And it never stopped working. IT complained to me when I got far away from my phone with the disconnect sound when I came up from under water for air.
I hate the buttons, the no mute, but, if it's THAT durable and if it is so good at keeping road noise out (it is) I am now a fan.
Good now wait for your earhooks to start breaking... and see how big of a fan you are then.
btw does it comes with anything when you buy it. like the orginal accessories that comes with the original box
it comes with some earhooks and earpads...nothing like a car attachment, which I would consider a 'real accessory'
Aww, that's nothing. I'm somewhat absent-minded and my original Jawbone has been through two full laundry cycles and hasn't skipped a beat to this day =)
No rust or deterioration from getting it wet????????????????
Same here, Jawbone 2 went through full wash; no problems.
I have had the Droid since the 1st week it came out and its the 1st non HTC phone that I have had since the 1st blackjack (6 or 7 phones ago LOL) I read up on the Incredible and decide to pre-order it. So far I really dig it but there are some things I already miss about the Droid In any case I am back on the old faithful XDA developers forum again

I feel you, I think the overall build quality of the Droid was better IMO. This phone is really light and I am kinda missing the weight of the Droid. Also, I lost my Droid so I can't compare but this screen seem more narrow? Is that just me?
Looked at it against an iPhone and its taller but less wide
no man the droid is taller and less wide that the Incredible even. Thats one of the things I like about the Incredible over the Droid, the better screen proportions
i like the incredible, its feel so good inside of my pocket.
ps: typing isnt that great.
Typing takes some getting used to, but this is my first touchscreen. I switched from a Blackberry Curve (1st gen) so its a nice change for sure. The keys seem pretty accurate to me though, and both the predictive and corrective text is really good. I've messed with a Droid and I like the physical keyboard and the weightiness, but this Incredible has way more potential and runs a lot better.
Maybe think about buying a shell/holster combo (i bought the one Verizon is selling) and the back of the phone haw some added bulkiness if that's what you want.
If you are having trouble typing, try calibrating the screen in settings. Once you adapt to this phone, you should be blazing fast with two thumbs and pretty quick with one.

Well after my loud speaker (the one on the back) blew out for the 2nd time in two weeks for reasons that are next to imposable to control, I am over this phone. The 1st time the speaker blew, the phone had somehow reassigned my ring tone to a full on song from my MP3 Library and even with the ringer turned down one notch the speaker was torched. The second phone and the second time in two weeks I was watching a movie on my plane ride and I had to have to volume up all the way just to stand a chance of hearing most of the words threw my ear buds. Later that day I tried to show a buddy of mine a youtube video and I had forgotten about the media volume being all the way up. Long story short, I couldn't get to the volume rocker fast enough and pow it happened again. Now Verizon is insisting I send it back to HTC for repair, HTC doesn't do the repairs for Verizon phones in house so I get transferred again and now I am waiting who knows how long for it to be Fixed so I can have my 2 week old refurbished phone.
meanwhile I fired up the droid again and the only thing I miss about the Incredible is the UI overlay (kinda) and the Camera. The Droid (with petes rom) is faster, longer battery life and way better hardware (except for the camera). I can turn my media volume all the way up, play AC DC, its louder and the speaker doesn't blow.
I am to say the least, disappointed
Have you tried swype, it will change the way you type.

Sorry to hear that. You're the first person I have seen that has had problems with the speaker (I've been reading on occasion, so I may have missed something...spend most of my time researching and learning the Android SDK).
One thing though, I do know that my headphones have a volume control along with the phone...but I'm sure that is not the case as it was for you.
I wonder why it changed to a song without you doing so...sure the screen didn't turn on in your pocket? that has happened to me on my phones quite a bit...
Eitherway though, I would think the speaker should be able to handle the top volume, but who knows...

