS I lived on XDA Forums!. NOW I'm on Metro PCS and I have a HTC Hero and I'm sick and tired of running this to someone and having it fixed and them Charge me. I want to know or be pointed to the information that I can use to do this. DO NOT point me to a website or person that will charge me to do it. I WANT TO DO THIS MYSELF!
It seems nobody will tell you anything! Someone has to know what it takes or point me in the right direction so I can learn this. I know how to root it and Flash the ROM that is easy! What I want to know is:
How do you setup the phones settings to work with Metro PCS? What is required to program it for Metro PCS? Is it a file? software? What I'm asking is if I have a Hero flashed with say Damagecontrol v1.0 what are the steps at that Point to set it up on Metro PCS from there?
And YES I've search Google and every site with every combination or keywords for some kind of information to do this. Even the XDA site and I get Nothing.
Thanks,
Rick
Has it already been flashed to metro? Ever if not send me a pm. I don't charge I don't guarantee results but i've got a couple tricks up my sleave that i think will work. If it works then we will post a how-to so everyone can do this for free as well.
I've been desperately awaiting this post for about 4 months. I see hero's on CL all the time selling as "fully flashed" gps/mms/market/etc. How in the hell is this achieved, i had internet for 2 months, then it no longer worked one day. PLEASE SOMEONE POST TUTORIAL!?!?
I just want to know how to do my phone. I want to know how to do it from scratch. I have a HTC Hero NOT flashed to Metro. I know I need Damagecontrol v1.0, BUT how do you set it up for Metro.
I have another HTC Hero flashed and it needs to be reflashed (Acts weird now) , BUT I'm not going to pay someone to do it again. If they can do... So can I. I just need to find out how too.
I also want to know If I can only use Damagecontrol v1.0 / 2.1. Or can I use something higher than 2.1 on the Hero flashed to Metro?
I'm just asking for help or even point me to a site with the step by step process. All these people do this on CL so I know it's out there.
I got a pretty good idea on how to do this but I need some testers
I did it, fully flashed, search the internet, you'll find what you're looking for.

I've had mine on CM 6 with 2.2 rocking! up until they changed the metropcs servers which all I lost was net access.
I paid $60-70 bucks to have it done at first and they used the Damaged Rom and honestly it was hit or miss. Yeah man you can dam sure use lots of other Rom's.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
I wondering if you could help me out I have my Hero Flashed to Metro Pcs but lost my internet, MMS abilities along with a few other things. I'm trying to figure out how to fix this, I have a number current with Metro but I was wondering If by fixing this will I have to get a new number as well?

I don't think you should have to get a new number or anything like that.
I'm not completely certain, but I think your problem lies in one of the following settings:
HDR AN AUTH User ID/Password
PPP User ID/Password
M.IP NAI Profile
MMS Server URL
Dial ##778# and ##3282# to access those(you will need your MSL/SPC code to change any settings). I think QPST Service Programming can also alter these settings if you're having trouble with ##778#. Configure them to match your service provider. Hopefully this will point you in the right direction.
I need to do this as well. Anyone have a step by step.
dude stop bumping threads no one is going to help u if u keep doing that take a hint already.

My hero is flashed to metro and I only have working talk, sms, wi-fi, n market but no data n mms. I have CM7, clockworkmod(lastest), rooted, gapps, u2nl, n so on but for for sum reason can't mod with QPST or EPST so I flashed back to 2.1 stock rom it works there. I did everything possible like followed guides for different settings that promised to get metros mms working but all I did is f&*) up my internet. Hopefully I not talking to a wall because I need those settings above HDR and so forth to get data n mms working. Thanks.

That's what that code is made for to reset data as in erase data profile. If you want to do it manually ##3282# and you can edit that way.
No offense but your customers are at fault for trying Sprint dialer codes when they should have read (it has been discussed here before) that it will get stuck on the activating/provisioning screen when no longer on the Sprint network. They should have read as I'm assuming they found that dauler code with a google search .it shouldn't be on you.

Well why don't you research before posting in a forum. Have you read forum rules. If not you need to do the work yourself before asking others. The answer to your question is easily found with a Google search.

S920L unlocking help

Hello, like several people on this forum, i got the Galaxy Grand Prime S920L variant (Straight Talk/Tracfone).
As you know, only the stock kernel and stock recovery have been posted so far.
I'm willing to donate a little to someone able to provide the files & steps to unlock this device so that it accepts Sim from other companies. So if anyone can help or point me towards the right direction it will be greatly appreciated. :highfive:
Just a thought....If your on Straight Talk, call the toll free number (you will NOT have to talk to any real person doing this) transfer your SIM card to the T-Mobile or AT&T card variant and then you should have an Unlocked SM-S920L. Let me know if this helps.
That won't work.
Thanks for the suggestion fellas. I need proper unlocking though because i need to be able to use a mexican company sim (such as Telcel or Movistar). So if any developer out there is reading, im still willing to donate a little to anyone who can help me unlock this phone. Cheers!
you cant simply just unlock the sim card with a nsap of your fingers, and honestly, straight talkj is pretty strict about it... you ll have to look at the unlocking policy located on the bottom of their website..
must have phone on service for 12 months or more
must not been filed as lost or stolen
etc
etc
etc
whatever it says...
I know we cant just unlock with a finger snap, that's why we are here on XDADevelopers. We also know about their terms & conditions, but again, thats why im requesting the useful help of of XDADevelopers, thank you.
i doubt there would be a way to bypass the carriers systems to unlock the sim card..... it think you would have to hack their databases and allow an unlock on your #
ACTUALLY, there is a way to unlock the device that doesn't go anywhere near hacking a corporate database and is truly closer to a finger snap. It requires the use of dialer codes, service program menu editing and the MSL/SPC code. Unfortunately, I cannot recall the specific steps, which is why I'm searching this forum today. I hope the writer of this post has found a solution and I apologize profusely for not being able to relay more information. I just had to stop the influx of ignorance in this thread. FYI folks: people come here for answers and information, not for your erroneous assumptions. K?
