Anyone know how to make the THD to ring through speakers when a call is incoming? I like to use a wired headset and have it connected all the time so I don't have to plug it in our out all the time.
Didn't notice this at first since if you have 100% System Volume you can actually hear the ring but it's coming from the headphones and not the speaker so thought it was through speakers automaticly (also read someone claiming this in another thread).
So does anyone know of a way to solve my problem? Or is it just me getting the sound through headphones only when connected?
Thanks
I have the same question...
Mine seems to randomly ring through the speakers even with a headset connected sometimes, I find it pretty annoying since I don't want it to happen. I don't know how it's caused though.

Anyone have a problem like this:
I did a had reset but it still is doing this-
The speaker plays my ringtones out loud even when my headphones are plugged in!!
Thanks,
Daniel
Mine has always been like that, whicever ROM I used.
Really????
My old XDA never did this...
So if i'm listening to music I run the risk of having my ringtone play out loud??
Is the only solution to change my ring prefrences to vibrate only when i'm listening to music (since the phone volume itself cannot be muted)??
When I preview the sound it doesnt play out loud
I don't have such problem with original headset. But, if I use bluetooth headset it happens.
So this is not normal....
How do I fix it?
I tried a hard reset- didn't work!!
Playing the ringtone out of the speaker even though the headphones are in is normal with most if not all phones. The headphones are only to listen to music and calls.
If you had the phones in but not in your ears and the phone rang only in the headphones how would you hear it?
Why would your headphones be plugged in if you are not listening to music?? And to answer your question- you would know the phone is riging by it vibrating.
Anyways- many people told me this is not normal...so there must be a way to change it.
Also, when I am in silent or vibrate mode and I accidentaly or even purposely push my Voice Command button the beep sound will come out of the speaker-
It will change the sound icon from Vibrate or Silent to the regular icon but will stay in silent/vibrate mode-
Is this normal??

