No need to install modaco R6 as it is not fully compatible with the latest vega firmware 1.8. Just follow these simple instructions and it will be working without any add-ons at all. CWM people will probably have to do it via the recovery.
Just download the attachment with the vega, go to settings, software tool, software update and point it to where you got the downloaded file. The vega will reboot and you will have a full working market. It will be the old version the first time you launch it but it will update itself. After that just install maps, youtube and everything else google. The only thing I'm having trouble installing is the official twitter app.

hi guys, i'm having issues trying to install market. i have tried this file and the one from o_g. with no luck. i can dl find and execute the file. when i comes to reboot i get the android out of the box symbol (which i'm assuming is bad ?)and have to power down the vega to get it to boot again, without market ? any ideas ? i have little knowledge of android (phone related only) and am a bit stumped.

You're welcome. There are some apps I have difficulty in finding in the market. I think it's due to the market trying to aquire location. I cannot install the official twitter app either. Trying to find solutions.

No, you don't necessarily need it but it doesn't hurt if you do. It has to be done via recovery if you do though, different process. What firmware have you got?

The android out of the box symbol is fine thats when it is flashing the files. there should be a progress bar that turns orange, after that happens the device should reboot its self. The only requirement is you are running stock v1.08.

I have noticed launcher pro does not show in the market had to install manually. i have tried changing the market files, but that does not work, so it might be as you say down to location, or i think it could be to do with are device name on the market, maybe advent does not want us to have those apps. I cant remember where the device name is. I will have to look further.

Thanks o_g, there is no progress bar? And if i leave the vega notfhing happens. Running stock 1.08. I'm wonering if i have been sent a second or a return. The battery was fully charged out of the box and the screen polythene had most definately been removed and replaced. Need to do some more reading methinks
Thanks for the assistance guys, my memory card was the culprit. I had swapped it for a bigger one, and not copied the contents. Sorted now tho now to get flash working properly

If I did this to my vega on the 25th January when it was delivered. what symptoms might present?
It seems to be working well bar "horizontal line gfx glitches" occasionally on the screen.

It works ok, you need to delete some of the apk's out of files/system/app. things like car home can be deleted and other little things. Like that it will not run out of space when you install it and it will not give you errors. This is just another option, that's all. Some more goodies will come along from modaco and xdadev like the new R7 rom addon that were made specifically for the 1.08 firmware.

First of all thanks to all for the useful info. Been browsing this site (and modaco) for a while now. Finally got my Vega today
Apologies for the n00b question but....
Managed to sort out USB drivers (despite Win 7 x64... ) and updated to 1.09 from the official vega site. Now I'm trying to get the market working - put the OGMarket update (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=931337) on my SD card and installed the google framework, market etc... and I can get the market to run, however whenever I select an app I get "force close".
Any suggestions?
Is there a better way of going about this? I have nothing useful on my vega yet so don't mind reflashing - just wanted to try and stick with 1.09 if poss.
I have noticed it seems to be an old version of the market (I have an up to date X10 mini pro with the newest market on it) but I can't figure out how to run the market updater app.
Any help would be much appreciated.

When I switched to 1.09, to install the market I just used the file linked in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=930267 and it worked right. It installs an older version of the market but once running it updates itself.

Some of the Ggaps aren't there (and don't show up on market) such as calendar, maps etc... but this is definitely a step forward.
Now to go look at that rom...

I would suggest you follow the tip to enable all the apps in the market in my thread, google Maps shows fine for me. I can add more gapps to it no problem, just trying to keep the rom size down. Calendar does not show i can add that as a extra download.

I have had this issue, it started last night when i decided to re-flash my vega. (i have been doing lots of testing and wanted a clean system) It appears to effect all roms and builds. I tried stock v1.065, v1.08 and v1.09 also tried maodaco r8 and all resulted in the same. I ended up doing a application restore (from software tool) which resulted in market logging in, but then getting a message "No matching content in Android Market" I fixed this with market enabler. Not sure why this has happened, as it appears to effect all roms. Have to wait and see how many people this effects.
Your vega not booting is strange as you are the first to report the problem with the Gapps. Did you have sufficient battery power to apply the flash? Enter recovery and reflash the stock rom.

Odd, I got the market working but it only had free apps. Had to set to US in language and keyboards to get the paid apps to show, but now all prices are in dollars. Must be a location thing.
Afraid I am having the same problem too actually...
I have flashed 1.09 again - system restarts ok.
Unfortunately when I add the apps pack I just get the little android symbol on the screen in a boot loop
Any ideas? Was really cool when the apps were workin tho
EDIT: My location is UK btw.. incase that's useful
EDIT 2: What I mean to say is, I add the apps pack and it loads fine, all the apps work, all is well - however, if I then power down the vega it goes into the boot-loop.

There are more and more messages and news that there is a problem with the market login. I guess it is not the user, it is the server from google.

That's a relief - I have just been re-flashing and wondered what I had done wrong when the market didn't log in!
Cheers Gman for all yer work so far. Am trying different combinations of apps in the pack to see if it is one in particular causing the problem - also, while on the topic, any chance of getting google talk in there? I have an apk that works on the vega - but I'm not sure if that's going to cause a bootloop too, so I'm leaving it off for now!

