Is there a mod to increase the speaker volume? I don't mean the in call volume, but the external speaker. I've looked all through the forums but have not found any information.
Thanks.
Anyone?

While these are not "mods" -- they will work to increase volume:

Looking to see what options we have to adding a bit more volume to the media levels of the external speaker.
Running LeeDroid 2.2.2/2.2.8 and even with the "20% boost" the ext. speaker is still very quiet.
What methods are there of adding more "loudness" to our external speaker after we've rooted?
Post your personal experience if possible..
Thanks!
Imho none, besides using external speakers. Don't forget it's a tiny lil speaker, what you expect from it?

Yep, it's definitely a small speaker. I've heard more (at least louder) come from comparable units. So it's an understandable expectation.
Thanks for the reply! Apparently the DSP Manager is broken when used on most new ROMs so hopefully that comes back to life.
Any other thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

Yeah that would work with ringtones and notification tones well but wouldn't do much for media volumes. Especially when you're streaming.
Leedroid gingerbread Rom is louder quite a bit. Could always backup and try it. I can't go back to froyo even tho it will do more for me with custom kernel because I can actually hear my phone ring now.

Sad, but true. However the Desire and Desire Z do have some impressive volume levels.
HTC have fixed the volume issues with the latest ota update for those on stock. My hdh is now very loud.

Isn't that just the audio fix for the tinny sound coming through the internal speaker while on the phone?
Yes sorry you are right. Its just the internal speaker. I have tried volume booster from market and that works very good to increase volume level, but only with earphones plugged in.

In "Call Settings" you'll find a box for "Hearing Aids", check and enable this setting and you'll notice a slight increase in the volume.
Hope it helps,

Yeah I've noticed that the in call volume us a little low for me too. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am surprised at the lack of information and help on the net for this issue. The in-call volume, and the speakerphone, are very quiet. Forget the radio and driving with the windows down, a moderate breeze is enough... I press the phone hard against my ear and still don't catch everything.
I've used CM's DSP manager to boost the speaker signal, and this isn't enough.
Even with full volume & the DSP boost, there is very little crackle. It's as if the speaker is barely utilized.
I haven't met anyone else with an Aria, but every other Android phone I've seen works perfectly fine as, you know, a phone.
I've never found anything for cm that raised the volume to the level I'd like.however drowning child ported 2 different sense roms that actually have pretty good volume.better than stock or cm.

As U All Know That Our S2(GT-I9100)Sound Quality is Not that much good As Other Devices HAve
We have Working DSPmanager In Both CM9/CM10 Roms But IF We Enable Bass Boost and Increase A Volume Little Bit The Sound Starts Distorting(I dontknow Word For it)
So Here Is My Settings And Apps To get Better SOund IN CM10/Cm9 Roms
I Like CM10 Rom More IN Terms Of Its SOund Quality
What U Need Is
1.Cm10/Cm9 Rom
2.Siyah 4.1.x + Kernel Link
3.Jetaudio app Link
4.Poweramp App Link
5.xxtweaker App by Fluxi Link
6.A Good Pair Of Earphones
After Installation Of All Above Things Do SAme AS I say
1.Open Jetaudio Play Any Song
Minimize it
2. Open Dsp manager And Setup BassBoost And Equalizer
Now U Will Here Dspmanager Bass And Eq Difference
3.Open Power Amp Go To Its Settings->Advance Audio Settings
Untick Direct Volume Control
4.Now Manage Its Equalizer (You Can Set According To You)
Play Any SOng Now DSPMANAGER WILL WORK WITH POWERAMP ALSO:angel::angel:
Now Open xxtweaker App i know Its Not Supported By SIyah Kernel just Open It
Cancel The Prompt
Goto Sound and Vibration Then Sound Settings
And Increment The Values AS Shown Above You can increment according to u also but dont change too much in Digital audio values
AFTER ALL THESE THINGS U WILL GET BETTER SOUND QUALITY WITH DSPMANAGER IN HIGH VOLUMES ALSO

Is it okay to use Apollo? or do i have to be Jetaudio to have all those awesome config?
cheers
awesome config btw, loving the beats :good:
Really, really helpful! Thanks heaps, bro! This entire article is extremely effective for improving your sound quality, especially the part with xxTweaker. Here is a custom EQ preset made by me for pumping out the maximum possible bass without sacrificing mids and lows:

BTW, I've changed my headphones since that thread. I own Sennheiser PX100-IIs now, and I don't think I could find a pair better than these for the S II.

I know we are talking about audio quality here, but I must say, the theme you are using is amazing
May I ask what you are using for that?
Know any equalizer/player able to set mono sound?
[no poweramp, didn't like it.]

Here you go. I take no credit for it. I found it somewhere else on this forum, but can't find the link right now. You have to be rooted. Also make a Nandroid backup before flashing. Do it at your own risk, if anything goes wrong, it's not my fault. Make a backup of the file "snd_soc_msm_Taiko_CDP" located in /system/etc/snd_soc_msm/ somewhere on your sd card in case the stock volume zip doesn't restore the correct file later.
I tried the moderate volume, and it worked great. I would do the loud one, it might be too loud.
Good luck

Check out the app Viper4Android. Not only will it make your volumes louder, it also has a great EQ which will make everything sound much better.

+1 for Viper4Android or beat music player's built in equalizer is better sounding bass in my opinion if it's just music that you care about
Note 2 Dual sim N9002
Hello All,
I used this moderate.zip on N9002 worked well however it crashes the sound on the sim in slot 2 thus no sound and microphone. The restore will not work and you will have to install backup..
Please be careful. I hope we can fix the problem as the patch definitely increase the volume on everything else.
Anyone know a mod or app that allows you increase the microphone gain?
