So I have already been searching the forums for my problem, but I could not find a solution (taking into account the amount of posts about WP7/Android dual booting it is, however, possible that I missed the one containing the solution for my problem. So please forgive me for creating a new thread then ).
I finally bought a 16GB SD for my HD2 and partitioned it correctly. Both WP7 and Android work as they are supposed to be, BUT Android won't recognize the 8GB SD partition it is stored on. So I can only access the 1GB linux filesystem of my ROM build and it won't let me take photos or accept bluetooth transmission. The Panasonic formater does solve the problem, but then deletes the WP7 partition. So is there a way to format my Android partition so that it will be recognized by Android without destroying the WP7 partition?
Thanks in advance for all answers!
look over here
Thanks alot. It did the job

I'm running WP7 and, from the the SD, Android.
Now, I'm using an 8Gb Sandisk SD, 4Gb used by the WP7 unknown file system and 4Gb by the Android FAT32 partition. Since I put a lot of stuff in WP7, it's getting closer to be full sooner and sooner.
Is it possible to resize the partition - let's say 6Gb WP7/2Gb Android - without losing data? Has anyone of you already tried doing it?
Thanks!
There are many reformatting and partitioning applications out there, but they wipe the data of your sd card. Since its on the sd card just backup(move) all the info onto your pc.
Hope this helps
If I helped please hit the thanks button!
i have tried an tried, but each time i inserted the sd card then wp7 didn't recognize it untill i hard reset the phone and wp7 destroys the partition info again and all of the sd card is assigned to wp7 again.

bump up the same question.
I had put wp7 on my hd2 and experience issues with it restarting over and over on its own.
I have since gone back to android and have notice they my SD only reads 200mb. Its a 16gb SD.
My question, is there a way to restore or undo the format wp7 applied to my SD? I'd rather not buy another SD lol
Any suggestions would be apreciated
I had the same problem.
I could not format in Windows XP or in Windows 7 ...
In the end I formatted in camera.
WP7 creates two partitions - one for system use the other is what you're seeing - the 200mb partition.
Theres program called SD Format nocking around on the internet that should reformat and remove the partion WP7 creates - try googling SD Format that should throw up some links to it - i beleive its freeware.
There are lots of threads and fixes about this, here is one with video:

Here is one where you don't have to install any software on your pc:

I flashed the stock ROM then i went to start/tools/Format SD Card & formated worked for me
If you are using a NAND build of Android, you can just format it from the phone and it should recover the remaining amount of the SD card. I don't remember who I saw that posted it on here, but it worked for me when I tried it.
I get this message when I open the music player. Similar for the gallery too.
I have WP7 installed and am dual booting with Android 2.3 (Cope's build) with MagLdr. I had first installed WP7 with a 2GB sd card, then copied the partitions to an 8gb card, and installed Android in the expanded fat 32 partition. WP7 partition is the primary and Fat32 is logical.
The android boots fine, but I get this message when I open Music app. "your phone does not have an sd card inserted". I can browse the sd card using file explorer and even play mp3s from there. Just that the apps doesn't seem to know how to read it.
Any idea what is wrong?
ps: I searched the forum but could not find an answer.
The FAT32 partition needs to be primary also.

That worked. Both the partitions are marked "primary" now, and the apps are now able to read it. Thanks very much.
How did u set it to primary partition.
I am facing the same problem in android 2.3 in my dev phone
Can i make partition on internal storage? If yes than what is the best partition tool because i have the same issue and no one replied me..

Hi,
When you want to dual boot WP7 and Android do you need 2 SD cards to help partition the other one?
Also do they both have to be Micro SD cards or can I just use one micro and the other sd?
Thanks
Yes you can use SD instead of MicroSD. You can also use an SSD, an HDD 5.1/4, a vinyl...
Sorry but read what you write a second time. How do you want to put an SD in microSD slot ???
No you don't need two µSD. Partitioning make the OS to see two different cards.
You can use 2 SD if you want but be careful to not boot WM7 without the good SD. This may messed up your data (maybe wipe it) as WM7 use the SD like in a RAID system (means that NAND and SD are mixed together and can't be separate).
NB: do you read the posts in WM7 section ??? I'm sure they explained it (of course not regarding your SD/µSD question... this one noone never asked before).
seems you're new. So don't take my answer badly. Spend some time reading the info on XDA. Most of your questions will find an answer somethere here.
Hello everyone,
Sorry kinda hit a brick wall and can't figure something out. I am dual booting my HD2 from T-Mobile with win phone 7 on nand and magldr sd builds of android. if I put in a sd card with only one partition and android will boot and run ok and android mounts the sd card and can use it.
If I use a sd card formated with one fat32 partition primary active and unknown for win 7 unkown unactive android will boot and not mount the sd card.
so android will run and operate fine but can't use anytnig of the SD card.
is this something wrong with the partitioning or just can't do with partitions now.
I was previouly able to do it before. Just leftphone for a while and came back after a update to Win phone 7 and after reinstalling everything and this is where I gotstuck now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Don't know if you figured it out yet, but here is what I think the problem is.
You need to set the android partition to active.
For additional help go to youtube and search wp7 android hd2.
You will find 96edwysMobile's two part video tutorial on how to do it.
Hope this helps.
