Anyway, how to flash kernel/EXT4 now?
Need help plz, step by step

I think you should read this forum more and more.....
Playing with bootloader and kernel without proper knowledge (enough understanding) may lead to bigger problem.
There are many step-by-step out there, you just need to read.
You cant flash new kernel if you have protected bootloader [Chainfire released the patch].
The instruction how to flash the kernel will most likely be at the same place to download the kernel.

Are you trying to say that you have protected bootloaders and this is preventing you from flashing the ROM you want? If that's the case this problem has been fixed by Chainfire and Rotohammer. Have a look for the thread about protected bootloaders and you'll find the APK that fixes it.

Look here:

Not hard to find..

[REQ] Stock kernel file

Is it possible for someone to upload stock kernel file for 2.2.1 XXJPY (kernel version is 2.6.32.9 [email protected] #1). Version that is flashable via odin, not cwm version.
I am about to flash my kernel with custom one, but would like to have stock kernel near me, just in case that something goes wrong...
Subquestion is:
is it even possible to reflash to stock kernel via odin once you fot custom one (speedmode to be precise)? I think i read somewhere on forum that it is not entirely possible. Does someone have any expirience with this?
Samfirmware (http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-i9000.htm) has all stock firmwares.
Yes of course you can flash back to stock, you just need to make sure that lagfixes are disabled if you enabled one.
But honestly, I'm 100% sure you won't go back to stock after flashing a custom kernel or rom, it's just that much better.

Thank you very much.
But, as I can see, on this page there are whole roms to flash, I wanted only kernel files. Could kernel be downloaded somewhere?
I'm on stock rom 2.2.1 with CF-root kernel.
Haven't seen a stock only-kernel when I searched for it recently on this forum.
I decided now to download the full stock rom from samfirmware instead which I can go back to in case Kies won't allow me to update to Gingerbread. I figured there's no big difference whether I flash a ROM (which includes the kernel) or just the kernel, the effort is the same.
I just learned that returning to stock ROM (kernel) will be little more difficult for me because my phone is T-mobile branded!
If I flash to a stock firmware does that mean kies will then recognise my firmware as offcial so I can download new updates through it. Thanks

You can always use SpoofFW to flash to your original firmware

No as its not the firmware that came with the phone nor its Kies update .
As post above only method once you use Odin is either a backed up copy of original firmware and yes a few backed up or spoof fw .

Thanks for your help what do you mean by 'spoof' fw

Ok, this is my real problem. JJE might know solution to it...
Before i start flashing my kernel, ROM etc... I would like insurance that if in a couple of months something dies in my SGS, like speaker or something, I can go to repair shop and have guarantiee.
For that I would have to reverse all changes to virginly clean T-mobile branded ROM.
As I understand, to do that i would have to flash it via Odin with 3 files (PDA, PHONE and CSC).
Currently, when I type *#1234# in phone I get:
PDA - I9000BOJS5
PHONE - I9000XXJPY
CSC - I9000GCROJS4
so I presume that are the files version that must be flashed in Odin.
I managed to find all files except CSC code (for Croatian T-mobile 2.2.1 ROM). Couldn't find it anywhere.
Is it possible to put some Multi CSC and then later change it to right one ( I9000GCROJS4) with spooffw?
Or there is another way to find/backup/extract CSC from my current configuration.
Or another way to get back to stock branded ROM if anything goes wrong?
I can do nandroid backup because I cant get to CWM because i dont have 2e recovery (that is one of reasons I want to flash to another kernel, to get 3e and CWM).
Please help!

2.3.6 vito

Hi guys
I flashed the brazil vito rom, and know ive got stuck.
Is there at moment a way to downgrade this version?
Or is there a other rom i may could flash with my 2.3.6 vito.
Couse ratail is not woking. By the way someone know why?
Im sorry about may bad english...
"Couse ratail is not woking. "
This is so much general - please specify your problem in more details - are you getting any error message or how the phone behave?
"Is there at moment a way to downgrade this version?"
Take a look at here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497263
"Or is there a other rom i may could flash with my 2.3.6 vito."
Yes. All custom ROMs, that works with GB - tezet's CM9, Endless7's CM7, Argen2Stone, MS2Ginger... in fact all roms, except MIUI and stock froyo (but you can downgrade now and use these too)
Actually, it's not possible yet, the Vivo ROM (I'm guessing Vito was a typo) can't be rooted and, right now, it's not possible to install any custom ROMs or downgrade.
Can't he just flash SBF of another GB ROM, which is rootable? (UK/Brazilian/China etc.)

No, the Vivo ROM has v4 BL, and the other GB official ROMs have v3 BL. I'm not sure why it doesn't work, but nobody in the forum reported success in rooting / downgrading (or even changing to another official GB) from Vivo and Personal ROMs.
Okay thanks for the fast answers i thought, too that this is because of the new rom.
So the ratail 2.3.6 has no v4bl, too so i cant flash the sbf, too?
So its normal, that i cant flash any other sbf? Or are their other roms with v4bl?
And do you think there will be found a way to root/downgrade this version, or is it impossible?

Yes, the 2.3.6 has v3 BL, unfortunately you're stuck in the Vivo rom for now. If you try to apply a different SBF, your phone won't boot, and you'll have to reaply Vivo rom to use the phone. For now, you can't change ROMs either.
All we have now is hope that it'll be possible to root and downgrade this version, I'm sure a solution will appear sometime, we just have to wait.
Are there any news? Do someone know?
Someone know where i can find some informatian?
Unfortunately, there's nothing new yet... All we need is hope.
Are there any news about this issues?

