I have an HD2 running the WP7 Rom, with the XAP installer running under admin.
Whenever i try to install an app, I get the error connection message...
I have zune running, and i've unlocked the phone and i downloaded many apps via marketplace. and also i cannot use windows SDK deployment it says "invalid xap"
i have seen this in many posts but bno threads and no answer at all

Well I just installed WP7 on my T-Mobile Leo and also downloaded some apps. I'm discovering the forum maybe for 7-8 hours and got many solution for this. After I installed necessary programs like Connection Setup, TouchXplorer I didn't get any problem but after sync with Zune I couldn't install other apps I downloaded then as usual I searched if someone had the same problem and figured out Zune relock your device after every sync. That might be another problem but after I tried to unlock it again via Chevron, it worked and now I installed all apps with current sync.
You can try to unlock it again via Chevron and use TOM XAP as before if you ever unlock your phone '.)
i had same trouble few times... here is what i did... i uninstalled all the sideloaded app... and used the unlocker to unlock the phone... and used the xap provided here to prevent zune from unlocking it again... then installed sideload app limit removal... and installed other xap's normally ... and it hasn't locked or gave me any problem since then....

If i am not wrong tap and hold on applications icon until a menu opens , then select "UNinstall"
I had this trouble.
Do you have Net Framework 4 installed?? If not then this is probably your problem.
Also try a custom ROM. These claim to be unlocked and this will make installing xap a breeze. I currently have HD2 1.00.00.WP7 and it works fine. Dont have to go into flight mode when connecting by USB to sideload apps or games and I havent had any apps come up as revoked by Microsoft yet in 3 days.
Hope this helps.
I had this problem too and I solved it by reinstalling just .NET Framework 4.
Now it works as before.

For all of you trying to instal WP7 and getting stuck at the dreaded chevron unlocker "Uh-OH" that will not let you pass, look no further. There are a lots of ifs and buts but no definite answer to it. Below method worked 100%.
I tried it multiple times. I in no way encourage you to use WP7 and unlocking procedures but heres simply what you do if you want to do
Instal Zune
Connect WP7-HD2
Click on the sync relationship below the picture of your LEO70
key in any name...i used HD7
Once connected, create a zune id...You can use your windows live id though
Goto settings ---date and time and uncheck automatic date VERY IMPORTANT
sync your phone...Check if port 443 is free that means no SKYPE or anything. Instal registry key in windows
Put chevron installer on root of C
Stop any antivirus & anti spyware IMPORTANT
Run chevron with administrative controls
Make sure before running chevron that Wp7 is Screen on and not keypad locked. Make sure the white screen on zune is there clearly showing your phone model and name that you made.
I do NOT have the developers kit or tools installed.
I am on windows 7 64 bit
So this kills all speculations.
Hope you guys can get it to work.
I needed to disable my web proxy (Privoxy, in my case) for ChevronWP7 to work.
Note that you may need to reboot for proxy changes to be picked up by the Zune *service* (not the app).

Do you see your phone in the Zune window or is it a shadow?
Uninstal zune....restart....instal zune...restart.
plug phone into a dufferent USB

I'm on XP to and i can't make chevron running. what do you mean about registry key? I have to add it on my computer?
Ok..some noob questions because every day i see new things here and to much info just confuse me... This guide will help me unlock (jailbreak) my phone without Activation from Microsoft?????

There doesn't seem to be a cure-all for this issue.
I was able to get mine successfully unlocked yesterday almost by chance.
I had to keep going into Command Prompt (administrator mode), keying in c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc, and then executing "notepad hosts" and deleting the host file that the phone kept creating everytime I ran Chevron.
I also had my phone in airplane mode.
Today, I decided to blow up the phone with Task29 and reflash WP7 to see if it helped my battery performance. Much to my chagrin, I was unable to duplicate whatever worked for me yesterday.
I'm back on Android until this is fixed with a known, proven solution for multiple users.
i just install the windows phone drivres and it woks , i just unlock my hd2 but the market dosent work on the phone

I accidentally relocked the device but It wont unlock againn???? What kind of justification is that. Now I cant go back to unlcoked mode now.!!! Please help. Tried all of the above.

how did you install the windows phone drivers because when I plug my phone on my computer ( windows Vista 32bit) it just say it just say installing that's it. Also i can't see the phone in Zune no matter what USB port i use or computer. Help would be greatly appreciated.
So to get this straight...to sync my images,music (ONLY!!!) I have to Activate my Phone with Microsoft??