Not sure about the voice command question but with regards "WHy would you have your headphones in if you're not listening to music" the answer is to use the phone handsfree.
Whether this is in the car (law over here) or while in the office a lot of people over here use headphones instead of holding the phone to your ear, some believe that the safer or healthier. No real proof but handsfree is popular.
Saw this same post on the Neonode forum and the SE's do the same so I presumed normal and as I say if you were using the headphones as handsfree if actually a good thing. Yes the vibrate would tell you but say you're at someone else's desk and can't hear the phone vibrating across your desk (hell of a vibrate really isn't it).
Anyway, hope that answers the headphones question
So why did some people say this doesn't happen to them?
That's an unanswerable question. It could be any number of reasons and going on the state of play with the ROMs is possibly down to this.
Going through the forums its amazing the number of people that have different problems with apparently the same phone.
I have the exact same problem, and am still looking for a solution.
The most irritating thing is that when I turn all ringtones off (only vibrate on) and I receive an incoming call, the sound that is currently playing (windows media player or some other program) is played for a fraction of a second thru the external speaker (the program pauses the mp3 playback on an incoming call, but this happens to late). Because of this it's impossible to use the phone for MP3 playback in a place where it's important that no sound is produced.
It would be really nice to completly turn the external speaker off when a headset is plugged in (i find it really strange this isn't the case right now).
It would be nice if someone found a solution for this (in my opionion) huge problem.
Yea,
I found this is irritating too,
I am using pocketMax Phonealarm
and mute:
- system volume
- phone volume
but max the call volume ( as I think that's required to answer a call)
I plugged my headset (using 2.5mm to 3.5mm jack) and listen the music using winamp & increase the volume, apparently the system volume is increased too ==> I think that's the reason why everytime:
- incoming phone call
- any reminder
is sounded in the headset too.... totally [email protected]@[email protected]#
Any solution for this????!!!!!
is there any way to change this? i use my headset to listen to tunes while @ work and the gym, and the whole idea is to eliminate noise coming from the phone (and my desk!)
however, to listen to music you need to turn the sound on - but when you do, and you receive an incoming call, the ringer sound comes right from the phones speakerphone externally. when i get texts it stays within my ears (im pretty sure)
i know you could drop the phone call volume to 0 but what would that do? would you not hear it at all then, even in the headset? would the music even stop playing to signify an incoming call or would it keep playing since theres no need to output any other sound (the ringer)
anyone have a fix or an idea?
same issue in htc athena advantage x7501
real pain in the neck, since it doesn't vibrate.
and with the bluetooth, you solve that problem, but you still can't have any system sounds through the bluetooth headset.
this really wasn't well thought through.
any ideas?
a patch soon?
help?
I have no idea what caused this (no drops recently) but would REALLY appreciate some help as my phone is really useless at the moment.
Presently, absolutely NO sound comes out of my phone at any point, via speakers or headphones, except during calls, where i can hear the other person but they cant hear me, i.e. microphone isnt functioning.
I have no idea what causes this, I have done a hard reset and inserted and removed headphones many times.
I should clarify that by absolutely no sound, I mean nothing on the phone works sound wise. You can in fact hear a really faint clicking/popping sound occasionally, but its grey noise, its not really quiet versions of what the sound is meant to be.
Many thanks if anyone can help!
I also made a brief voice recording on the phone and copied it to my PC to find it was blank, so microphone doesnt work outside of a call either.
.. summary: mic broken, speakers only work in a call.
Help?
Bump! Please?
try pairing with a bluetooth headset, you should be ok ... seems your sound driver is corrupt, did you by any chance increrase the preamp a lot in tcpmp and play sound for a while before experiencing this?
Cheers for the reply!
I hadn't done anything out of the ordinary like you mentioned, it just stopped working. I have done a hard reset, wouldnt that sort out a bad sound driver?
And, as far as I know I have no access to a bluetooth headset, why would that be any different anyway?
Is there any chance a rom reflash could help? I'm at last resorts here, I'm thinking about buying a palm!! (for budget reasons)
I will try it if it could work, trouble is the usb port is very dodgy, dis- and re-connects very often, so that could be dodgy for a reflash?
:'( !!
also mine is off!! just hearphone works, but built-in speakers are dead!
PLEASEEE help me!!
same problem occured to me...
if you were using a normal headset and after you plugged it out the sound started to break apart then do the following:
1-turn your media player on and start playing any audio file while volume is at MAX...
2-try to plug it in first and then test if the sound comes out of the headset normally...
3-then plug the heasdset out of the device (not all of it keep some of the jack inside the headset hole) do that in slow motion....yes...in slow motion and try to focus in making the sound goes out of the headset and the device at the sametime....
4-if you managed to make the sound BLOWS OUT from the speakers then the problem is because you plugged out the headset too quickly which generated a shock (actually i dont know if that's the accurate definition)
5- try to twist the headset jack left and right and plug it out gentely while the sound is still going out of the speakers...
and thats it...
hope your device will get well soon

Hello Friends
I test the android rom MIUI and works perfect to my phone but i have one problem,
my mobile has an old problem with the earpiece and i must always wired headset to listen,
so, when i recieve a call, my mobile rings through the wired headset and i can not listen only if i unplugged them,
can someone please tell me if there is a solution;
if can ring trough the speaker?
The rings are by default the speaker playing it..
but what I understood that your speaker is damaged?
Of course if you speaker's phone damaged, then there must be another thing that you can hear the sound!!

sory for my english,
the back speaker is ok and works perfect!!!
I have problems with the earpiece of the mobile, i can listen from the back speaker, so I got connected wired headphones to listen always.
But when i recieve calls, the ringing tone is heard through wired headphones, not heard from the back speaker in mobile.
Is there a solution, to have the wired headphone plugged but to hear only the ringtone from the back speakers in mobile?
otherwise, I should have disconnected the headphones to listen the call, and when i recieve the call , plugged the headphones to be able to speak.
i search to settings but there is no function to do this.
This must a software do that, you may find an app to do that for you...
I think this is good example: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ioconcert.headset.ringtone.manager.demo&hl=en
Good luck
I like to listen to audio books. So most of the time I leave my ear buds connected to the phone. Every android phone I've had. Has rang the ringtone at the volume. You have it set on the phone, when you get a call. But on my phone it rings so low you can barely hear it in a quiet room. I would say you wouldn't be able to hear it ring with a headset connected to the 3.5mm connector in a loud area. Is this issue just my phone or is there a setting I need to adjust. Any help is much appreciated
edit: also I've disconnected the earbuds while its ringing and it returns the ringtone to full volume. Yes I have turned the ringer volume up with the headset connected to the phone and that doesn't help
have you ever been able to figure it out? I'm having the same problem.
