I'm curious if I'm the only one... I use Jabra A2DP headphones at work. When I walk away from my desk, I usually take my phone with me. When I come back to my desk, one of these things happens (I can't predict which one will happen, either):
1) Phone and headphones pair right up and it starts working (very very rare)
2) Nothing happens until I power off/on the headphones
3) It says connected, but no audio to headphones until I power them off/on
4) It says connected, but plays music out phone speaker (very very annoying)
5) For no apparent reason it may pop up voice dialer, and I'll say G*DD*MN*TWTF.. and then it tries to call someone.
I've had this problem with stock ROM/kernel, and every ROM/kernel combo I've tried. Right now I'm running EViO2-1.7.7. I think this could be an issue with the Jabra headphones, and if that's the case, I have no problem buying new headphones.. I just don't want to spend money unless I know it'll fix my problems. If you can confirm that you do or don't have the problem, please let me know what ROM/kernel you're running and what brand/model of headphones you have. Thanks!

I have no idea what caused this (no drops recently) but would REALLY appreciate some help as my phone is really useless at the moment.
Presently, absolutely NO sound comes out of my phone at any point, via speakers or headphones, except during calls, where i can hear the other person but they cant hear me, i.e. microphone isnt functioning.
I have no idea what causes this, I have done a hard reset and inserted and removed headphones many times.
I should clarify that by absolutely no sound, I mean nothing on the phone works sound wise. You can in fact hear a really faint clicking/popping sound occasionally, but its grey noise, its not really quiet versions of what the sound is meant to be.
Many thanks if anyone can help!
I also made a brief voice recording on the phone and copied it to my PC to find it was blank, so microphone doesnt work outside of a call either.
.. summary: mic broken, speakers only work in a call.
Help?
Bump! Please?
try pairing with a bluetooth headset, you should be ok ... seems your sound driver is corrupt, did you by any chance increrase the preamp a lot in tcpmp and play sound for a while before experiencing this?
Cheers for the reply!
I hadn't done anything out of the ordinary like you mentioned, it just stopped working. I have done a hard reset, wouldnt that sort out a bad sound driver?
And, as far as I know I have no access to a bluetooth headset, why would that be any different anyway?
Is there any chance a rom reflash could help? I'm at last resorts here, I'm thinking about buying a palm!! (for budget reasons)
I will try it if it could work, trouble is the usb port is very dodgy, dis- and re-connects very often, so that could be dodgy for a reflash?
:'( !!
also mine is off!! just hearphone works, but built-in speakers are dead!
PLEASEEE help me!!
same problem occured to me...
if you were using a normal headset and after you plugged it out the sound started to break apart then do the following:
1-turn your media player on and start playing any audio file while volume is at MAX...
2-try to plug it in first and then test if the sound comes out of the headset normally...
3-then plug the heasdset out of the device (not all of it keep some of the jack inside the headset hole) do that in slow motion....yes...in slow motion and try to focus in making the sound goes out of the headset and the device at the sametime....
4-if you managed to make the sound BLOWS OUT from the speakers then the problem is because you plugged out the headset too quickly which generated a shock (actually i dont know if that's the accurate definition)
5- try to twist the headset jack left and right and plug it out gentely while the sound is still going out of the speakers...
and thats it...
hope your device will get well soon

Anyone know how to make the THD to ring through speakers when a call is incoming? I like to use a wired headset and have it connected all the time so I don't have to plug it in our out all the time.
Didn't notice this at first since if you have 100% System Volume you can actually hear the ring but it's coming from the headphones and not the speaker so thought it was through speakers automaticly (also read someone claiming this in another thread).
So does anyone know of a way to solve my problem? Or is it just me getting the sound through headphones only when connected?
Thanks
I have the same question...
Mine seems to randomly ring through the speakers even with a headset connected sometimes, I find it pretty annoying since I don't want it to happen. I don't know how it's caused though.
Sometimes , when I plug headphones, or any auxiliary audio jack, a "microphone" icon appears on the upper bar on the screen, and then at the first instance of any noise it randomly dials someone from my recent call list. I usually catch it in time to end the call before it even rings, but not always. This is SO aggravating as very frequently I use my phone to listen to music either in my car or while exercising/working with headphones.
I've had this ongoing problem since release date and it seems to be random in frequency. Sometimes it happens every time I plug a jack in, then sometimes it goes a whole month without happening. The only way I've found to eliminate the "microphone" icon and prevent the phone from calling out is to stop my music, go to settings, other, voice command, and then uncheck the "enable voice command" box. It seems that inserting headphones automatically re-enables this against my will. I thought installing some of the updates or various roms would have helped, but nothing helped. I'm back to using the latest stock rom and because of my irritation with this phone have just about given up on doing any more to it.
Is there any way for me to permanently delete voice command? I never use it and unfortunately the only threads I can find on here deal with people asking the opposite.
Any advice would be appreciated.
If you're on an Android ROM try downloading Titanium Backup from the market and deleting the voice applications if you don't use any of them.

