Is there any way that someone could make it so that your signal strength is displayed as a percentage instead of just bars?
I thought that this would be more specific and easier to understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated
I believe that you *could* because its only a graphic and icons can be changed easily but theres only five icons... Four for strength and one that would be dead completely.. So the petcentages would be very widespread.. Think 25% increments.. Best to just keep the bars

Mobile signal widget will give you a dbm or asm number for signal strength.

Not sure what has been up lately, but my M has been struggling to maintain a wifi signal here at home. My old Droid Pro has full signal as does my Kindle Fire, but for the last week or 2 my M has been struggling to get the wifi signal and when it does, it's not full bars. About 1-2 bars when all my other devices have full wifi bars. Even when I am 3 feet from the modem (fios) . I've restarted the phone a couple times, but same issue. Where am I going wrong here?

Check your settings. Maybe if you choose the specific frequency for FiOS and toggle the weak connection command; that may help. Do you have any smart actions or battery saver that may be trying to optimize your WiFi radio for battery management?

Great suggestions! I did more research today and did specify which channel to broadcast on for the modem.. It may have helped a bit. As for smart actions, I do indeed have those running but only for battery level below 15 percent or specific overnight hours. I will look more into the router settings and report back my findings. Thanks for the help!

Hi,
I would like to ask if it is normal to have a maximum of 4 signal bars in S4? I'm already using the optimized modem in my country but still receiving 4 signal bars max in return.
I don't think it is a coverage problem though since I already tried my SIM on my old S2 and it is showing 5 signal bars without any problem.
As of now, the maximum Signal Strength I can get is -77dBm 18a asu (2G).
Any help on this? Should I consider on deviating my 'optimized' country modem and flash a different one?
Thanks!

4 bars is the maximum SHOWN on the Galaxy S4 -77dBm is high!!! I currently have three bars at -98dBm! Basically the Scale is 0 to 4 bars.
I would leave the modem as it is especially as it is supposedly optimized for your country. Don't fix something that isn't broken!
I hope this helps,
4 bars is maximum? Why is that?

how did you optimize the modem ? i seem to having a lot of issues with "Not Registered on Network" and I must restart phone in order to make calls etc . Stock 4.3 android
No I mean I'm already using the optimized modem for my country.
My only worry is I'm still getting 4 bars signal max instead of 5.

I don't know what your on about, almost every phone I've ever had has only ever had the display show a maximum of 4 bars, except a small % that had 5 rare I'm pretty sure.
In my radio world S 5 is actually more correct.
If you want more bars go get network signal info from the store.

You are using Wanamlite Rom, right? There's an option in the Wanam Xposed app that controls the number of bars shown. The default in wanamlite is 5 (up to 6), but the signal isn't adjusted to that number of bars unless you tick the 'Adjust signal levels' option.
Thanks problem solved ..it was due to Wanam ...
Here lately I've noticed a few times when my signal appears to be non-existent (see pic). However, I know I'm in an area with a strong signal. So, I checked my signal strength in the 'about phone' section and it was very strong & speed tests show good throughput. Anyone else have this happen? Any suggestions?

Do you happen to use any XPosed Modules? I use Wanam Xposed and it can edit the amount of signal bars etc...wondering if maybe it's something like that

I do used Xposed Installer with Wanam Xposed, but the signal bar adjustment wasn't used. I checked it, rebooted, unchecked it and rebooted again. I'll see if that does anything. Thanks for the suggestion!
OK I have been having signal issues in my house never an issue before always had -70 db around there which would be 4 to all bars. Now I get -100 to -112 with only 2 bars? My signal fluctuates so much going from bad to worse I change from global to lte cdma fixes it for 1 minute. I tried airplane mode switching roms. I've tried signal refresh app that helps find closer towers. My data speeds are bad because of it also. I've lived here for 2 years no issues now I do? Do I need new modems I run nc4 always was the best. If they update towers would that effect me? I'm suppose to have xlte I've checked I'm on band 4 but regular speeds 40mbs I get 1mbs now. What do I do?

Title speaks for itself, anyone know why cell Standby is taking up so much battery? Still getting about 3.5 hrs screen time but this is eating my battery. Any help?

Looks like it's searching for a good signal a lot of the time. You have almost 1/4 of your time on battery without cell signal. That drains batteries.
Do I have a defective unit? I'm on Sprint, I never had this issue on my G3. I always have signal when I'm actually on it, so idk, does it go in and out of signal that much while I'm off the device?

Here's another screen. I'm getting a feeling the bar for Cellular network signal isn't supposed to be orange and red most of the time.