Seems fine (I.E. I can restart the vega without bootloop) but I cannot "establish a reliable data connection to the server" - it would appear much of the internet is having the same problem at the mo for whatever reason!
Ofcourse this is still missing the all important market etc... and I didn't realise just how much I'd miss the mini taskbar!
Tried making "my own" update - chopping together the apks, updating the updater-script file then signing the zip.... it didn't end well.
*Flashes 1.09 again*...
I think this is a google thing. i have tried every rom/market update combination, but still unable to log into market. Restoring from a application back up from software tool, fixes the login problem but you can only see free apps unless you change the language in language and keyboard to US.

After playing w/Floyo 2.2.1 and sd mounting(which does not work properly to me)
ive notice root explorer indicates no root access. Ive installed busybox installer and fetched 1.18 after which...:
-no xrecovery access at boot
-locked home screen but trying to unlock it says: Launcher...unexpectedly stopped etc etc..., DSP manager etc etc - neverending loop.
Any chance to bring the brick back to life ??

i had this problem as well when i first started.
download PC Companion , click Support Zone, Software Update, Repair phone and follow the instructions.
it will delete all your data(of cos not sd card) and bring it back to android 2.1 default hope this helps.
Yes, I would..but PC Companion or Update Service/Engine state they cannot fetch any software (due to internet access problem), ive turned off router and windows 7 firewall and still nothing..

it has to be a version of busybox.
when install xrecovery, there is one u should always keep.
maybe when trying JiT, it need a new busybox,
but after that, put back xrecovery-busybox to system/bin.
it should work. (got same problem twice btw)
I have only one solution for you: reflash.. works always XDD
If you cant use the SE update service or PcCompanion, use flashtool from b1nary.. flash it any firmware, at least one that you could install xrecovery to restore or search for updates on SEUS..

1. terminal was working but i couldnt write any think - nothing shows on screen when i write. I try to reinstal terminal but i have FC after instaling new one.

1. Press option button, tap in 'Toggle soft keyboard'.
2. In set cpu you have to check 'Set on Boot'. Becareful, if you set the freq too high you might get boot loop.

i'm actually working with other terminals
others can work too ,but by a little bob...
i made mess and have to reinstall system.
i was try to use teminal instaled with system and still i can write letters (numbers only)
i have live with this for now, have no idea how to fix it.

Version 1.0.0 works fine for me. I've been using it since it was released and I've noticed only one reboot. There are patches that fixes compass and camera as well (read the thread). It's stable enough for daily usage (tested with ARC theme).

I have an another bug with video recording. I record, than i play it, the picture lates 2-3 sec. I checked the video on pc and there is the same problem... I have the latest baseband, and i did a factory reset and also a reflash. Can anyone help me?

Since some weeks i have issues with my Wifi connection :
It stops working and the "Wifi" quick setting button flicker. I can't disable and/or enable it. The only thing i found to resolve the issue is to reboot the tablet, then it works for some times.
I have Android 5.0.1 (last update).
Do you know this issue ? If yes, how to resolve it ?

Can you find wifi in settings/apps and clear cache or data and see if that works.
Don't have me tab on me so can't test.

I don't have custom recovery. I have stock rom and so stock recovery. Can i clear cache and dalvik cache in stock recovery ? If yes, do you know how to boot to stock recovery ?

Do you have root? In which case you could do a dmesg or logcat output to skim the logfiles for any error messages that could pinpoint the issue.

I contacted my reseller (Amazon) and it tell me to restore to factory default my tablet, what i did, with internal sd card format.
After the reset, i don't have the issue anymore, but i didn't connected my Google account and didn't installed my own apps : tablet is in a fresh stateand since yesterday : no issue.
Now, i think i will install my apps one after the other to try to determine if one app could be the cause.

I take a quick research about this problem, an found some users at the official Lenovo forum saying that this is a "general" issue with Lillipop. I also used Android 5.0.1 when I had this problem. I never had this problem in the year before I upgraded to LP. Also I downgraded to Kitkat 4.4.2 two days ago and till now no problem with Wifi! Hope this solved the wifi-issue.
Ok but i would like stay on LP.. During the first month with LP i didn't have any issue.
Could you just tell me if you had common apps installed by checking my list ?

I have this issue as well. I dont have root but I did do a lazy attempt at rooting a while back using kingroot so I have su binaries, checked with adb, but no root so I can't remove them. OTA updates have worked up till now even with su binaries in place, but the last one from march fails before the end but the tablet will boot.

Hi, does it always work for you ? I made a factory reset, it worked first days but then the issue is back
I discovered the reason.
If you save your apps to SD card, then WiFi stop work.
If you save apps to internal memory, then everything is alright.
It works on my yoga 1050f.

It stops working and the "Wifi" quick setting button flicker. I can't disable and/or enable it. The only thing i found to resolve the issue is to reboot the tablet, then it works for some times.
I have Android 5.0.1 (last update).
Do you know this issue ? If yes, how to resolve it ?

Something similar happend to me when i switched the default isntallation location for apks to force istall to SD card. Wifi flickered after reboots so i switched it back to system default.

Hi,
Since my last factory reset, i had the issue only 2 or 3 times but nothing important.
Thanks for this tip, i will check this if the issue come back.