hd2 is a headphone button enabled phone ....so pluging in some jacks can cause the effect of the button to trigger on itself
Also on occasions fluff into audio port means the jack just does not drop right in
pull the battery and with a pin and torch check its clear, be gentle with the pin
I have many different heaphones/earbuds that I use with this phone and none of them give me a problem on the latest official HD2 Rom for T-Mobile
1. the original earbud set that came with it
2. Old (like 10 years old) Sony over the ear headphones (best sounding by far in this group and 6ft cord makes excellent antenna for FM radio)
3. phillips earbuds
4. Rocketfish earbuds (Crappiest but has long cord for antenna)
5. Phillips behind the neck heaphones (second best sounding)
6. Sony earbuds (these things rock for earbuds)
7. Phillips earphones
8. Skullcandy earbuds (offers the best fit out of all of them in the ear types)
If I have any gripes about using headphones it has to be that HTC put the jack on the wrong end of the phone.....
i couldnt find the place to ask this question, but would it still be wise to buy HTC HD2 instead of Motorola Defy? my budget is something around 17,000 INR. Pls guys help, im so confused bout buying the phone, personally i like the design of both Defy & HD2 and as i have read HD2 is better phone configuration wise and regarding flashing with custom roms but isn't it a bit outdated now?
Thanks for the replys. I'm considering filing an insurance claim on my device to see if they can fix it as I already suspected that the headphone jack itself may be the culprit. Since the hd2 is discontinued, if they can't replace/repair it, then I'm pretty sure they'll hook me up with the current gen htc handset for tmobile (evo?)
Still though. If anyone could tell me how to deactivate, or delete from the device/registry, Voice Command, it would save me a lot of trouble. I've only 3 months left until I get an upgrade anyway.
I am running stock (with root) 4.2.2 sw on my 32GB D802, first irritating thing is every time i turn on my headphones the Sennheiser MM 450-x to connect to phone I always must press a confirmation dialog on my phone to establish a connection.
Second is that 8 of 10 times I pair/connect I get really crap sound, with cracking, and noise, this is not something i hear without actually playing some music and only way to solve this is to turn on and off both BT and headphones, pair and reconnect many times until I get a clean connection.
And third it is that the phone does not allow me to use the headphones as handsfree.
All of these things worked without a problem on my old SGS 3.
Anyone know a solution, or if maybe KK will solve it?
TL;DR I LOVE my phone, these Bluetooth issues are going to make me smash it into a million pieces. Any custom rom's or fixes for the OEM rom that FIXES them once and for all? I had NONE of these issues on Android 5 on my old phone. A factory fresh phone with no added apps is STILL unstable.
Long read:
I pre-ordered the 6P and have had a mixed relationship with it the past 6 months, the thing pissing me off most is the Bluetooth on this thing.
I DID install MHC19I and it did not help, with anything.
Here's what's happening.
#1 I have a Moto 360 watch that drops bluetooth connection and when it restores, google voice search on the watch remains broken until I restart the phone. This was not an issue on my old phone.
#2 I also am having hell with headsets/speakers. I will be listening to a speaker, get a call, and the damn music doesn't pause and starts playing over the headset AFTER I answer the call, this isn't everytime, but it happens enough to piss me off.
#3 When I hang up the call, the sound does not always go back to the speaker, it says it is, but I hear nothing OR it says it is, and I hear the music coming from the phone. Play Music, Pandora, and Spotify. I have to go into bluetooth settings and force a reconnect. This is happening in my Car, in my house with my Yamaha BT receiver, with a Logitech BT adapter, and a jbl bluetooth speaker.
#4 Sometimes when I first reconnect to the speaker after being out of range, the sound stays at the phone even though it says the speaker is connected.
#5 Just can not keep a stable connection with my 2016 Acadia. The phone has locked up on multiple occasions when either making or receiving phone calls through the car. "Phone has stopped" or something like that.
I upgraded to Android N in an attempt to improve my situation in the least and I don't know what I expected. It's way worse.
Compound all the issues above with:
#1 Delayed notifications to my watch (it starts vibrating to notify me of a call AFTER my ringer has already been ringing 30 seconds)
#2 "mute phone calls on the phone" when connected to watch is broken (The ringer goes off no matter how many times I flip the setting on and off)
#3 It stops broadcasting the playing song information to the display via bluetooth to my car or receiver FREQUENTLY
#4 Answering a phone call via bluetooth occasionally locks up requiring a disconnection from the headset and then I can proceed with the call on the phone.
#5 It either doesn't send the audio to the headset and/or the bluetooth and watch controls lock up (can't change song or control volume, but the music continues playing fine.)
#6 The BIGGEST issue was my 2013, and now my 2016 GMC Acadia. I am going to crash it one of these days with all the dicking around I am doing with the phone when trying to listen to music or take a phone call.
Anyone? I am seriously contemplating giving up EVERYTHING I like about android and getting an iPhone JUST because of these Bluetooth issues (which DO NOT exist on the iPhone 6s).
I solved all my bluetooth issues by turning bluetooth volume all the way up, then turning it down 4 steps from full volume. No drop outs or disconnects from anything since!
I think you must have a defective phone. I have zero problems with Bluetooth on the 6p and I have 10+ Bluetooth devices I use at least 3 of them daily.
Sorry you're having trouble...
I completely factory reset my phone. NO third party apps. Running MHC19I. Music has been fine all day, phone calls are still a problem.
I dial a number, it say's dialing, but I never hear it ringing in my headset. Then the caller picks up and the call timer starts counting. I can clearly see it says it's sending audio via bluetooth and I hear NOTHING. Same on my car shows it's being sent to the radio, but the radio never get's the clue. It works when it wants too, and a restart of the phone always fixes it when it isn't working. It's very frustrating.
I think u might have a defective device BC I'm not experience any of these with my Bluetooth headset. And I'm Stock on MHC19i also .. Sorry u having these bad experiences.
