Wired tether - Fascinate General

I was just wondering if there are any custom kernels with the permissions for wired tether included into it. I have searched all over and can't seem to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance

download easytether from the market

Yeah only problem is that you have to pay for it. If somebody added permissions to their kernel for wired tether for root users u could tether for free. Just came from an evo so I didn't have this problem but thinking about returning fascinate and keeping sprint.

Says the kernel needs to be netfilter enabled

easytether lite is free, just doesn't allow https connections. You can also get the full version at that "other place"...

Are you running any custom kernels? The stock kernal works just fine using easy tether

you can get easy tether pro or pdanet pro on www.blackdroid.net for free. And i am not sure if i could post that on here so please delete this reply if that is something not allowed on here.

easytether I found to be more reliable...

Nothing is faster or more reliable than Wired Tether for Root users, in terms of wired tethering.
Upsetting that my Fascinate, and my friend's Droid X are incapable.
PDANet and EasyTether are OK.
But they communicate differently than Wired Tether, in a way that makes them inherently less reliable.
I wonder if a kernel won't be put together with it eventually.
I use it every day. I have to use my first-generation android phone (HTC Eris).

Yes that's very true

This belongs in the General section. Mods, please move this thread.

The general section where it wont get noticed? This has to do with development so it belongs right here

The general section is where it belongs. This thread has nothing to do with development. Are you teaching people how to use wired tether? Did you post an app for wired tether? No, so it belongs in General.

Yeah, I was wrong once, but we are in general....soooooo

Cyanogen for PS3.

Ps3's code was hacked and custom firmware can be installed on 3.55.Only problem is that you cant install unsigned pakages on it.So its pretty useles.
We need to have Cyanogen make a rom for PS3 so we can play backups and make ps3 as phat as our Epic.
im pretty sure cyanogen is an android dev and that the ps3 doesnt run android........
And what pray tell is the point of running a phone OS on your PS3?
A touch based OS too...
Just to show that u can post a bs thread on here and people will read it.Cyanogen for PS3,lmfao.
Why this even on epic general. It has nothing to with android and last time I checked cyanoged did android. I doing think It is possible run ps3 games on android even if its a ps3 running it

They can ban this one as long as they ban other 50 pointless theads on here.Just makin a point that people need to stop posting bs on here.
no you realized your thread was stupid so now youre saying that.... no one cared about your thread and only came in to tell you how horrible it is... people like you are why theres problems in the epic forums and why devs are leaving
Again with the replies adding fuel. Why don't we just let useless threads die?

Seriously? You've posted the same comment in quite a few threads which was off topic. Now you make your own with a title for downloading gingerbread.
Lame way to ask for help.

Actually, you already have a thread asking your question a few threads down the general forum page.
Just wow...

Camera and force stops with the sports option

Not sure what happened to my last thread, but I was given really detailed info on how to fix my camera and it was gone before I had the time to take advantage of it Nothing like wasting the time of those willing to help you. Hopefully I just couldn't find it, but I checked my subscribed threads and nothing was there.
If you have recovery installed, you can install one of the kernels in the development forum. They have the camera fixes built in.

I don't know squat about any of this, which is why I didn't just use the instructions people had already given in other threads. They use terminology I don't understand and assume you know what they are talking about when they say use this kernel or that one (or whatever). I just checked and somehow I'm not subscribed to this thread as well. Maybe the other one is still here... I have never been on a forum where you weren't automatically subscribed to your own threads.
Ah.. well I found your thread lol. I'm using xda app so don't know if it'll link right, if not just copy and paste.

MIUI 1.7.8 MMS confirmed working!

Andmer finally has MMS working on his rom with the apk listed here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15707813/miui/Mms.apk. Replace the apk in system/app with root explorer and exit permissions. This is confirmed by myself and many others who have sent numerous incoming and outgoing mms messages. I dont believe there is anymore functionality i would need out of this rom other than speed and sensor optimizations. Also, autobrightness doesnt seem to work at the moment.
O yay.. just what we needed...
another thread.
Thanks for letting us know.
But next time, could you please post it in the MIUI development thread? Thanks.
Wow...I thought that the general section was for these types of threads.. first everyone complains that things are posted in the wrong section, now the wrong thread?? This community it's slowly going to **** with the people posting only negative comments.

I was saying he should have posted it in the MIUI thread we have in the Development forum since that's where it'd get more exposure. How that is bad to say is beyond me.

It's all over the miui thread. But unless you want to read through several pages, you won't see it. Hence the general section for better coverage to the average reader.

I also heard that the in call audio issue was also fixed? What were the files that were used?

So, you want everyone to create a new thread everytime something changes in a ROM thread? That is what you want? I don't think so.

Jeeeez, mms is something that has been a feature desired by a number of people for many months. There is nothing wrong with this thread. Go troll the knob that needs help deciding whether to get a dx2,inc, or charge.
good day.

sorry. i don't have enough posts to post there. figured if there was a thread for the cm7 anticipation, people wouldn't mind seeing when miui would be fixed. besides... this IS the general section.

I'm in the same boat (not enough posts).
Very excited to see the MMS fix! I ran the MIUI ROM a few builds ago and decided it wasn't quite ready for my daily driver, but now it looks very promising. Can't wait to flash the new build on Friday.
JT and Andmer are some awesome devs and have done a great job on these ROMs!
What do you mean by exit permissions?
I don't understand what that means. Thanks in advance!!

yes, http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=652574&d=1310485493 if you havent already found the link =)
audio works fine on my part after this fix. once again, replace apk in system/app... it WILL force close. reboot, edit permissions through root explorer, reboot again if necessary.
Anyway to get the apk installed without root explorer. Currently I am broke can't afford to purchase it

Super Manager works good and is Free. Still, if you can afford it down the road Root Explorer definitely works the best for me.

[Q] Sprint Tethering Options

I'm reading mixed reviews on what works and what doesn't work to tether a Sprint GS4. What are people using and how well does it work? Thanks!

There is a link to native hot spot

+1. Works great for me, and I've been using the heck out . Haven't really heard anyone complain about the native HotSpot, but maybe I missed some thread about it?
