Free apps? - Streak 5 General

Is there a site where I can download licensed apps for free on my locked Dell streak?
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App

Why don't you try google, and that is a pretty **** move to the developers of these apps. Most of them are 3.99 tops, you cant really spend that much?

Pm me ill give u a site. lol you guys are so mean hahaha.

Nah, they're not mean... they just do not have anything else better to do lol, so I truly understand wht they are going thru.

Most paid apps give you the chance to uninstal them without charge if you do it within 24 hours. Almost all paid apps have free trial versions and very few apps cost more than a couple of dollars, don't be a tight arse..

...nobody around here is mean, we just don't like #&&$+(s - BTW, the site you are looking for is www.fbi.com/register

[Q] Difference between XDA Free Version and Paid

I'm on XDA a lot and I've considered getting the paid version of XDA for my phone. Whats the difference between the two? Is it worth buying? I see reviews that go both ways.
Get it. It gives u more options. I have no problem with the paid version.

Donation. That's the difference

Yes. Donate to xda. Also, I musta thanked 25 people today lol. I thought it was limited, but maybe not. Oh yeah, premium has the thank feature and the multi quote feature (not sure if free has that). Still, BUY IT, it's good for us/xda. You know xda buys devs phones? You think they print the money themselves?

I've always had lots of issues with the xda app, so I went straight to the source and bought the tapatalk app. Its a much better experience.

I'm pretty sure the free version can do both of those. The free version has bothersome ads, but I'd say most people are using AdFree so they don't have to deal with them anyways.

Any CM9 Dev's need a phone?

Selling mine for $100 (I'll let it go for $75) to a good developer. Figured I would offer it up.

Thank you, i thought this price was more than fair? I guess I could go down to 50 for a developer...
Take a look at my post here in general. I'm no dev, but my current situation is effed.

Sorry I'm not giving a phone. I will offer it for a ridiculously cheap price, as I have already done. Take it or leave it. No need to troll me over it.

Are those prices also for used Epics?
Granted, the new ones are with a new contract discount, but they also come with the packaging, manual, and headphones... and there are a couple other things about his other thread that seem a little weird, which makes me kinda wonder - it might just be the way he presents it, but the presentation is what hooks potential buyers - guess I'm not one of them

100 is fair..as long as it's in good working condition it's not a bad deal.
I wouldn't go lower than that Gordon, if lowballers aren't willing to pay a Benjamin, don't you worry, the devs aren't cheap. If they need it, they'll buy it. Perhaps a member in need will buy it if not a dev. I bought mine for 230$ when it first came out off-contract, but there's still people with money to blow who I could sell it to for 250$ if I felt like it, so $100 is fair if you ask me. Some people love to be on the contrary, they love it, just ignore it. Lol.

There's not many dev left but a die hard fan might. Pretty sure whether ur ramsey/say... 50-75 is a bad esn price. Its pretty fair. Buy a new screen at that price...

Just because you know people with more money than sense, doesn't mean it's fair to take advantage of them
Lol
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA
I found an epic on Craigslist which messed up during an update (battery ran out). So now it only boots to recovery. It has a clean ESN and its only $50. I've been planning on switching back to the epic for a while, so I'm going to jump on it.
I'm going to Odin it when I meet him to check the esn.

Actually, that's exactly what it means! Lol
I think all the devs that want this phone have it. I doubt any new developer would want an epic this late in the game. Maybe an existing developer would want a second one.

Used Phones for Sale?

I don't know if this is the right place for this or if it's even allowed because the marketplace shut down. I'm in the market for a used phone (T-Mobile USA compatible) to replace my Galaxy Nexus. It seems my only options are eBay, Craigslist and Swappa. Just wondering if anyone can recommend any other websites.
Hmmm maybe this isn't the place for requesting or selling phones. But perhaps a thread dedicated to deal sites would be a good idea. I too have been looking for a cheap ($20) phone to use with Google voice as a home phone. It would be nice if I knew what sites to check for used or discount phones.
Plus more people checking other sites means more people informing us of deals.
If a moderator comes to close this thread, please consider making a sticky that can list deal websites

What's the best way to make a paid app?

Make a free version and a paid 'pro' version?
Make a single free app with in-app purchase that will upgrade it to a pro version.
I think the second way is more convenient because you don't need to handle two apps but I see the first case a lot more often on market.

I was asking myself that same question for months. I decided to go with your first option. I know most people are going to say that micro-transaction is the way to go now but I feel like its cheating the buyers out there.I recently bought a game for $3 and it also had micro-transaction as well. I paid for the game, dont want to keep on paying for perks that should be free.
I guess it just depends on the developer. What type of game are you looking into developing?

In all honesty, I see PAID apps on their way out by 2014. Everyone always goes for the lowest common denominator. So, the objective from a marketing standpoint would be to release only free apps and have them all have in-app purchases. Everyone will download something for free, and then without having to go back and download something else, they'll just tick the in app purchase box.
But, the pro apps that offer a lot will do just fine as paid.
IAP(In App purchases) have been the trend for a while now. I get your point about customers who rather download a free app over a paid app. In the long run customers will be spending more money on those free apps because of the IAP! I know someone who downloaded a free game and paid $40.00 for an IAP that gave him all the weapons and items.
I feel like if you have a good product, it will sell.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Also pro for 2 apps is they will give you 2x exposure on the play.
But if paid version only removes ads, will customers buy it?
You would need to add more features in the paid app to attract the customers to buying the game.

I have a way.
Sell a pro app with promotion price(on you need, like Plants v.s Zombies in IPhone has limited time promo. Can get you big explodes for app)

Like some time your app price on $4.99(this is too high). You put a price for everyone on like only 5 day(time you get).Put the price on $0.99 or Free.(This is one of the marketing strategies)

I've also thought about doing that same thing with my app. Have a special for a week or so sell it half price. Even after the special is over I can do another special in the future as well.

You can have ads in the free version, and have an option of telling the user if they want to get rid of ads buy pro version now. Either way sounds good.

Yeah, free version with ads and option to upgrade to a pro + separate pro version. Pro version will have no ads and more functionality. Would be this fine or confusing for users?
