I want to buy i8000 Bell version from Ebay and unlock code from FastGSM.
But I need to know something:
Bell has different 3G Band (UMTS 850/1900) than is using in the Europe (UMTS 900/1900/2100).
When I do successfully an unlock will it unlock these bands or not?
Or Bell version hardware is different than other i8000?

Hi,
I sucessfully unlocked my t-mobile pocket pc phone edition which i bought in the USA. Back in Holland my BEN (a.k.a. t-mobile) sim didn't work because it doesn't support the 1800 network.
After the unlocking i bought a Vodafone SIM and it works. Thank you xda-developers!
But how do i get a rom update since i am not a t-mobile or O2 customer? Can anyone get me a link?

Just make very sure you never install the RSU (Radio Stack Upgrade) for anything but a 900/1900 phone, or you'll be in trouble...
You can safely install the O2 RUU Rom Upgrade packages to upgrade the PDA part, either normally or through the bootloader.
Just get the update from t-mobile
Just get the update from t-mobile's USA website
All you need is a valid T-mobile subscriber number to punch into their web site.
The entire block of 10-digit numbers 801808xxxx belongs to t-mobile. Try different numbers till you find one that works

ROM is 4.1
IMEI starts with 3....
tried quite a few softwares from xda but always asks for a unlock code SID:

I used lokiwiz 0.2b unlocked my USA Tmobile MDA sim and CID, i was wondering, now can i use this phone and go back to china and use it.... i didnt see the band selection in the Network...so, just asking...

I bought a htc touch cdma from Bell and I want to know if this only works on Bel or if it works on any network.
I already cid unlock to flash the rom with any rom.
It's necessary to unlock like we do with the sim phones?

Quick question,
how can you tell which is which by looking at the phones? The HD2 i currently have has been flashed, so it shows t8525 in the settings, when i purchased it, it came in the telstra box but my 3G doesnt work (running on Rogers with a 4000 series sim card)
Is there any other way to see if its the telstra version? where can i check what bands are being used for data?
the rom im running is 1.66.405.2 wwe

Look on the back, towards the bottom. The Telstra version will say NextG Network and have a T logo.

Use right now ATT but will change to T-mobile (USA) (none of them is as good asa the cheapest discouter Simcard in germany but if you have to live in the US what the option.
So wonder id i downlod with Radio where does it say with radio.