haha. That rhymed as I'm sure you're aware.
I agree though, I LOVE swype, and that is on my WinMobile phone...so I'm sure it's even better on Android.
Well after my 2 week changaroo to the Incredible, I'm back. Boy it is a nice phone expecially for modifying but that screen and processor aren't for me. It is so slow in comparison to the X. AND that tiny screen! (ha, its tiny to us X users but to everyone else its perfect) Just as an example on the processor, I play a game called homerun battle 3d alot and it is slower than hell on the inc, but plays perfectly on the X. Anyway, just letting everyone know my experience! Maybe I'll end up back with HTC when the thunderbolt comes out, or I may stick with Moto when the bionic comes out. We'll see.
My only grump about the DX is that the physical keys on the bottom are very hard to press while using the phone with one hand. I don't know how much pressure they require, but it always feels awkward pressing them. What's worst is I'm always telling myself "man these buttons are hard to press". Of course it doesn't help going back and forth between my wife's Droid2 and then going to my DX. Hopefully the DX2 will bring in touch buttons.
First off let me say I love this phone, I really do but Motomaker has been leaving me a little sad.
So I started off by getting a 16gb model straight from AT&T since I'm not a patient person but after a bit I wanted 32gb so I sold the 16 and made one off contract on Motomaker.
The first Motomaker phone I got had scratches and dents on the screen bezel and it also looked like it had issues with the fusing as some of the plastic seemed to have gotten well into the screen.
I got a replacement and their advanced RMA was great and incredibly fast, however, the second one I got has a different issue. The power button on the new one doesn't seem to be seated right and sits lower than my previous two as well as being harder to press and not giving good tactile feedback..
Looks like I'm going to have to RMA again once I get the money back on my credit card.
Moto X you are amazing but something with the quality control is a bit lacking.
I had similar issues with my first phone. The power button was seated the same way you described, making it very difficult to actually use. The volume rocker was the exact opposite though, the whole button wobbled within the phone's frame, making it feel cheap. I requested a RMA saying that I wanted to swap colors, and only changed my accent color. The buttons on this phone are much more firm/usable.
I hope whatever issues there are down in Texas can get resolved soon. I really like this phone and Motorola to succeed but QA problems will give it a bad rep.
They didn't seem to care when I told them the damage I think if you bother calling they will change it.
i hope they get it right. mine came in with no issues. so they are capable of getting it right the fist time lol. i totally agree that they have issues though, my brother's veizon pre-order led is not near as flush as the one on my phone.
The Rogers ones I've seen (assembled in China) including mine are all flawless.
The one I got (no customization, Verizon) *works* fine but on the front-facing camera, I've noticed the felt ring is not seated correctly and creeping over the lens a little. Although I doubt Moto would give me an rma, it seems like a manufacturing defect.

I have a t mobile one and noticed it has a small scrape on the bottom back and a few plastic molding issues.
I am actually returning it now since I noticed there's eBay sellers selling black and white xt1058 models that are unbranded for significantly less. Made in China units but I figure I'll save $120 over an american unit and be fine with it. I'm in refarmed area so I don't care about the aws hspa and the non att xt1058 can have unlocked boot loader / no bloatware. Maybe the Chinese have better quality
At least, each time you replace a moto maker device you get a $10 play store credit (unless they fixed that loop hole) and supposedly the return process is easy and if you can float the $650 hold you can get it replaced without any down time.

QA problems? Unfortunately good chance it's because of the union workers down there. While majority are excellent, there are many with "I don't give a crap, union has my back no matter how crappy my work is" attitude.

I know what you guys mean with the manufacturing issues. My rear camera literally has a little piece of Texas in it. I noticed when I pulled it out of the box that the lens had a little speck of tan on it. However it won't wipe off, and closer inspection revealed it was on the other side of the lens!
Doesn't seem to affect the pictures at all though, so I doubt I'll get it replaced over that. But I'm sure gonna bring it up if I ever try! :fingers-crossed:

Mine's not as bad as yours but I have a small speck at the bottom right of the circle. I'm willing to let it go since it's not noticeable except you look close enough and at the right angle under light.