Nothing I did would get it working with WinXP, I finally gave up and installed Win7 on a spare drive and it worked on the second or third go.

im having trouble loading XAP files to my HD2, i have the tom's installer and they load onto the phone that appears on the computer but when you go and click on each item to install they all have a different reason for not loading some talk about dll files and the camera give a longer error message. i would like to get this all fixed before i try and load the android onto the phone thanks for your help. i used the Tech1 Easy DWI Installer to get wp7 on my phone.
I dont know what camera is in the WP7 file that i loaded but it seams to work fine there is a list of XAP on the HTC HD2 site that i have tried with no luck.

I can't install .xap too, but for me the Tom Xap installer gives mee an error saying to check the Phone is unlocked & Zune is launched.
& i checked on the phone, app isn't here.
When i installed the Rom the 1st time, Zune made 2updates itself, maybe it's the cause. (But i updated with DEV_UNLOCK.cab)
So i wonder if i've to reflash? due to encrypting of the SD card, there wont be any issue?
you must do hard reset after upgrade to Mango RTM.... go to Settings, About, Reset
I was getting the check phone to make sure it was unlocked error also i think what took care of that problem was in the tom's i checked the emulator instead of device.

It missed the hardreset after the first installation as well. But it's essencial and everything works afterwards perfectly!!! Nice

I have done the reset after installation, but still cant load xap files.
Tried with Toms but it gives back an error "phone not connected ....."
When I look in the meny on the phoneAdvanced config is there but when I try to execute
I closes after 5sec.

I had my mango 7720.68 unlocked with chevron before but relocked it because i thought it was causing boot freeze.
Now it won't unlock, i've tried everything.
Cleared developer services in c:/windows/system32/drivers/host
Turn off firewall/anti-virus
Why would it previously work? Now its just

since it took some time for me to find out how to side load apps in WP7.5, I'll explain it to other noobs:
You need to install Zune, the .NET 4.0 Framework and Windows Phone SDK 7.1. Then install Phone7Market (you can find it here). It comes with the Phone7Market itself, from which you can download your .xap files and with the Phone7Deployer. Connect your HD2 via Zune, create a desktop shortcut for the Phone7Deployer, get your xap file you want to deploy (i.e. from the Phone7Market) and drag&drop it on your desktop shortcut. It won't harm to check the two boxes (remove drm and the other one). A few seconds later, you should find your app/game on your device.
btw, this is FREE, so you don't need to pay 9 bucks for chevron.

I'm sorry to hear that, but I can't help you with that since I don't have this error. The only two things that come to my mind: You need Windows Vista or 7 for the SDK and you should try a hard reset on your device (backup your data before of course).

Same error here.
My phone is unlocked, but I am unable to install applications on my device, I'm running HD2O latest rom v1.26 fully unlocked?
Though I am connected to Zune and the phone is syncing, but the TOM XAP installer says:
'Please make sure your phone was unlocked'
'Please make sure you connected device to PC and Zune launched.'

Yeah, I know, my screen is unlocked, the ROM is fully unlocked too, but I keeps getting this error and cannot send XAP files, I was using WP7 for may be 6 months and this is the first time that I have a problem.....

Everything works fine before, and nothing is changed to the PC, and yes I have everything installed, but just one day the xap installing stopped to work.....
using Tom XAP Installer doesn't work to install xap files anymore. used this method to install touchexplorer and xbmoddeployer, but out of any reason the toms xap installer doesnt let me install anything. zune is turned on and the phone is connected to the pc, using phone 7 v. 8107. any suggestions?

this ROM is also update with CAB's and fully unlocked (all patched XBL games work), plus have latest multitouch driver
but if you want change ROM, dont forget first to unlock SDcard....

followed your advise, double checked on date and time, connected the phone to pc while beeing on home screen, works!

Got same problem here. Syncd the date and time, running yuki xbmod rom with SP1, at home screen with screen powered on (not sleeping) XAPs wont install and PC complains unable to connect to device. Zune is running, tried TOm's XAP installer and XapDeployX. Even my caller id is screwed up. Tried removing unlock and callerid and installed these 2 fixes, still same issues. Help!
Saw in yuki xbmod rom's main page that SP1 has the new HTC drivers for HTC Hub Live Tile and do not support TouchXplorer and old apps. Is this the cause for my problems?

maybe to try Pdamatejam ROM (already suggested in post 4.)? cab files work, HTC Hub live tile work, full unlocked (Opera, all XBL games work), TouchXplorer work, latest multitouch driver work... only dont forget to unlock card before ROM change...
p.s. if you worry about apps, just make backups with WPDM...