Can any expert help me about my note!!

hi [email protected]!!
i have N7000 default firmware version is N7000UBKK1 İTS 2.3.6 i want to upgrade it to ICS but when i try with kies it says ur device not support update via kies.so can anybody advice me step by step how can i upgrade my set without any problem.(also ics version have to contain turkish language)
thx in advance..
Just use Odin dude, there may not be an official update to ICS for your region yet.
But you can use Odin to update your device using one of the ROMs from other regions. Just depends on whether they have your language or not included in the ROM.
Also I'd aside you use a custom kernel, you will have to use an app called triangle away afterwards but it's safer than using the current official kernels that could potentially brick your device.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk 2
but 1 month ago i face the same problem on a galaxy s2 i try it with odin flashing was well but after i test the phone i see some problems like not detecting sim card , some menus missing , also no restart menu when hold power button.also im afraid about when i downgrade the s2 back to 2.3.6 it doesnt work too well some times shut down automaticlly after this progress.so i need the best ways to upgrade my note without any problem.

I suggest you leave it as it is for now ,for two reasons:
1.flashing is normally dangerous and could brick your phone ,you need to read and learn your way around a safe flash .
2.stock ICS for the note is buggy and could brick your phone if you preform a wipe/factory reset on it ,this would mean that you need a safe custom kernel to render it safely ,thus making the operation that much more difficult for you to do.
hi first thx 4 your anwser ,but i dont have problem about flashing etc im not a new bie (im also moderator on gsm hosting) just show me steps ang give me the best files for my device

I assumed from your post count ,and your way of asking that you are a noob, sorry if I'm mistaken.
anyway if you want to flash ICS ,then I suggest :
1.flash cm9 as it is safe and fully functional (aside from sammy apps)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1627854
2.flash a stock ICS ROM using mobile odin ,and replacing the kernel with either Franco r6 ,or Speedmod
these two kernels are assumed safe ,so you should have no problems.
good luck

So I wanna Root my phone, i need help!

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S GT i9000M Model and I wanna root it so I can have the newest firmware and cool features etc...
I have Odin installed and I know how to make my phone is detected in ODIN via USB (in download mode)
Before going any further and destroying my phone I wanna know some step by step for rooting my phone.
Like , I know nothing of the process... Could someone provide some good recent tutorial with the newest (not Beta) firmware I can get ?
My phone is currently 100% Stock.
Let me know If you have any advices, or good links to provide me...
N/B. Obviously I did some researchs... All I found so far are tutorials that says like : Your phone must be already running X.XX version (which are not supported on the s1) and be Rooted. Nothing really helpful for my stock galaxy.
Thx in advance

Yeah for rooting I think its best to leave someone alone for that, if you can't figure out how to root the phone then you should prob not be messing with it in the first place.
Just read the sticky notes and they are pretty easy to explain how to do it.

I have a M version and i can tell you, it doesnt matter. All canadian models of phones are VERY close to international, so you can use all their guides.
So to root:
1. Download either devil kernel or semaphore .tar file from respective threads. Flash them under PDA in odin, no re-partition. Leave everything else.
2. Your phone will not boot, DONT WORRY. Since recoveries are packaged with the kernel on this phone, all we are after is the custom recovery. We dont need the phone to boot.
3. Download Cyanogenmod 9 nightly/rc2. They are virtually bug free and not beta.
4. Flash it from your custom recovery!
5. Now when you flash cm9, it will change your baseband. You will have horrid signal, so flash back to a KG3 modem. You can find it, there is a big thread. And if the modem says nexus s cm7/9, its okay, it will work.
6. Wipe Data/factory Reset from recovery.
7. Have fun with it

Note 3 N9005 HLTE Nordic NEE comes back to root and try out newer ROMS than 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 and finds alot of things has changed and needs help

Hey,so I have the Note 3 HLTE and I need NEE since I live in scandinavia and I need the baseband and BootLoader and there is alot of new things since back in 2013 or so I flashed and tested out several AOSP ROMS including PacMan,RR,Carbon and others. So I have gone stock android 5.0 for close to 3-4years now and I watched a newly updated URL on the net about the best and newest ROMs that are based on android 9.0 and 10.0 and I found the Havoc Rom pretty interesting.
But there are so much to delve into, and I kinda forgot the process in order to Root from installing Odin, picking the CSC,BL,AP to installing TWRP to installing Custom ROMs. So I need a step by step guide on how to do this. I used to use the SuperSU app,but found out Magiska stops even more. I have also downloaded the GAPP pico and nano.
I have installed Odin 3.13.1, had to get a stock SAM 5.0 android FW image, managed to find the PIT file in case, and I'm using this and I'm thinking this is the correct to use; N9005XXUGBNL8_CL3643614_QB3415922. If not please redirect me to the correct one. So I think I have all that I need, but I'm not sure.
I have found several guides here on XDA and read them when it comes to the ROM installation, outside of XDA and a updated YT video that has been updated in 2020,but they are different in the step-by-step and so I dont know which to follow.
So I need somone who is kind enough to guide and write down step by step on how to flash with Odin, TWRP via Odin and the Custom ROMs. THe installing of Custom ROMs I have no problems to do. But I need the correct order so I dont brick my phone or bootloop it.
Kind regards
Anders