So, my display is going out...:crying: It will intermittently flash on and off for no reason. The digitizer still works, even when I can't see anything I can still feel it vibrating in my hand. This also pretty much breaks Active Notifications. :crying: And Touchless Control..:crying: And twist-to-camera...:crying:
Needless to say, I have a new one coming from Verizon tomorrow. And I definitely told them about the speck in my camera too. The lady at Verizon had the nerve to ask me if I had a memory card for my phone. I told her that unfortunately the designers at Motorola had taken that option away from me. I hope they at least send me some screen protectors or something for my trouble......because I thought I was doing a good thing supporting the workers in Texas.
UPDATE
My display went the rest of the way out last night. This resulted in a useless paperweight that vibrated occasionally. The worst part of it, is that I couldn't use Motorola Migrate to get my old info! Because the screen wouldn't come on, I couldn't see the QR code to start the wifi transfer. HOWEVER, after much anguish and profanity, I managed to get Moto Migrate to connect WITHOUT THE QR CODE!! I couldn't find this method listed in any literature, but it worked for me, and my non-displaying screen.
1) The old Moto X must have the NFC on! That is the key to this. Thankfully, I had NFC on prior to my screen breaking, so I didn't have to blindly try and toggle it on. Also turn it on for the new Moto X
2) If you're like me, and your screen won't work, then you can't see the Migrate app. Thankfully, you can just use Touchless Control to open it. "Okay, Google Now. Open Migrate" Give it 15 seconds and it should be open.
3) In my case, I had to tell my new phone to accept Migrations, and tell the old phone to send them. Settings in the top right corner, and then a toggle button in the middle of the screen. (I just used my new Moto X to judge the rough placement on my broken one, and it was easy)
4) Finally, touch the backs of the phone together, and tap the screen on the NEW Moto X to use Android Beam which pairs the phones and begins Migration of old info!
Note: I got the pairing backwards the first time, and sent settings from my new phone to my old one. This didn't appear to hurt anything, but that's why I specify you make the new Moto X the receiver.
Sorry for the HUGE update guys, but this is important information. It saved my ass, to mention an enormous headache. So I hope that anybody else trying to pair Motorola Migrate with a broken screen finds this post!! :good:
Does anyone else's DT2 rattle? I've had mine about 5 days (purchased used but in as new condition) and yesterday I noticed it rattling around the top when shaking it to do the flashlight on motion. I have held the buttons, removed the SIM/SD tray to no avail. I'm pretty sure it did not do this the first couple of days. I have not dropped it or let it experience any shock. As expected, it doesn't rattle when stirred.
I've seen various posts about rattles in phones, other Motos and Samsungs and even HTCs but none about DT2. Everything is functioning normally that I can see. Does anyone else's do this?
I can confirm that mine rattles. Sounds like it is the ear speaker. My ear speaker sounds like crap at high volume too.
When I shake my phone the flashlight goes on. No rattle though.
Wow mine rattles. Never noticed it til I read this. Never been dropped. It's not loud, you have to listen carefully but it's there. Everything seems to work OK. Speakers sound good. Idk.
No rattles...and we have 3 turbo 2's since mid-November (before Thanksgiving)
I thought mine didn't have a rattle until I did it a certain way. To hear mine you have to hold phone up to your ear like you were talking on it. shake it (not too hard) in and out not side to side. It's definitely the ear piece.
I just got my Turbo 2 last week and I noticed it right off the bat. Everything is working fine though. It seems to be coming from the sim card/sd card slot on top. Prob just a bad design, a little play maybe where the cards sit in the tray is my guess.
Hughdawg
Rattle that phone
p.s.
Sorry for off topic.
I gotta update. Yes! It does rattle. When I put my ear right next to the ear speaker I can hear it. Besides my Motorola RAZR HD MAXX rattle as well. My good ole Droid X makes the sound as well. It is interesting. My guess it could be a gyroscope. It does not bother me at all! I bet all smartphones do it. 3 out of 3 of my Droid do rattle.
I've had 3 turbo 2's and they all rattled.
I definately can hear something moving inside.
Bought a new x force 1580 a week ago, and it rattles quite a lot in the upper part of the phone. Even when the camera is active, even the vibration is off.
Its a pity I have bought it in Finland, and I live in Russia, so it will take me 6 hours drive to try to replace it. Did anyone succeed in solving this some how? Did they fix or replace your phone with this issue?
I have noticed this on the phones that I have had. I first noticed on the Galaxy S5. Funny thing, I launched the camera and tried to make it rattle..... Rattle gone.
Yes, this is normal rattle from the camera lence. I've had it on my Oneplus one. But the rattle i have here is much stronger and it does not stop when i activate the camera
